16 on 16 with some pretty basic graphics and weapons is hardly a place to say you're so cutting-edge it's gotta break. What's likely breaking this game is the absolutely slavish devotion to diversity for diversity's sake. Other game houses charge you $60 or so for something that works, and they stake their success at that price point on just that. CCP has pushed out a cleverly packaged promise of future functionality while delivering mediocrity of epic proportions. If it weren't for all the "let's play pretend" bits and collectibles fever, this game would be roundly denounced for what it is: Battlefield 1943 lite(tm). |

Well at least its not like The Old Republic at 2 billion USD and it flopped into a F2P model.
Since I don't really know, you're saying that no one complained about TOR? |

Skihids wrote:If you give everyone a complete respec, that points to beta.
If you offer an additional complete respec a few weeks later that screams beta.
CCP completely reworked the skill tree one week before "release" which didn't give us long enough to beta test it and leave time to fix issues.
We are still seeing huge balance changes such as the 10% weapons buff and the huge HP increases for (most) vehicles. That means we lack the stability required to be out of beta.
Now that's not to say you can't release an unfinished product. I've been in IT for over 25 years and I've seen plenty of projects that turn their customers into unwitting beta testers due to an inability or unwillingness to complete the project.
There may be business reasons for slapping a "Released" banner on a beta, and we can debate the wisdom of those reasons, but it doesn't change the facts. Either you meet the requirements be out of beta or you don't
You might fool the uninformed, but the player base is living this game and cannot help but be extremely aware of its state.
Which is why, until they really get a non-beta release out, they cannot in good conscience keep the money they harvested promising one thing and then releasing another. They should offer a complete refund of PSN funds for AUR and Merc Packs that return the refunded user to the FTP level they would currently occupy based solely on time spent with the game (active and passive). |

Now it's either you're unappreciative, which most people who get free stuff ARE, or the lack of common sense has distorted your minds. Okay so if i just signed a 60 year contract with Sony, where would most of my attention be? I mean especially cause PS4 is basically a computer. (& On it's way!) Able to run games so much smoother, easier to code for, with a higher FR than PS3 could handle. Would your attention be on PS3 or PS4? Would you be thinking about the Present or the Future? With all the limitations PS3 has it's no wonder this game would still be considered beta to you people. Take a while to critique the whole game, because your right it may not be finished. It may be that their running tests on PS3 to see how people like it, so that when it Launches on PS4 it'll all be worth that wait for an exhilarating game.(Probably with completely new mechanics to it as well) Such as wall covering mechanics, huge maps, close to no lag(if any),destructive walls, completely revamped visuals/gameplay, ETC. Now i'm not going to take part in your lifelessness, & complain about everything with this game. Instead i'll clearly say, it does need some improvement. But at the cost of it not being fully capable on PS4? Think about it, all the time you make them spend working on a PS3 bs version. That's less time to work on PS4. Dust has way to much going on in it, for it to run smoothly. (My Opinion) So if you don't like it, then instead of bashing the game. Why don't you people offer idea's so that they can implement them on the PS4 version. Now think about this, & take it as your first ever Eye Opener on how the world works. If not then.. It's okay, keep forcing them eyelids open like you know it all. But people without stupiditiy in their veins know your just wearing Eye Speculums, to keep a closed eye open..
Man, they really got to you, didn't they? So, we're to believe that instead of this being a case where CCP thought and said they could deliver more than they have, while hyping it through the roof and charging money to people who wanted to advance in the current product (not to mention those who just put in hour after hour of uncompensated beta-testing), it's really just a way to get us hooked on a pre-abandoned project to entice us to shell out again on an unreleased platform a game that will be utterly unlike what has even been promised to date?

It's okay, keep forcing them eyelids open like you know it all. But people without stupiditiy in their veins know your just wearing Eye Speculums, to keep a closed eye open.. You seem to be saying that CCP released a beta product to the masses as a finished product because they are too busy working on a PS4 version. If they were working on a PS4 version that would still not be a reason to rush the PS3 version before it was ready. But, game balance and skill trees are not a coding problem, they are basic game design issues. It would be the same on the PS4. Finally, CCP must assume the majority of players won't buy a PS4 for at least another year, meaning they will need to support a PS3 client for at least two. The logic in shorting PS3 development for a two year PS4 launch is completely lacking. I'm talking in game lag issues here, not skill tree's. That's everyone's fault for not learning how to reading properly Trees is pluralized without an apostrophe, "how to reading" is an incorrect construction. Do not criticize reading with such poor writing.

No it will be the same game with different mechanics & visuals. Same weapons & all that. Exactly who got to me? Sony? The PS4? Or CCP signing a 30+ year contract with Sony? Because first of all Sony had to pull some strings to Stream this game on PS3. Second Sony just bought Gaikai for the PS4 & that's for advanced streaming of games. Now think for a second, business is business right?
So, the same game, but completely different? Can we just say you won that part and move on? They could have released a decent place-holder that could have feasibly been brought out of beta, but instead they released this smoldering pile. In either case, they cannot be in the business of charging people for even optional components of this game if they have no real intention of making the very game you shell your shekels upon something worthy in it's own right. Now think for a second. This is what class action lawsuits are for, right? |
