I do my job as best I can, I get my teammates from objective to objective, pick them up when their under fire, distract enemy tanks and take them out along with installations, all while paying a boat load of SP and ISK to do so. And I get nothing. At all. Nothing but disappointment and aggravation. And that's as a vet pilot with a rapidly dwindling supply of millions of ISK. It's a joke that CCP does not care about, at all. Period.
Sounds 100% correct. I front all the cost, and gain nothing but rage. All we ever DO get is lip service. They say one thing and do the opposite. It's more than aggravating.
At this point one could objectively state that we've been consistently lied to. Try to argue against that point, I dare anyone.

idk, I've had to (virtually) AFK a ton to pay for this stuff.
10 games of ground pounding fail for every DS lost. I can make 20x more WP failing terribly on the ground versus in my ship though.
I'll have to compare some WP stats with other players and see where I'm at. |

I'm going to do an experiment later today, once I calm down from raging over the bull kitten that is being a pilot.
I'm going to fly for 5 games of skirmish as best I can, trying not to die while doing my job. I'm going to add up my losses and stack them against my ISK gained, along with how much SP I gain.
Then, I am going to afk for the first time, for 5 games. I'll add up my losses and stack them against my ISK gained, along with how much SP I gain.
I'm curious to see what is more profitable; being a team player, or sitting in the MCC with a cup of joe. |

I need to just leave the forums for right now, the rage is WAY too strong in this one.
Anyone could tell you how that'll go
5 skirmish, long games, rail tanks come out. Eat 5+ thousand damage from 500 meters away, You'll probably lose at least 3 ships maybe all 5. Assuming you limit yourself to one ship per game.
That'll be at least 4 million lost, perhaps 7.5 million lost. You'll gain somewhere around 100-150 ISK per match.
So you'll come out in the negative with at least 5 million ISK. between all 5 games, you might reach a total of 1000 SP.
Then when you afk it'll be all profit and after those 5 games AFKing you'll have made back the price of somewhere between a half to a whole dropship :)
So you'll have to play around (average) 40-50 games at 150isk per pop to gain back your losses. Have fun! |

"We love dropships, we know they're in a bad spot. We know we need to give them some buffs and rewards. We know we need to lower the prices. We're going to make things very nice for pilots! "
And then they eviscerate PG, raise the prices, quadruple SP requirements, give us a more expensive gimmicky ship to be shot down as easily, and start talking about giving forge guns infinite range.

(expensive)
If you'd like to experience how costly, squishy, and ineffective they can be add me in game. I'll let you fly my maxed out ships if you transfer the isk over lol. See how long till you go broke. I lost 20 million yesterday and I was doing pretty good.
If you play more than 5 games you'll lose at least a million to some RDV spawning inside you and there'll be nothing you can do about it. Now imagine trying to recoup those funds with zero SP in drop suits.
No kidding, if the mechanics are there in game for you to donate ISK to your corp and them to me, I'll give you some DS training and hand you the wheel on any setup you can imagine. |

It's not even doomsaying, it's just plain truth. It's not QQ or HTFU either. It's ridiculous and you're right. Since Assault and AV out number us 1000 to 1 we're just meant to be clay pidgins for everyone to enjoy blasting millions of ISK out of the sky with some free, zero SP militia forge guns. Except this backfires when all DS pilots either go on strike or just quit the game. I think we've had enough patience. And most of that patience was based on promises and statements made about Uprising. Now after all this, they're on borrowed time. It's quickly depleting if not gone already.
LMAO, its gonna back fire when you protest or stop playing. Your 1 in 1000 comes out to a grand total of 5.

