I'm tired of you guys. You have ridiculous amounts of HP, yet are crying. Stop relying on the HMG as a crutch. The Heavy is a monster in it's class. In Uprising you've been given more HP.
The HMG was OP at a high range. When it can destroy you from up on top of the mid platform on the 4 point map, its fine.
The ONLY buff you needed was a module slot in the prototype and maybe advanced tiers.
Honestly, ask any infantry player, and they will tell you, that a Heavy is the most annoying class to face. Of course proto duvolles will kill you as range. Of course you will destroy them within 15 m.
Heavy's will never be as strong as they once were. You guys mulched down everyone when people were in the early stages. Now you're crying cause they hurt back.
Also, 17-5 with Heavy and Gek. Type 2 all standard, killing Proto's like it's nothing. |

Do you play heavy? 2 days ago i skilled into a type 2 standard assult class with 413 sheilds and a gek with no sharpshooter, damage mods, or profficentcy and that suit and class is the monster, i cant belive how good you assult classes have it its ******** OP. Stop your crying about heavys being good enough already their not compared to upper tier assult/logi suits. The biggist thing that seperates the classes are the skill levels. I go very many deaths and little kills as a heavy every game. ppl know. Now this assult suit? this standard assult, this is the ****. I hardly everrr die. Ever! and the gek is so crazy in any situation after playing as both its plain to see the assult suit and AR is simply better. Period. I understand why this game ONLY promotes assults and nerfs everything else EVERY new build. Because the only class you should be playing is assult |

Before you scrubs accuse me of something, I play Scout. I can still probably take on any of you in a 1 v 1.
Scouts are ridiculous. Yet, we've adapted. Yesterday, I was in an ambush. People were all crowded up in this one room, and it was a standoff. So I ran behind them, sprayed in my Creo Shotgun and picked up 11 kills.
For every good Assault, there's 50 bad ones that you don't notice because you just wipe through them.
However, even a militia Heavy can hold off a point against up to 3 guys on his own.
Bet you guys felt pretty good wiping the floor with militia players, now you can't pull your own weight. |

Heavies originally meant to be able to go toe to toe with a vehicle. They had massive HP. But they also had a powerful Anti infantry weapon, the HMG, so they nerfed the Heavy.
Also, yes, Heavies are the most annoying to face. Whenever I see a group of two to three people, I usually engage. If that group has a heavy, I will pass or wait for a better time. |

Oh, how I do love my Flux Grenades.
I'm sticking through the patch as a dedicated Heavy, but I'll have to see exactly how bad HMG is getting nerfed before I decided to switch to AR or something else. In my opinion, HMG should have lost all range extension skills, and that's it.
By the way, odd side effect of the suit/weapon price equalization:
HMG Heavy is going to go from the most expensive suit to field to the cheapest.
Why? Having fewer slots means less ISK to lose per death, since suit and weapon cost will be the same.
Weird, eh? |

Pretty bold to say we cant carry our weight on something that hasnt been put into action yet.
There is still much to be added to this game, eventually many more weapons will be added. Maybe sooner than soon(tm). They did say they will be patching in more stuff.
I for one think that everyone needs to just calm down. Play it when it comes and find out how a class works, find the class for your play style and go with that. Its that simple.
Im a Heavy player btw and I have not been bitching, just a little dissapointed. |

Heavies are not slayers. It will never happen... ever. Your role is to hold down objectives with support. You do it better than any other class. Of course the Assault role is going to be better at running and gunning because that is our role. |

Anyway, kudos to you for making the scout work, but your using it as intended. Scouts are supposed to run very fast and dodge and weave. Whereas heavies are supposed to be able to tank damage. Right now, they can't tank any better than an assault. Sure we have maybe 100 or 200 more hp, but that goes away in a flash thanks to the duvolle AR that can deal damage faster than a proto HMG. |

Except, that isn't true.
Within optimal range, Duvolle AR DPS is 539.21 Within optimal range, Basic HMG DPS is 674.67
If you died to a Duvolle straight up, it's because he juked better or you didn't get him in your optimal range.
Don't get me wrong, I play heavy exclusively, I die to Duvolles plenty, and I'm chafing at the patch notes too. But let's say things that are accurate, k?
(And if you mention damage mods, I'm going to have to whip out the hardcore math spanking.) |

While HMGs may have higher DPS, that is only if ALL ROUND HIT, which never happens except at close range, after spin up, or with skills that I believe are being removed. |

40m is outside of optimal for all but Assault HMG. (Technically, the very limit of the Broadside.)
You are discussing range, and not damage. |

