Cat Merc BetaMax. CRONOS. 1117	Posted - 2013.05.28 16:22:00 - [1] - Quote I have all armor skills maxed out, and the shield hp skills maxed out. I got on my suit two complex armor plates, putting my HP at 515 armor + 150 shield. And guess what? A sniper on shotted all of that, to the body. The body. And no, it wasn't a officer sniper, it was the ishukone one. And if that wasn't enough, I saw a heavy drop in one shot. So sniper risk level: low Sniper reward: Extremely high Yeah, this game is fun fun fun! Edit: I know very well that snipers are not supposed to have that much damage output. However that sniper I encountered does, that means that something is glitched.

You have to find a spot, a GOOD spot far from the battlefield, but open enough so that you don't get shot by one of you Tac AR using assholes, because the damn thing can countersnipe. Then you have to make the decision. - Run logi, have all your equipment, but a normal scan signature, you can be detected AND easily taken down by a countersniper (Tac AR) -Run scout, and have a hard time being found, now what do you want? Drop Uplink or Nanohive, you're ****** if someone comes close enough to you to engage you in Mid to CQC even with your SMG, so going to a Supply depot to restock is hell. -If you run scout you have LESS High slots, which means you either get your precision enhance (You find people easier, makes marking targets simple) or Damage Modifiers, Now, once you kill someone you MUST relocate, you have no choice you'll die if you don't and bear in mind, if someone sees you in AR range (Very far) or Tac AR range (Lol good luck getting away) You're done. Logi suits have normal speed and scout speeds are only slightly faster, you're not getting away. -City maps. LolCity maps. Don't even start there, you're just worthless there. Yeah risk is SO low.

And I know for a fact I wasn't headshotted, as I was shot in a place where only my body is visible to the sniper.

Ninjas on the prowl are fun enough to take them out but most ppl dont want to even invest the minimum into that and we have no mortar type weapons or jets yet. Maybe CCP will give us a gunship so we can have some reenacting of Rambo and Shooter.

It was a headshoot my friend.

A charge, which I use, has 322 base, even with 5 complex dmg mods, plus Sniper Pro, I can only hit 486 dmg per shot. Even a Thale can't hit 700, much less the Ishukone.

The problem with snipers is if you have more then 1 or 2, then your team immediately loses. Thats the downside.

I had a piece of cover that covers the head and most of my lower part of the body. Only a small part of the upper body was visible. I know that because I went around to check the piece of cover I was behind, to see how I was shot and if maybe it was a headshot.

The only real exception to that is a PROPERLY Shield/Armor Tanked Heavy. In fact, Snipers are just fine. If you aren't hitting hard enough as a sniper, then you should reconsider your fittings. Any sniper who uses a light frame suit or a suit with less than 4 high slots, should really not be complaining on the forums. The only exception to that is perhaps an aggressive sniper who thinks they can quick scope and get consistent kills. In general however, Assault Suit, Thale or Charge Sniper Rifle, 4-5 Damage Mods. Long range snipers have absolutely no need for defensive mods, your defensive is range and nest. If you get blind sided, then accept it, it happens from time to time, even the best of us get caught off guard.
