Please CCP lets give the vets somewhere to go how about a match labeled veterans battle this is for 10 mill skill points and above players only. Everyone here will have a chance because they will all obviously be specialized into something. I can only imagine what strategys these players would come up with and what they would loose on the battlefield. Instant battles are plagued with veterans in EVE would you put a trial account up against a 1 or 2 year player? Thanks for reading on my idea guys.

Mercenary battles are fun because veterans don't play in them from what I have seen. The academy is also fun because everyone is pretty much using the same stuff and everyone has a fair chance. This isn't me whining about getting stumped or whining about having to go up against good players because I will tell you now I like the challenge of difficult players. But the problem is and my complaints come from the battles being so one sided. A full squad of proto players with members from well known corps versing off against players who had just joined yesterday and don't even understand how to switch guns. Please CCP the academy was a good start but now you need a veteran only match and an expanded academy. I would like to see tiers or levels in the academy based on allocated skill points and after graduating to a higher tier a small reward.
Thanks for listening Eris Ernaga |

If this thread gets comments it'll be something CCP will implement in their game so could I get feedback on this? It'll take pros out of a lot of instant battles. |

Sounds like a good idea. The match should have an extra feature though to give veterans incentive to earn more ISK and play as proto to get the higher ISK rewards.
Perhaps the top 5 players on the 'end of match leaderboards' (for each team) should be rewarded significantly more ISK based on there WP earned. Maybe 800 000 ISK more for coming 1st, and 700 000 ISK more for coming 2nd, 600 000 ISK for coming 3rd, 400 000 ISK for coming 4th, 350 000 ISK for coming 5th if all these players get more than 1300 WP for each individual player. |

Eris Ernaga, mercs will always face other mercs with more SP than them. I've been there. You've been there. We've all been there. New players are going to have to learn to deal with enemies with more SP than them.
If the problem you have is facing off against too many players who use proto gear as a crutch, I agree. People should be allowed to run their proto fit whenever they feel like it; but losing their proto fit should cost them enough to consider the risk of losing it. This just isn't the case at the moment. Players are just too rich and proto gear too cheap. Even if a player runs out of isk from burning through too many proto fits, they can always fall back on their unlimited supply of starter fits. We as players have no consequence for being without isk and are not discouraged in the least from running our most expensive gear.
PS: I have around 8mil SP at the moment, only run standard/militia gear, and have killed and have been killed by people running proto gear many times. |

Tthis was my topic about separating battles I think we need to separate ourselves for meta levels, if a guy with 10 mil SP runs MLT gear, he has passive advantages, from his skills and from his experience, but at least he can not use an superpowered fit. A good squad would Militia-stomp the other team but this seems legit. |

I have 10.1 mill skill points and have been playing for a year since June 2 this month. I would like to keep around instant battles for the randomness of it but expanding the academy would be great and giving a vets match only would not only be fun for vets but smart.

True but PC only half does it because not every vet is in a corporation and corporation battles are not happening all the time for everyone. About faction warfare/mercenary battles lol no dude only noobs play them and they are never one sided which is why I always play merc battles. Vet battles would allow everyone 10 mill sp and up to play meaning there is no restriction to when someone can play it. |

First off you are not a "vet"this word should be reserved for people who fight in actual battle in real life not a video game.
This game is horribly unbalanced and not really fun for new players unless they are in the academy. I am finding myself more and more capping my active sp and letting the game sit until wedsnday. I don't have fun getting owned by 10 mil sp players every match and I cannot imagine anyone else does either. How many people actually see newer players sticking around anymore? I don't, this game is becoming more unbalanced every week as newer players are simply quiting or afk farming so they can stand a chance against the proto horde. |

This is New Eden, a ruthless place where those who threaten to commit suicide are the butt of jokes. I never liked the notion of academy battles because It creates false expectations for new players. They will have to learn how to face other mercs with more SP than them eventually and coddling them further will be counter productive to that end.
Also, the reason for me mentioning my accumulated SP, the gear I run and how I fair in matches against proto fits is not to compare e-peens with you but rather to point out that I'm one of those that you wish to coddle and I do ok against your "vets". |

1. This is the real world where people invest their time into games that provide a little bit of gratification and they aren't destroyed every match. Furthermore, this community is built of people that have lives and obligations other than building an imaginary character in a video game.
2. This is a world of highly competitive business where the consumer has multiple choices in titles and can leave a game whenever he or she chooses. This includes leaving a free to play game that the consumer has little time invested in because they aren't obligated in recuperating $59.99 for a title. A world of low profit margins, especially considering the game being free 2 play. I would imagine the thought of so many new players leaving would worry ccp, since this is going to be the bulk of their revenue.
3. The fact is at this moment, I don't see this game growing in the direction that CCP wants it to. To most businesses the prospect of limited growth is a killer. CCP probably has obligations to investors to turn some kind of gain. This will require them to bring in new revenue aka new players. I just don't see more new players coming in, especially with how unbalanced the game is coming out of the Academy.
4. Players need the ability of choosing where they want to play and who they want to play with. More experienced players need to be matched up against each other. Until these systems are in place i'm gonna keep building my passive SP unemployment and wait until I can fare up against the proto horde.

Yes and I have been playing since closed beta your not a old player your views and opinion doesn't direct the way CCP will shape and make their game especially if that opinion is unfair. You should be stripped of all your skill points and ran in instant battles until you can't take it anymore and quit.

Yeah I dont try pc anymore and I dont participate in pc anymore its to serious but the lagg kills it you go in with a serious attitude and your best gear and get the worse lagg ever. Even worse when you loose the 160 mill cause of lagg and get 0 districts. |

Again, you have intentionally ignored and taken out of context the content of my post and turned your thread into a who has the biggest e-peen contest. It may cause your e-peen to shrivel to know this, but countering every argument with "my e-peen is bigger than yours" is not a valid counter. And it may shock you to know that CCP does in fact shape its game based off opinions and other factors. It's why CCP is has a good rep and it's why you bothered to even start this thread in the first place. Put your e-peen back in your pants because no one gives a kitten how big you say it is.

In open-beta as a neophyte, I fought mercs with much more SP than I and understood why I was getting slaughtered. I did not begrudge the system for starting me at level 1 and pitting me against higher leveled players. Sound similar to joining the game fresh without academy battles and having to face off against older players? It should. You, me, and most of the current player base went through this. Why are we still here playing the game if we could never get past that "terrible" new player experience?
Now back to the topic of the thread that you like to keep digressing from to admire your e-peen. No, we should not coddle new players by expanding academy battles. Players improve when faced with a challenge. Who are you to try and deny them the opportunity for self improvement? If you take issue with proto stomping, I've already discussed this in your thread. Go back and look for it because I doubt you bothered to read it all the way through.

So you think player getting proto stumped and then quitting the game teaches them how to play? You obviously have no clue what you are talking about putting a 500,000 sp player against a 10,000,000 sp player will not teach them to play it will teach them how to loose. Chances are they will not have any genuine skill until they have 2,000,000 mill sp and getting stumped until they reach that point will not make them any better.
Let's be clear you are the one who first mentioned you were playing since open beta so I simply let you know I am an older player then you. You seem to think your personal opinion directs all of New Eden and it's sickening to simply watch you express your opinion. CCP has already created an academy and has plans on expanding the academy so you are directly going against what CCP is doing. You will feel foolish when CCP expands their academy and every comment you put in this post goes directly against CCP's plans. |
