So tonight during an FW match I rounded a corner and ran head on into a heavy. My blood ran cold as I accepted my fate; I was only about 2ft in front of him and I knew his HMG would tear me to shreds. Now I use the Amarr Asault mk.0 with 400 armor and 250 shield but still figured my death would be quick. In desperation I switched from my ELM-7 to my Toxin SMG and unloaded into this heavy.
I killed him with only my shields depleted and 20 points taken out of my armor (which my repairer was already starting to rep).
I felt AWFUL.
This was a full blown heavy with HMG two feet in front of my face unloading his HMG into me and I simply took him out with the Toxin. IDK what you did CCP but I used to fear heavies, now I know to simply rush them. I don't play heavies at all, but after my encounter tonight I see that the HMG needs some love. |

+1 I had a similar experience with my Minmatar Scout. I was charging at him from behind, but he noticed me, turned around and opened fire within ~15-20ft. I literally tanked the damage and carved him up before my shields even depleted. As he bled out, I squatted down. Not to teabag, but as a sign of grief. HMG needs some TLC... |

I'm not sure what happened either, but I feel sorry for all the heavies out there. They should have remained a force to be feared. Now they command little to no respect on the field. It makes me sad. Hopefully the other three racial variants will be better for them. |

O.o are you sure that it was a full blown heavy? Or that a blue berry didn't help you out in taking him out? Or a sniper for that matter? CCP just gave our hmg's a buff the other day and we are doing awesome. I went 45/8 and 40/5 yesterday so im having a little difficulty in believing this. I don't doubt that you didn't kill him but there has to be something else for this to happen.
Also think about it your mini assault suit has 650 hp the heavy probably had about 800-900 hp. Shields are an hmg's annoyance.
You where probably flanking him fast enough that he couldn't track you with his HMG adequately. there is this little area where a HMG works. to far away and the hmg barely does any damage, but if your in his face like literally in his face he cant track you when you circle him because your bouncing around fast enough that he kind of has to wave his hmg all over the place just to hit you. this ones dangerous though because to get in his face you have to cross that are where he will destroy you if he sees you before you could get there.
He was probably surprised when you turned that corner and started waving his hmg around trying to hit you. |

Got in a knife fight with 2 heavies... killed one ran away... came back OHK the other and then proceeded to hunt the first one as he spawned in with gastuns and was being an overall douche.

A lot of the newer heavies think they can tank dmg.... not without 2 core rep tools on you.
I see a lot more bad heavies now than in chromosome. |

So far only time ive been killed by knifes is when they get me from behind. Those things are evil now. But i don't mind, that guy was smart and attacked me from behind. Everytime one of them tries rushing me from the front they die though so it feels pretty even to me. |

1) I was in Amarr Assault using armor plates bumping my HP up to 400 and I had a shield extender (along with my shields skills) so my shield was at 250...idk where you got mini and those numbers.
2) It was just him and I. I would have noticed if a sniper got a shot on him because I would have seen a huge chunk of his bar suddenly disappear. His shields went down quickly with the toxin and slowed when I got to his armor, but still went down at a steady rate.
3) I didn't flank or strafe...I was caught so off guard by his presence I literally panic mag dumped into him which maybe caught him off guard - IDK. |

My scout has complex shields extenders. But only one. Geez... arent forge guns suppose to take out tanks?! did they nerf em? |

I dont know if you are referring to me as a AR cryhard.... lol
I was a heavy up untill the last to months of chromosome. Been around since the firat build so I know about wvery change they have gone through.
Maybe I should reword what I wrote.
When I came around a corner and bumped into a heavy in chromosome I used to say " oh **** a heavy!"
Now I say " aaaaah look its a heavy...."
My caldari logi has more ehp than most heavies, I deal more damage than most heavies with my sub....
Heavies need more than just a dmg buff. GIVE THEM THE CALDARI HEAVY! MORE HIGH SLOTS! ARMOR HARDENING MODULES FOR DROPSUITS!!! |

I too run heavy and have had several similar experiences such as that, along with getting torn to shreds from longer ranges as well. lvl5 gun skills and about 1k hp on my suit.
Now, I'm not the best player out there, but I'm certainly not the worst either and I've been beaten more often than not in situations where I think I should have won the battle.

LOL
I have never gotten that in my heavy since the new build (almost 8m SP toon)
Only time I get anywhere close to those numbers is when I run something OTHER than my heavy...
best my heavy's ever done now is breaking even around 8/8

You don't wanna run like that without two logis man. Stacking armor mods makes you slow in running and turning. I understand the thought that the more HP you have the better you do but you'll do better with two damage mods two armor reps and one armor plate. It keeps you less sluggish than other heavies plus the reps really help you out after killing someone because your always being repped. Logis rep you faster as well because of it. also a big part of it is your damage. a heavies damage is one of his biggest buffers. with the damage mods your damage increases a tiny bit yes but it really helps alot because of your 2000 rof. Keep out of guys lines of sight after you kill one so that you can reload and start your shield and armor reps up. Try to get in a spot where you can kill a guy without the other two seing you. If you get him fast enough he won't have musch time to take out much more of your shields. And of course nothing beats tactics. Most of this stuff is obvious i know but it helps. |

I dont know if you are referring to me as a AR cryhard.... lol Nope, referring to anyone who is, they know who they are. The ones who hate the less twitch, more strafe direction Uprising has gone from Chrome. The ones spoiled by the casualness of the modern FPS genre where all you need is fast reflexes and the ability to hold down R1 for a few seconds. Dust 514 in general has exposed the weakness in their gun game: sustained aim. I may not have the same reflexes I did in my younger years, but I can lock on to a target like it's nobody's business.
At least before the +10% increase it was balanced enough where they could fit themselves to play twitch style and compete with someone with a steady hand and likewise but that's gone again...
These cryhards, want Dust to be watered down to another generic FPS clone with a spread sheet that doesn't matter. They were all elated when the blanket +10% damage bonus their AR didn't need (but other weapons did) was implemented so they can beat people with damage instead of a steady hand. Dust has raised the skill ceiling for FPS gamers, and it intimidates them. These people are the reason why vehicles have been nerfed to novelty and why Chrome was such a pub stomp slaughter fest and they want to do the same to Uprising. They hold back progress and are the cancer that's killing any and all creativity in the entire FPS genre. Next time you see someon QQ about something that's not an AR being OP and more AR using QQers engage in a tearful circlejerk about it, ask yourself. "Is this the kind of person Cosgar was talking about?" |
