Okay now let's say CCP signed a 30, now i think 60 year contract with Sony. Well if you know anything at all about hardware & tech. You'd know that the PS3 is hard to make games for. Now it's either you're unappreciative, which most people who get free stuff ARE, or the lack of common sense has distorted your minds. Okay so if i just signed a 60 year contract with Sony, where would most of my attention be? I mean especially cause PS4 is basically a computer. (& On it's way!) Able to run games so much smoother, easier to code for, with a higher FR than PS3 could handle. Would your attention be on PS3 or PS4? Would you be thinking about the Present or the Future? With all the limitations PS3 has it's no wonder this game would still be considered beta to you people. Take a while to critique the whole game, because your right it may not be finished. It may be that their running tests on PS3 to see how people like it, so that when it Launches on PS4 it'll all be worth that wait for an exhilarating game.(Probably with completely new mechanics to it as well) Such as wall covering mechanics, huge maps, close to no lag(if any),destructive walls, completely revamped visuals/gameplay, ETC. Now i'm not going to take part in your lifelessness, & complain about everything with this game. Instead i'll clearly say, it does need some improvement. But at the cost of it not being fully capable on PS4? Think about it, all the time you make them spend working on a PS3 bs version. That's less time to work on PS4. Dust has way to much going on in it, for it to run smoothly. (My Opinion) So if you don't like it, then instead of bashing the game. Why don't you people offer idea's so that they can implement them on the PS4 version. Now think about this, & take it as your first ever Eye Opener on how the world works. If not then.. It's okay, keep forcing them eyelids open like you know it all. But people without stupiditiy in their veins know your just wearing Eye Speculums, to keep a closed eye open.. You seem to be saying that CCP released a beta product to the masses as a finished product because they are too busy working on a PS4 version. If they were working on a PS4 version that would still not be a reason to rush the PS3 version before it was ready. But, game balance and skill trees are not a coding problem, they are basic game design issues. It would be the same on the PS4. Finally, CCP must assume the majority of players won't buy a PS4 for at least another year, meaning they will need to support a PS3 client for at least two. The logic in shorting PS3 development for a two year PS4 launch is completely lacking. I'm talking in game lag issues here, not skill tree's. That's everyone's fault for not learning how to reading properly Trees is pluralized without an apostrophe, "how to reading" is an incorrect construction. Do not criticize reading with such poor writing. 1f y0u sp3nt 4s much t1m3 cr1t1z1ng my sp3ll1ng 4s much as y0u sh0uld hav3 1n g4m3 wh3n purch4s1ng sk1lls m4yb3 y0u w0uldn't b3 4sk1ng f0r 4 sk1ll r3s3t LOL

PS4 is not the reason DUST is the way it is. Dust is made for PS3 to be ported later when its feature complete. Abandoning a solidly established platform in favor of a maybe is stupid and obviously false.
DUST is in alpha stage. It isn't feature complete, (aka, in a state where it would be totally fine and fun to play for extended periods of time if development were to stop.) It lacks a huge roster of the things that were integral to the original vision for DUST.
The protests of DUST being fine need to stop and we need to create a focus for CCP to work on and deliver QUICKLY; maps, game modes, systems like capacitor, weapons, command mode, player dropped installations, player markets, heavier PI, more vehicles and dropsuits. And thats just a basic list. |

It will be always a "beta" if they changes all the game in every build. "Add content" is not the same than "beta". Because since the first build, CCP didn't save any weapon. They will never "add content" if they keep deleting all the game to make a new one. Most of the MMOs that were relases don't changes the currently game. You can see them adding content, but not changing the "base" of the game. So, I think you're not right.
The game is pretty beta. But it's ok. |

The point i'm making is that, by posting a comment in a thread 4 pages deep with a simplistic list of things that need work in this game that have already been brought up 2472050285092 times prior isn't creating a focus.
It is starting to become borderline impossible to post anything relatively constructive because the child-like people that come in a derail threads and turn them in to chest thumping, CCP bashing trash. It has worn on those like myself to the point where I don't even try to post something constructive because someone will come swooping in and derail it. |

Honestly, the OP's point is obvious and didn't need to turned into a post, much less a four page thread.
The testers (players) and the devs are both intimately aware of the incomplete and unbalanced nature of the game. DUST should still be in closed beta based on the fundamental changes happening.
But that's not a decision that developers get to make and it's certainly not a decision we testers get to make. It's a marketing decision and for better or worse it's been made.
Complaining about it isn't productive. The devs are fully aware so threadnoughts aren't necessary. What they need is time and our understanding assistance to get this thing into some semblance of release shape before the critics and general public write it off as a failure.
In my own small corner of the game I've been doing what I could for dropships. The thing is I realized this was a part of the game that is months out from full realization. There are fundamental changes that need to take place before the game needs dropships. Therefore I have changed my approach from pushing for fast fixes to one of waiting for CCP to define the dropship's mission before trying to help them realize the best vehicle for that mission. Trying to cobble together makework missions isn't the answer becasue it won't be connected to the heart of the game.
Getting hateful and impatient won't help piloting and could end up turning dropships into something they shouldn't be. I think the ADS is a prime example of a short term fix that steers the DS away from being a team tool and toward solo play. I think this happened because the team oriented missions aren't realized yet and CCP Blam wanted to give us something we could use now. |

"ALPHA" and "BETA" are archaic terms from a time when games were finished before they were shipped without any real way for developers to release additional content. In today's world of highspeed connections, content patches and DLC the terms are largely meaningless.
Until they establish the International Game Development Stage Nomenclature Task Force (INGADESTANOMETAFO) it is whatever CCP says it is because it's their game. That being said it is pretty rough to be released and it might turn a bunch of people off from it but whatever. It's their jobs on the line, not mine. |

I'm on guard, but I'm not worried. I think CCP realizes the magnitude of their project and obviously wants to see it succeed more than anyone. That said, White-Knighting by (probably) well-meaning players helps no one, certainly not CCP or Dust. We need less "hurr growing pains and perpetual beta" faggotry and more "We shall double our efforts!" |

LOL dust was made for the ps3, even if it going to be ported to the ps4 it dose not excuse blatant flaws in game mechanics,
Also remember the game has been around in one form or another for over 5 years thats pretty long.
I complain because nothing will improve if you just nod and bury your head in the sand, ideas were thrown at ccp through most of closed beta and mostly ignored, what we got was things that were good got changed and things that were not remained unchanged for most part.
So there you have it , a mediocre fps with mediocre mechanics trying to capture an audiance on what it may be like 1 or 2 years down the line.
Enjoy. |

GW2 didn't come out with only 3 races, THAT was beta. In fact I was in the eve online beta and they didn't release untill the races ships were at least even and sorta flushed out. We don't have minatar or amar turrets or tanks... whats up with that... Also I've never seen an mmo come out on release with broken features just sitting in the middle of the main lobby. Map table.... Eve online did not release with a lack of weapon systems the core of the game was in place and done. CCP had a year to flush it out and FAILED. Now they need to scramble to save the game in the next few months becuase it's obvious, painfully, this game is a work in progress. I've been supporting CCP for over 10 years I believe they can do it, but I believe they can lack focus at times. People JOKE about eve online being in beta for 10 years, but it hasn't been, it was in a beta untill release, and it was expanded apon. Dust doesn't even have the simple core done. I
