I am going to be 2 shotting heavies with a scrambler rifle anyways. Headshots ftw. So yeah go ahead and qq about the weapon that is countered by everything with a pulse. That's fine by me.

They aren't expensive anymore. The HMG and Heavy suit now cost the same as an AR and Assault suit of the same meta level. A Heavy can easily be cheaper than an Assault, now. (Though equipment is getting cheaper, too.)
You guys did get nerfed pretty hard, but it looks like there is no longer any "game balance via cost" going on between the suits.
Everybody take a deep breath. Let's see how this all shakes out before drowning each other in tears. |

Thank you, was just about to say this. Prices have been flattened, so the HMG definitely needed a bit of a down grade to match all that. Also, the hit detection is likely better, so things at very close range might melt more consistently, as well they should. |

lol. Every other weapon loses to these weapons, that has nothing to do with the AR at all. In reality, the AR was beating every other weapon in their optimal range in the game, and will always beat these 4 outside of their optimal range. |

Heavy damage and range has been decreased, and hp has been increased. This makes me think that CCP is trying to make the heavy a short to mid range damage absorber that suppresses/disperses the enemy and creates area denial.
I'm not in favor or against these changes, but just want to point out where I think CCP is trying to take the heavy. |

Ive destroyed laser rifles, snipers, and shotguns using the AR and normally at their preferred range the only one I haven't destroyed at their preferred range are snipers and even then Ive taken face fulls of sniper shots and not been dropped when i was moving up to put them down.

Just because the majority of players are bad this does not mean the AR is amazing. It means players are bad. I have destroyed a player who was using a hot viziam with dmg mods in their effective range but that does not mean the AR should do that....the player was just bad. You cannot destroy a shotgunner in CQC unless the shotgunner is bad and missing you. I swear the arguments on these forums are so filled with logical fallacies its not even funny. Seriously where did you get your reasoning from....because you need to go ask for a refund because its defective. |

lololol i laughed when i read it. But the AR's wont have quite the range they do now either.
If i was a heavy id be mostly pissed on the damage. But at the same time most of your shots probably didnt register in first place, so if they really did enhance the base game the damage nerf hopefully wont be noticeable. Plus, you guys do get some nice suits coming along.
Edit: I havent seen a QQ thread over a heavy since god knows when... so pushing the blame onto AR people is a cop out. Learn to adapt. |

If that's the case we are foing to need more than 60... sorry, 75 (with bonuses) moreHP. Thats about 2 bullets. Not enough to maake us serious damage absorbers. |

Perhaps, but we also don't have any damage or range reduction numbers as far as I know (if I am wrong please do tell me). So 50 hp could be relatively fair depending on how much the others are reduced.
Anyway, you're right it isn't too much of an increase, but I was just trying to speak to the general philosophy of the heavy role, and not so much as to how the hard numbers will play out. |

Don't forget that quite a few HMG rounds miss their target, plus the efficiency of the HMG drops quickly. AR at mid range can kill with about 20 or 30 rounds, HMG takes 120-180. |

Exactly. The ADS ability of the HMG is crap, AR is amazing by comparison because it lets you put all your rounds in the same spot. And don't for gwt the difference in the size/speed of targets and how that affects everything too.

ARs have no kick or dispersion to worry about every one of our shots can be reasonably expected to hit especially with all the -5% dispersion skills that are in the skill book line up. a heavy have a much higher rate of not hitting their target. I would have prefered that they at least got a range buff along with that damage nerf then you could reason that they are meant for area-denial and suppression like the MD and SR are, but no ccp didn't. |

not to mention the actual heavy SUIT looked buffed. the amarr sentinel i saw had 4 low slots and over 800 base health. and was also made cheaper isk wise to be in line with the other suits.
so yah, that one gun has been nerfed, but in every other aspect the heavy role seems to have been buffed. |

HTFU.
As of this current build, I get killed by HMGs outside of my AR's maximum range. That isn't working as intended. Maybe, MAYBE the damage nerf was over the top, but everything seems to have some form of nerf this build, and I am seeing a hell of a lot more QQ from heavies than I do from the rest. |

probably b/c HMGs lost BASE DMG & RANGE plus no ss or wpnry skills.. oh yea we have 1 high slot too so no stacking ANYTHING especially dmg mods.. plus were slower now too, and running while strafing LMAO!! so now only 30% of 425 rounds will hit.. IMO thats like 6 nerfs if you thought about it in complete game play |
