I must wholeheartedly agree with giving us veterans of dust a place to play because this is supposed to be a mmo and right now it feels like battlefield's futuristic red headed stepchild instead of an mmorpgfps. we need fixes for mcc afk farming we need fixes for PC lag we need matchup balancing because most of us come from playstation fps games like Call of Duty, Kill Zone, Battlefield, and medal of honor and these games require a lot more skill than Dust 514 in fact you don't have to be that skilled to be any good at dust you just have to have a lot of sp

Eris Ernaga, mercs will always face other mercs with more SP than them. I've been there. You've been there. We've all been there. New players are going to have to learn to deal with enemies with more SP than them.

If the problem you have is facing off against too many players who use proto gear as a crutch, I agree. People should be allowed to run their proto fit whenever they feel like it; but losing their proto fit should cost them enough to consider the risk of losing it. This just isn't the case at the moment. Players are just too rich and proto gear too cheap. Even if a player runs out of isk from burning through too many proto fits, they can always fall back on their unlimited supply of starter fits. We as players have no consequence for being without isk and are not discouraged in the least from running our most expensive gear.

PS: I have around 8mil SP at the moment, only run standard/militia gear, and have killed and have been killed by people running proto gear many times.

The funnest matches come when the battles are neck and neck, tide changes; that's how you know it's the team as a whole who wins or loses. There's frustration when you are paired with noobies, or the other team is too good. It's a delicate balance.

Its not a bad idea , its just the player base is constant but low...

I think battles should have gear or meta levels, just like equipment, weapons and modules do, say there's regular matches where only STD gear can be spawned, matches for ADV gear and then free matches where you can boast around in proto-gear, that way both veterans and newbies can be happy and get to choose how to participate in battles. Maybe that would create virtual tiers or hangouts, you know, groups of players frequenting one match level, which would reduce the pool of potential games and foes but also make it more fair for beginners.

So I'd say that there needs to be an instant battle opition that opens up once you have, say, 7 Million SP allocated (or whatever number is deemed more appropriate). The option could just be called "Veteran Skirmish" or "Veteran Ambush," to keep thing simple. That option would only let you whip out ADV suits or PROTO ones.
