Oh, okey mummy.
Oh wait, you're not my mother, you're... no one?
I guess the merc packs blinded the eyes of CCP and they don't remember "We want the game to be atractive for casual players".
Did you even work in the Academy?
At least you "talk" about the game in the "weekly update".
"we talked about this", "we talked about that". Yes, talk is nice.

Until you yourself start making it more friendly towards new people, stop complaining. Posting something like this when all you run is PRO assault gear doesn't help your complaint. |

I'm sorry, it's not my job to be friendly. It CCP's job to make the game more friendly to new players instead put an "Elite Pack" with pretty names as if you purchase that, you will be so good.

why would players limit themselves? This is always going to be a fundamental flaw to this game. People think they are saving isk by playing in low tioer gear but the problem is they are not getting out of the gear and learning to survive. This is an RPG. Part of the foundation of the game is based on SP and gear - thats the point of an RPG
And as this is an RPG there seems to me to be a disconnect between an RPG that is in the current confined space of 16v 16 where there are ISk consequences. There isnt the mechanic like in Eve where there can be more than 16 on one side etc.
It is new player unfriendly. Its not up to the playerbase to just run militia in pubs - thats not the point of the game. And it doesn't seem CCP can do matchmaking - perhaps too many variables. |

Just allow players with 10 million Isk to buy a passport to a planet with higher rewards... then the good players will go there and leave the lower level folks to play around until they have been around long enough to buy their own fare. Maybe have them pay a million for each return to a lower level to "discourage" it but not limit the player.
If there aren't many people on that tier they can always go back where the people are. Just make sure there are a lot of people who'll want that passport before opening up a higher tier... and that there are lots in the current highest tier that can't level up yet.
We could support maybe 3 tiers. No forced boundaries... and a corp could give you enough to buy a passport if you thought you were nuts and wanted to prove it.
Just the beginning of an idea. |

Lol build up 10k wp, its like 20 matches AT MOST.
What can you build up with 10,000 wp and sp allocated?
The gap is at 16 mill to 500k its too much for a newbie to handle. |

The sp gap is an issue, but pubstomping is rampant as aids.
What other game can you fight 1v1 and you have 980 hp (shiekd and armor) and the other guy has 210 hp, your bullets do 35hp per bullet and his do 25hp? It creates the proto-pub-stomp that all players of little to no fps skill flock to and stay with as to pretend they are good at fps. As soon as they try another fps they are delt a stiff dose of reality.....You suck at fps. |

There is a measure of truth to this statement.
I'm guessing that's why some people refuse to run anything less than proto at times. They like the advantage.
Yet, they played hard for that advantage.
Even if there was a global SP wipe, this problem would simply emerge again 6 months down the line.
"Too many variables" is a lame excuse for no/poor matchmaking.
I would wait triple the current deployment time for a pub match, if it meant getting into a nice even match.
I recommended a "character meta level" calculated by the average meta of the gear/skill a person has unlocked, and then just use that for matchmaking. No response on that.
The clock is ticking, and Dust's slow lost of players is starting to grow into a hemorrhage. New players need to start having fun, otherwise nothing is going to kick off right. This isn't EVE. |

At times I wonder if being able to rofl-stomp new players is the point, if the game was designed with that purpose in mind. |

yes this is true compared to other FPSs but it is supposed to be an RPG so there is supposed to be these discrepancies.
But the RPG side doesn't really work either i.e. there are different characters/ roles etc on the field. Tbh even proto v proto say in PC it is still mainly about characters having the highest HP and DPS. There is little variation. Personally this is down to allowing too many of the same modules to be stacked. |

I think it's too late for CCP to fix this issue. The game seems designed to create, perhaps, the greatest imbalance of any FPS I've seen. Any difference in total HP and weapon damage bonus may be too much. Having a much larger total HP verses a suit of the same class creates huge imbalance. The difference in HP per different suit class should have strengths and weakness which aren't as balanced as in Chromosome and maybe before. This creates imbalance. The same goes for having better weapons of a class that have slightly greater damage as you move to better variants is one thing, but when you can upgrade the damage by 40% it creates a huge imbalance.
There should be very few to no SP or module bonuses to damage and shield/armor that new players cannot use right from the beginning, moments after they create their first character. |

WOW. What are you complaining about.
When I started playing Dust, I had never played a game of this kind before. Not knowing what I was in for, I started the game and went through like 6 characters. No I'm still not the best and get my ass handed to me every time I load into a battle but that doesn't me I jump on the forums and start complaining that I am getting pub stomp by protos and OP assault classes. I buck up and try to create a strategy that will allow myself to get to the point, capture, and defend without getting shot in the back. Does it always work.... Of course not.
I am no means the best player, but every time I get my ass handed to me on the field it makes me a better player.

This is exactly what proto squads in pub matches is all about. There are a lot of players that simply want to rack up their K/D and slaughter players that aren't equipped to match them. I enjoy the game much more in STD gear because it is much more profitable and allows me to be relentless and actually play the game. It also makes it much more entertaining to kill protos or run them out of an area because they do not want to lose all their expensive expensive toys. It's slightly harder, especially when you go up against full squads of high level tech, but to me that makes it more fun. |
