Would really like an answer to this, I have ALMOST every vanity suit and would like to keep them amongst others, like the black and white LAV.

One question that resonated with me from a friend is what will be the ISK value of officer grade weapons? If I am using the wrong term, I am talking about the weapons that come from rare salvage drops. |

Otherwise I'm just going to view this as a way to try and get more Arum out of players since you increased all the BPO prices since I purchased them........ You realize that it says at market value at the time of the reset right? That means that if you paid less than they're worth now, then you'll get more Aurum than what you originally paid, if they get taken of course. |

I'm guessing they'll just let us keep those, since they have no market value. Hopefully the next blog will give a definite answer though. |

Somehow I'm afraid that's not gonna happen. =/ Even tho it would be logical and in line with statement. |

That is understandable. However, what is the value of Officer (Rare Item) salvage? There is no value associated with them. Does that mean they are priceless? All of these items should be kept for future trade and replaced with working items if they no longer work.
There are to many unknowns and I hope CCP sticks to their statement of releasing an Excel document with the new skill tree and weapons specs by the 25th of April. I will be highly disappointed if the don't. |

Officer salvage and other proto salvage needs to remain untouched. While I am sure the ISK will be reimbursed for skillbooks, there are simply too many items that I saved up and plan to use in next build. |

Well I'm not with CCP or anything but as a few others have tried to answer some questions ill also try to. To begin with things with no market value such as officer grade weapons will more than likely NOT be taken from your inventory due to the fact they have no price. The skill system can be questioned all one wants however we can only speculate i understand the impatience however its obvious that atm we will not have answers so we have no choice but to wait give them a break they have alot they must work on and this is a free to play game so be as thankful as you can stop whining plz |

You know, I'm kind of OK with all this... Yes, I'd like to keep my Officer salvage, and I can't really see a reason to take those away, even if they do get re-specced. They're random drops, and I can't use half of them anyway - it's not as if I chose to spend money on them, and then someone moved the goalposts... It'd be very nice to retain the "reward" dropsuit blueprints we've earned throughout the beta. It'd also be great if they had enduring relevance, so when half the world's population is playing Dust and its sub-games, they can see we were one of the first. But it'd make more sense to replace them with a racial equivalent, or take them away and offer a choice of replacements - it's no good having a Caldari beta-tester Assault suit if you want to play Amarr... And on that front, I thought we'd been told that in future character abilities are going to be more divided along racial lines, although that certainly wasn't apparent in that weapons skill tree screenshot... Assuming this is still the plan, this will need changes. If you are Minmatar, you'll likely find the Caldari/ Gallente suits are more tailored to provide the correct mix of CPU/ PG you need for your Exile assault rifle Blueprint than your Minmatar suits are. Maybe your Minmatar character will be offered an "Exile chemical-propelled slug-thrower" blueprint instead. Or maybe we could just call the Minmatar service rifle an "Assault Rifle", and rename all the other stuff to what they actually are? Sniper rifle is man-portable anti-materiel railgun? Current AR is rapid-fire plasma pulse rifle? Shotgun is a plasma pellet scatter gun (I don't see any shot in use there). I'm sure you can all think of better new names than mine.
And don't get me started on the "Mass Driver"... |

The changes you're most likely seeing are due to the weekly SP cap; after you gain 190,400 SP in battle, you stop getting SP for time spent in battle and only get them for WP earned during the battle; passive SP do not contribute to the cap and are not affected by it. |

Like everyone else I'm just speculating here but I don't see how officer weapons or militia BPO's will be a part of this.
Militia BPO's don't require any skill to use so why would a change in the skill tree affect which ones you use? Plus the amount of free AUR that would mean for people would be insane. I bought extra of everything in anticipation of the market opening up so I'd be receiving about 650,000 AUR for free. That's like $300 US so no way in hell is that going to happen.
Also you didn't pay anything for officer gear so how can getting a refund for it even make sense?
I believe a DEV said merc pack and prize items will be remaining in the game but I don't remember the exact words and I can't find a link. |

My source is Podcast #1, you can listen to it here: http://dust514.com/beta/news/2013/04/merc-cast-episode-1/
I do not have any news, but I am anxiously awaiting the spreadsheet as it should shed some light on the upcoming release. A detailed change list, feature description, or a manual would be awesome. However, not expected as CCP does not document well if at all. |

Can't wait for the large update to the game. BUT, i really don't want to lose all my gear that was salvage. So i hope they give us alot of ISK for the gear that we can't buy back. But over all this is the largest build to the game and can't wait to see all the hard work they put in to this game, pay off. Now to all that are worried to lose everything or just gear. The game is still a beta so exspect this to happen alot till they release the full game of this. |

This title was & still is slated as an MMOFPS linked to an MMORPG. I can safely assume Officer Gear will not be taken or converted, neither BPO nor BPC as these are essentially classified as Rare Drops in an MMO. Rare Drops ,AKA Salvage, has a defined Tier Value that essentially solidifies itself as a Player Determined Value item, thus rendering it immune to NPC Payout. As for Vasnity Items I can speculate they will be refunded in AUR if & only if May 6 brings out that Color Customization for Dropsuits & Vehicles Option. If not then I am almost assured that the Vanity Items will retain the standard utility it has until then.
Also, I believe CCP's Marketing Division is well aware of the reprocussions for allowing Current Market Value of AUR to *Insert Currency Here* to overinflate & jeopardize the future Mutual Economy of EVE - DUST 514. The already gained value of AUR to ISK is generous enough as it stands alone. (Reasoning for this being acceptable compared to AUR to *Insert Currency Here* is that it is almost guaranteed to not sell anywhere near as high as Current Market Value due to future Player Trade being P2P. This both rewards the Savvy Investor/Entrepreneur and puts a Check & Balance in place to ensure there is no direct link to *Insert Currency Here* loss on CCP's end.
One may argue the ISK to PLEX to AUR possibility still makes it a relevant issue, but the Player again has to find a Buyer for said Product & as per MMO Standard Archetypes there will be those who will Blacklist & "Town Crier" it up preventing immediate sale of the Item(s) in question, & there will be those that attempt Market Inflation or Undercut other Potential Sellers. These factors prove Mutually Beneficial in the long run as it displays/promotes the depth of the intended Metagame for EVE & DUST 514 (& any other MMO @ that) while encouraging the Gamer/Investor to remain a Loyal Customer, all without any significant burden to the Bank-o-CCP. |

I figured that much. So far CCP does not impress me with their statements. They have not followed through on any that I have seen do far. Including not giving us our blueprints from the human endurance event.
I personally like the game or the idea of it. But CCP has to understand that we are not PC players and we console gamers expect our games to work as stated. The game needs action, depth, and clear information that are all available from the console.
I have hopes for uprising, but so far the game progresses very slowly. Other console developers are churning out new DLCs including maps, gear, and play expansion at a rate that makes CCP look like they are from the dark ages. If they can not do the same they will end up going the way of the dodo bird... |
