5 Reasons Uprising Is Already A Disappointment

Free Beers Internal Error. Negative-Feedback 1295	Posted - 2013.04.03 15:37:00 - [1] - Quote 1. Planetary Conquest is just bad and ccp should feel bad. 2. NO Player trading or market (lot of good loot will do - not to mention selling aurum items for isk to kill p2w arguement) 3. Only corp battles will be in PC (no grudge matches, tourneys, practice scrims, training set ups) 4. No reason for EvE pilots to care (sorry but POS stuff is lame because we will come blow your **** up aka you are a target, get griefed by beers) 5. No pve so noobs have something to do besides get farmed. Thats mine, whats yours?

It would be that factor to keep the casuals you want so badly coming back and a place to train them. I hope there's news you guys left out :( What's worse - it'll be 4-6 months before another major update after this one. Lot of hopes going into this. With such high expectations there's bound to be a lot of dissapointments. But regardless I'll be around toasting to the future.

But supposibly it's only 2/5 the patch notes - so who knows, CCP has some decent programmers they might pull a rabbit out there hat and blow our collective minds. I was wondering if most communities in the FPS worlds are hive minded? Dust sure as hell isn't lol

Lots of promises made and feedback given. CCP assumed incorrectly they could go live with almost no real features. The things that will make dust "awesome" and fully functional game are still builds away it seems. Thus, disappointing.

Unless uprising is basically like a new game dust will just be glorified tech demo and treated as such. I know no developer wants to see his worked slagged off. I know I was crushed when my final year project was ripped to shreads but that didnt change the facts that it was awful. So I learned and improved. I have seen no evidence what so ever that uprising will improve the game. PC has not been tested and if it screws up that's the death nell. Dust now has a bad rep the devs will have to do somthing very impressive to fix that

It could just be where PC is going to take place, but it could also be that they will reveal PvE. My thing with PvE is...what kind of development effort would it take in relation to efforts to refine PvP...? Would they need unique maps, would they need developers working on AI for the various bots? Would you need lots of new unpredictable NPCs each iteration? Would the level of replayability come from playing different map modes or difficulties, or completely new content? How much effort would be required to make sure that whatever PvE that is vulnerable to becoming a PvP related instance is fairly balanced in some way.

CCP has been able to hide behind the fact that its "still" in beta. Once it goes "full release" (even if we have been paying for a beta after they said we wouldn't) they can't hide if the game is bad.

I think beers has already played the final version of the game however and since this wasn't what he played he is disappointed.

Basically, gun to my head, no matter what your probably going to be disappointed beers, even you seem to indicate that is the most likely outcome, so unless your plan is to be here to yell "I told you so" in a really loud smug way even though everyone else sees it coming as much as you do, I don't really gather what your hoping to get out of it. Its like waiting for your boss to fire you from a job you hate, you know its coming, why you still hanging around?

It has to be done in steps not all at once. 5. No pve so noobs have something to do besides get farmed. The getting sp/isk for pc and fw will help reduce pub stomping some, future builds will bring pve, why do we need it now? The full release was poorly worded, it is only "full release" of uprising. Dust has at least one more beta build after uprising.

Yeah nulls fault. he changed the wording. But too many third party sites to go edit. Either way you guys need to work on a lexicon that's more universal,its far better to call it an beta expansion.

Do I wish I had all the things now that CCP has mentioned they want in the game, yea, sure, of course I do. I agree that Beers usually has good/constructive ideas and is so passionate because he cares and wants CCP and Dust to succeed, but I fail to see how this post is useful and/or achieves that goal.
