Change the skill cap to roll over every week. If you don't hit the cap a certain week, it gets added to the cap next time it resets. If this happens it will basically save the game from being dead due to lack of new players within 6 months. You can thank me later. |

While I love this idea could you please explain how this would help bring new players to the game as apposed to the system we have now. I'm sure it would more than likely reduce or eliminate afk farming, but other than that how would it really help out new players?
+1 for the great post though. |

+1 for the great post though. Because instead of being forced to play so you don't fall behind every week, you'll be able to play when you want to, like an actual game should. There are going to be times when you want to take a break from dust and times where you'll want to play the **** out of it. We shouldn't be punished for not wanting to play. EVE players sure as hell don't since they can set their skills to be learned automatically (without even having to log in) since everything is 100% passive. I'd rather play the game than have it play me. |

+1 for the great post though. Well... they could not play until they have a nice bit of passive SP, without losing out on any active SP. |

There's a difference eve is a subscription based game so if you want to pay and not log in that's on you CCP still get there cash. You still need to log in to change a skill or to set your Queue |

Even free games don't punish you for not playing a certain amount of time every week. Imagine if WoW or Diablo followed a B/S formula like this where the xp you would gain is eternally lost if you don't play. Basically, while everyone is able to get to lvl 80 you get capped out at lvl 65 with no hope of catching up.

This thread is way late. This has been requested literally dozens of times.
Good news OP. CCP has already acknowledged that they want to do the system like this. The current incarnation of the sp system will not allow it - but that they will change the sp system fundamentally to allow things like rollover.
Tldr? Hold your horses. Also, for not going to the search button and typing in sp and rollover, thanks OP. |

There are caps in wow, dailies, raid, arena just to name a couple off the top of my head. It's not like you really lose anything, you just can't get more til next week. |

That's different though, what I'm talking about is if you actually lose something from not playing whether real-life issue or otherwise. Suppose you were at level 50 and had to go out of town to visit a sick family member or something for a week. If WoW followed any semblance of Dust does for character growth, you would never be able to reach the level cap because you didn't play in that time frame. You take a break from any other MMO and you can still level up to the same level as everyone else. You take a break from Dust, you fall behind and never have a chance to catch up. |

Not surprising to see a Negative-Feedback member trying to take credit for something the devs already said they're working on (In one of the Merc Casts, I do believe). |

People's memories are so short. The current SP cap system is only temporary, the long term goal is to have the rollover SP cap system. They already said this before. This is not a new idea (should have use the search function, and bumped an existing thread), and not even in the right section. |

I came up with this all on my own and I'm the first ever to think it. A system like this has never existed anywhere else and this is basically a revolutionary idea. You mean other than the times we said option 2 would lead to AFKing and it did.
That the new spawn mechanic would create blob warfare that could easily be controlled and manipulated and it did
How we told you AV was going to dominate Vehicles and they do
How the game in its never ending attempt to cater to the carebears and the casuals would lead to the game losing its identity and its base. And yea thats happening too.
How faction warfare was going to lead to nothing but blue donuts and when CCP realized it they changed the numbers and even then still didnt get the forrmula 100% but at least its better than the first iteration they had going (you're welcome)
You can hate all you want but don't be mad cause we know what makes a good game and our nerds are actually good at FPS unlike yours.
It isnt cocky when you can back it up, dont worry though not like you could ever dream of owning stuff in PC so dont bother.

Wouldn't a rollover be unfair to those who did make the cap? Also, how would a rollover keep a merc interested if they are hitting the cap day 1 or 2? And really, if you are purchasing an active booster, one is wasting money in my opinion if one is not hitting the cap and then some every week. Then, how would a rollover be fair to those who paid for an active booster? Wouldn't an active rollover render the active booster useless until one was ready to 'catch up'?
If there were to be a rollover, I would just say just let there be no cap. |