Damm Jason you should be in the CPM Maybe you could give heavies and especially tanks to the place where they need to be. on topic though ok heavies get a buff very nice now maybe one extra slot for the proto heavy and maybe just a bit more base armor. Given that logis maybe also get the ability to field repair tools that give more than 100 hp/s will also make heavies more viable in battle. So heavies are definitely close.
On the weapon side heavies where intended to fight tanks right. not infantry and when firing a hip fired weapon you can't really expect a lot of accuracy. |

Okay let's look at what's happening with the Heavies atm. First The Good: Very small HP buff, 4 low slots, cheaper suits, and weapons. The Bad: The new suit is as slow as they type 1 (not a big deal), 1 high slot, damage and range nerf. In my opinion as a veteran Heavy this doesn't totally balance out.

I mean it's not like we can get WP from the team resupply nanohives we carry, or drop uplinks , or revive people , or heal . It's not like we are effective hacking things. The only things we get war points for is killing things....yet you say we should not be killers.

Its a support weapon. Its not an 'on point' style weapon as the Assault Rifle's are. I am sure we will still see plenty of minigun kills. |

Damm Jason you should be in the CPM Maybe you could give heavies and especially tanks to the place where they need to be. on topic though ok heavies get a buff very nice now maybe one extra slot for the proto heavy and maybe just a bit more base armor. Given that logis maybe also get the ability to field repair tools that give more than 100 hp/s will also make heavies more viable in battle. So heavies are definitely close. On the weapon side heavies where intended to fight tanks right. not infantry and when firing a hip fired weapon you can't really expect a lot of accuracy. If their not expected to fight infantry why did CCP give them a giant ******* minigun? Its a support weapon. Its not an 'on point' style weapon as the Assault Rifle's are. I am sure we will still see plenty of minigun kills.
^^^^^^ I think someone else answered your question HMG heavy (with a bit more ehp and a logi or 2 repping him) are awesome at bursting into a room firing all over the place like a maniac and killing people. HMG = closer range (didn't say CQC) AR's and SR's are much more versatile. |

HMG Changes I could argue the merits of if they're mild on the damage side, but mucking with the slot layout is baffling to me.
I wonder if it's just to Amarr Heavy suits, and that the original Heavy slot layout would be reflected in Minmatar/Gallente/Caldari versions...
Bah. Doesn't matter much, I guess, since we aren't getting them until SOONGäó.
Time to totally rethink my play style. |

The only way heavies can score is in combat, either with assists or kills, but if they lower the damage of what CCP passes of as a Heavy machine gun then it's be dealing less than half damage of an AR, and less damage per hit than an SMG.
Why would I go a weapon with bad range and damage, as well as be super slow? may as well take an AR over an HMG since it does the job better. |

The HMG was OP at a high range. When it can destroy you from up on top of the mid platform on the 4 point map, its fine.

Stop your crying about heavys being good enough already their not compared to upper tier assult/logi suits. The biggist thing that seperates the classes are the skill levels. I go very many kills and deaths as a heavy every game. ppl know. Now this assult suit? this standard assult, this is the ****. I hardly everrr die. Ever! and the gek is so crazy in any situation after playing as both its plain to see the assult suit and AR is simply better. Period. I understand why this game ONLY promotes assults and nerfs everything else EVERY new build. Because the only class you should be playing is assult LOLOLOL basing your opinion on Pubs Come up against me or any decent player and say AR is easymode. Heavies are not slayers. It will never happen... ever. Your role is to hold down objectives with support. You do it better than any other class. Of course the Assault role is going to be better at running and gunning because that is our role.

What game are you playing? Can I play too? My Type-II will get squashed by two guys running GEKs. Even In a 1v1 I will take enough damage to my armor that I will be crippled for the next battle. Even a derp with a militia assault rifle can do significant damage. especially from range. "Well don't engage them from range, duh" you may be thinking. Believe me we try. But imagine your suit only moves half as fast as your current one. Now imagine that whenever you're out in the open, EVERYONE shoots at you and you can't slow down to shoot back then you will die strafing because your hitbox is bigger than the broad side of a barn. Now imagine that in most maps there is little cover for traversing the map, if you get in a vehicle you will likely get swarm'd, and if you play smart and stay in one area and your team sucks you will be the last one left and just get swarmed. We literally have it the worst out of all the classes in this build, and its going to be even worse next build.
Seriously, CCP took a big steaming **** on heavies in uprising. Made our type-2's slower, and made our weapons even crappier than they already were. If you can't see that then I highly recommend you trying to play a heavy and see how well you do. It's harder than it looks, the rewards are smaller, and the risks are greater. At least they equalized the cost but that's not going to make it any better. |