I say this as a heavy: I love blasting you out of the sky, but I also love catching a ride to an objective (not to mention being a gunner). I really hope CCP pops into this thread and says they are buffing DSs along with the other vehicles. DSs need to be between HAVs and LAVs in armor IMO. 10 WP (or more, say 25) per passenger picked up, 50 WP for killing an enemy clone (assault DS only atm, barring roadkilling one lol), 25 for your gunners nailing one. Turrets need a buff, they need their range greatly extended so gunners can protect the DS better. They need to be much more deadly to infantry on the ground. DSs need to be able to defend themselves against other vehicles, not just be a big, fat target. My 0.02 ISK |

i would more focus on the Logistic dropships they really need the love the assault DS is nimble enough for the quick hit and runs
might be fun to take off the guns on the logi DS would free up the fitting they need and the mobile mobile cru would give them a niche as a mobile tactical insertion.
maybe not this but, they need some kinda love.

And if I did this I would get a grand total of zero SP and isk per match. Oh but when the rail tank or forge snipes me out of nowhere I'll still be out a million.

Piloting attracts some of the most dedicated people in this game, and yet we continually get shafted, with LAV's and tanks attracting the majority of vehicle buffs.
Was playing a skirmish earlier and almost rage quit, there is something so very wrong with dropships. My python an aircraft with 6 million sp behind it and a which costs a million isk, was made ineffective by one guy with a militia AV kit that couldn't have cost over 5000 ISK total and which needs no sp behind it at all, and then the cherry on the ******* cake, a guy on a railgun installation, which is cometely free iThe whole concept of risk vs reward is one of the most important parts of the EVE universe, and there is something very wrong with a system where one player takes an awful lot of risk and gets very little reward, and another player takes very little risk and gets an awful lot of reward. |

gbghg, I actually did rage quit this morning, DUST has become infinitely less enjoyable now that I'm a dedicated pilot.
Rail gun turrets, both on tanks and installations, are by far THE most rage inducing thing to me as a pilot.

Armor tanking is no where near useful enough at the moment to justify making the Gallente ships so heavy and unresponsive. They can be flown, sure, but you are significantly more vulnerable in the fact that you can't quickly disengage if you aren't constantly moving.
At the very least, you'd think we would have a higher max speed (which you'd have to be really careful with, to avoid flinging yourself into objects / planets, unless you're into that sort of thing) In practice though, it seems like the Gallente ship (logistics) just tops out at a fairly sluggish pace, while keeping its horrendous acceleration and lift.
The real tragedy here in my opinion, is that Assault Dropships are not, "more agile"
That is a clever play on words. What they really meant to say, is that Assault Dropships didn't have their handling butchered, and were gifted with a higher flight ceiling (hover technology tricky business I guess?). They handle pretty much like the last dropships, and logistics were just taken down a peg. The "buff" to logistics ships (increased CPU/PG, tyvm for that btw) was actually a "fix", as many pilots can tell you, the Eryx and Prometheus have always been dead ships, thanks to the inherent negatives of MCRU's (stupid / afk blueberries come to mind), coupled with the lack of bonuses associated for the negative of not being able to properly fit an already flimsy ship.
Nevermind that while afk guys are soaking up 25 WP every time someone spawns on the uplink they took 2 seconds to toss down, we're earning nothing for having idiots help our team lose by not getting out, because you apparently can't figure out a system that says GTFO ma SHIP BIZNITCH. Is it that hard to let inertia dampeners activate as soon as you leave the ship? I mean, seriously? If they die in the red zone, you take -50 points. Happy? Both sides can be trolled, everyone is devious, everyone is happy. Probably not, no one is ever freaking happy.
I know I'm not. I mad bro. I know there are only "so many hours in a day", but perhaps someone can tell me the math to how many hours there are in a year, because that's how long it took to fix logistics ships.
Even at 20 points per spawn would mean you would need 50 spawns (lol?) on your ship to hit 1000 WP in a match. There are a few pilots / gunners who can do some nice damage, but lets say both your gunners get 15 kills (good shootin bros) that's 1050 (?) points.
I don't personally know how other games go about deployment and extraction bonuses and stuff like that, but now that I think about it....if anything we should be getting small amounts of points for a wide variety of activities. Just a steady trickle of 5 /10 / 15 points if you're actually being useful and your teammates are being useful.
I stepped away for a while and have no idea where I was go
