Yep.
These guys made Eve ten years ago, and despite all the doomsaying / demands, it's still a unique game with an ever growing player base.
This game's only been released for little over a month. I have plenty of patience waiting for new content to bring it closer the Eve. |

I having a hard time with faith as its only worth for religious purposes.

I have plenty of faith in this game.
My reasons for which are thus:
I've been playing EVE for a while, and I'm fairly familiar with their rather unusual style of updating and working.
They sometimes keep things secret for the "shock and awe" factor of showing off cool new features, and other times
write Dev blogs that make one feel like they are being addressed to a actually intelligent individual, going through and
explaining the back end of why they are making the changes, and give quite a bit technical details.
Also, they are just about the only company that seems to have the balls to constantly show their current logged in player count for their games. They also seem like one of the few game companies (the non-indie ones I mean) that really want to try to be innovative and make exciting new things.
Furthermore I'm a patient sort who normally has alot of work (I work 7 days a week programming) so I can't really play the game as much as I'd like to, so I've yet to had a chance to really burn myself out of the game. I can wait for changes to happen to improve the game, and I've seen from personal experience that CCP will improve things, granted on a rather slow and methodical schedule.
I like the game right now. Also, and probably a highly related reason, I haven't really run into the "rampant" bugs so many other players seem to experience. I never get disconnected from the game (except when my local connection fails on my end) and I don't often feel like my shots missed due to poor aiming mechanics as opposed to my own poor marksmanship. I have a small number of skill points, and after a -VERY- frustrating period of getting killed by better players in better gear, I've gotten to a point where I can normally do very well in a match even with all standard gear, even getting top spot on my team once or twice. (Thanks DUST uni)
My skill points are still low enough that I'm still working towards getting max general skills, and being able to fit my primary build in all protogear (I can't even use half of my modules at Advanced yet) So I still feel each SP I get is very meaningful, and because I work alot I rarely am able to hit the cap, so that feature doesn't really bug me much either.
I read the DUST war reports, and even while I'm not yet at a point where I can compete in PC, I can still read about the wars on a weekly basis, giving me a much greater sense that this game does carry some extra weight to it. Perhaps it's just my mindset, but I really love it when there's a much greater conflict going on that goes beyond individual matches. I like that certain alliances, and fledgling empires can hold their ground over a period of weeks, and other alliances are crushed beneath the weight of others. It gives a narrative to the game that goes beyond the lore or the developer crafted events.
Even if I'm not part of it (yet) I feel it's something I can aspire to. (And hopefully by the time I -can- reach it alot of the PC bugs people have been having will be stamped out.) |

What do you mean do I have faith in CCP?
Faith that they can actually fully deliver on their vision of what Dust 514 was touted to be,or faith that they will actually fulfill that vision in time for people to not totally lose interest? On a long enough timeline,sure they can get there if they don't go broke or if Sony allows it to happen.
To answer the question,yes I think they will finish the game to the point where it won't feel like a beta anymore.Unfortunately,by the time they do finish it,will anyone care?
Way too many other games will be out by then to catch people's interest.Destiny,Planetside 2,The Division,Killzone,Battlefield 4.CCP's biggest enemy right now is against time,and it's running out on them real fast.
I'm at the point now that my only real optimism left for this game is that the whole thing is actually a beta for PS4.All of the glitches will be ironed out,all of the game assets with be there,and the whole thing will be perfectly what they intended it to be.
Ah,one can only hope that's the case.

the development cycle is far too long, currently the game looks and plays like its been made in about 4 months but half a class of computer science under grads. **** knows what the hell is taking so long putting out content.
AAA titles have been made and released in less time than this ****. |

Yes, because I still enjoy playing... but a lot will depend on what is/isn't accomplished with the next update.
Also, I think a lot of the "loss of faith" has to do with the lack of communication from CCP. |

Update1: It's clear these results reflect the forums well. Negativity has been running amok and peoples faith have taken a drastic hit from Uprising - and no clear sign of a fix we can all enjoy. But all hope is not loss - many understand that this game is much like a minecraft server - it takes time to create into something wonderful. And often like a minecraft server it seems it won't be the same people each year - grinding and rinse and repeat gameplay takes a toll and people need to back off and recouperate. But again like that MC servers people return in time to see the wonderful changes and creations to enjoy once again. The positive side of the community pushes the light that this game is free to play and is accessible to millions and will grow each month. A shakey start doesn't stop a seed from blooming into a beautiful flower - or stop the flower from spreading seeds to create an even more beauitful garden. People seem to feel this way torwards CCP goals and not there recent major miss-steps.
I will continue to tally in peoples results and this thread will lead to feedback CCP can sink there teeth into - and possibly help CPM in explaining how the community honestly views things when asked up front. Thank you guys so much for the responses so far!!

Nope, each build gets progressively worse and less fun to play; as such, my play time has decreased each build. I am completely done with this build and will not be touching dust until a later date--if at all. |

Given the amount of progress made from 1.1 to 1.2, I seem to have lost all hope that the progress lost in Uprising would be reset.
I'll check in every few months to see if the dev team has made any progress, but that may be at the "2.5 year roadmap" (So I will change to a yes if things like balance, lag, and aiming are adressed)
