2. It generates what I like to call reset fatigue, anyone who has quite a few fits or a specially particular style of play assets or are a bit eccentric (like Entity) would have to spend HOURS getting back to where they where yesterday via setting up, buying things, re-configuring everything in their possession, this quickly becomes a chore in a game where resets even if equal valued to meet the same potential previously before the reset. Agreed As far as fatigue after 7 months, I just want to get real and play for keeps.
Neither of these things would result from a one-time only, end-of-Beta, optional respec.
No false expectancy, no fatigue, one time only, between Beta and Launch.
After that, all bets are off, and all decisions are final, but no player should be punished for decisions made during a BETA.
A Beta, by it's very nature, is a learning process. |

Ccp kind of missed out on opportunity here, if they let us respec a few times in this window we would end a lot of confusion and do a more thorough testing of the game. |

This update introduced too many drastic changes to not allow the players any room for error, IMO. |

EDIT for clarity of though: an extra respec is unnecessary there is nothing new to skill into and there for no reason to allow a reallocation of sp. if there was a big update that would warrant the reallocation of sp that would be different but if you simply didn't do your research before skilling thats nobodies problem but yours.
the reallocation of sp is a big deal and i think it should carry more weight than "i wasn't happy with my choice".
After playing as a Heavy for 9 months, why the hell should I change like everyone else to AR just because that's all this game caters too now. I skilled into what I know, what I'm used too and how I like to play. I wasn't suddenly going to be another duvolle sheep. The range of every weapon is pitiful, that's why so many are using the Tact AR. It's bullcrap that this has simply became AR 514. Shotguns and HMG's have been over-nerfed to the point where it's almost useless using them. Don't even think about ADS with either of them, unless you put your x and y sensitivity to 100... and your target is a turtle. You might be able to keep up with his sidestrafing then... maybe. |

ITT thread, people against respecs because they want to keep others at a disadvantage.
Me? I carelessly spent 2 mill on the wrong racial basic suits, do I expect a respec? No, it was my own fault, i wasn't paying attention.
The situation with tankers is different however, simply changing the description or refunding that skill tree is not enough. there are people who decided their entire play-styles based on having certain bonuses. CCP should be thanking these players for finding mistakes in their skill system, not punishing them.
"You shouldn't have blown all your SP so early, you should have done research and waited for feedback". Some people did do research, which ended up rendered useless thanks to a mistake from CCP. feedback? from who? You mean these very same people who made mistakes so you wouldn't have too?
You not wanting a respec in the future just because you didn't make mistakes, or have to put up with CCP's, is purely selfish.
Though I agree with Iron Wolf in that we should wait till the skill tree is fixed before we get a respec, not the 14th. |
