We are the whipping post of DUST 514. There aren't enough of us, so CCP just puts us on the backlog over and over and over again.
It's not even doomsaying, it's just plain truth. |

I'd just like to clarify while I'm here that I became a pilot in Uprising specifically to help my corporation in PC and FW. I was well aware that CCP has no immediate plans to help us become an actual, sustainable profession; however, that doesn't mean I can't provide my feedback over the issue. One of the most glaring issues is how it's quite obvious that ONLY veteran players with an excess of SP an ISK can become pilots, as the cost is far too steep for a new player to learn, coupled with the abysmal SP gains which means they must take longer and longer to be good at what they want to do.
Unlike most players, my own personal SP doesn't even matter to me. I have almost enough to be a maxed out pilot, so I can do the best that CCP will let me do for my team.
However, I believe that all aspects of this game should be fun and rewarding for new and veteran players alike; Dropships do not fit into that idea as they stand, and have stood for over a year now. The only changes we receive are things that make our job increasingly more difficult (and unlike just about every other playstyle in DUST, we tend to welcome it, since we enjoy how skill based flying is)
It just sucks that CCP decides we aren't important to them, because there aren't enough of us. |

Should make a lot of people happy.
As usual, everyone but DS pilots |

I'm fairly convinced that CCP decided to keep dropships in the game as part of a betting pool. They all gathered around before Uprising was launched and took bets on how many people would skill into dropships, and how long it would take them all to smash their PS3s.
It's really the only logical explanation I can think of. |

I've basically lost all faith that dropships will be touched this year. All we ever get is lip service.
I do my job as best I can, I get my teammates from objective to objective, pick them up when their under fire, distract enemy tanks and take them out along with installations, all while paying a boat load of SP and ISK to do so. And I get nothing. At all. Nothing but disappointment and aggravation.
And that's as a vet pilot with a rapidly dwindling supply of millions of ISK.
It's a joke that CCP does not care about, at all.
Period. |

I'm going to do an experiment later today, once I calm down from raging over the bull kitten that is being a pilot.
I'm going to fly for 5 games of skirmish as best I can, trying not to die while doing my job. I'm going to add up my losses and stack them against my ISK gained, along with how much SP I gain.
Then, I am going to afk for the first time, for 5 games. I'll add up my losses and stack them against my ISK gained, along with how much SP I gain.
I'm curious to see what is more profitable; being a team player, or sitting in the MCC with a cup of joe. |

gbghg, I actually did rage quit this morning, DUST has become infinitely less enjoyable now that I'm a dedicated pilot.
Rail gun turrets, both on tanks and installations, are by far THE most rage inducing thing to me as a pilot.

Armor tanking is no where near useful enough at the moment to justify making the Gallente ships so heavy and unresponsive. They can be flown, sure, but you are significantly more vulnerable in the fact that you can't quickly disengage if you aren't constantly moving.
At the very least, you'd think we would have a higher max speed (which you'd have to be really careful with, to avoid flinging yourself into objects / planets, unless you're into that sort of thing) In practice though, it seems like the Gallente ship (logistics) just tops out at a fairly sluggish pace, while keeping its horrendous acceleration and lift.
The real tragedy here in my opinion, is that Assault Dropships are not, "more agile"
That is a clever play on words. What they really meant to say, is that Assault Dropships didn't have their handling butchered, and were gifted with a higher flight ceiling (hover technology tricky business I guess?). They handle pretty much like the last dropships, and logistics were just taken down a peg. The "buff" to logistics ships (increased CPU/PG, tyvm for that btw) was actually a "fix", as many pilots can tell you, the Eryx and Prometheus have always been dead ships, thanks to the inherent negatives of MCRU's (stupid / afk blueberries come to mind), coupled with the lack of bonuses associated for the negative of not being able to properly fit an already flimsy ship.
Nevermind that while afk guys are soaking up 25 WP every time someone spawns on the uplink they took 2 seconds to toss down, we're earning nothing for having idiots help our team lose by not getting out, because you apparently can't figure out a system that says GTFO ma SHIP BIZNITCH. Is it that hard to let inertia dampeners activate as soon as you leave the ship? I mean, seriously? If they die in the red zone, you take -50 points. Happy? Both sides can be trolled, everyone is devious, everyone is happy. Probably not, no one is ever freaking happy.
I know I'm not. I mad bro. I know there are only "so many hours in a day", but perhaps someone can tell me the math to how many hours there are in a year, because that's how long it took to fix logistics ships.
Even at 20 points per spawn would mean you would need 50 spawns (lol?) on your ship to hit 1000 WP in a match. There are a few pilots / gunners who can do some nice damage, but lets say both your gunners get 15 kills (good shootin bros) that's 1050 (?) points.
I don't personally know how other games go about deployment and extraction bonuses and stuff like that, but now that I think about it....if anything we should be getting small amounts of points for a wide variety of activities. Just a steady trickle of 5 /10 / 15 points if you're actually being useful and your teammates are being useful.
I stepped away for a while and have no idea where I was go
