The MAG-based community has found this blog funny to read for quite some time, but when they decided to label my blog as a "fake" and a "shame", I thought it was funny...seeing as how we did nothing to provoke it. That, along with some other lame posts, started the drama of them being a "tabloid".

Dusters may get a lot of flack and they may have made some bad decisions in the past, but I think it's a growing organization that is going to do great things for the Dust community.

Dusters, you need to publicly name the source of this attack and smear so the situation can be dealt with in a transparent fashion. There are too many hands in the pot right now and the community needs to know where this came from.

I think this would be ineffective... If anything, it would make them just more likely to mask who they are by creating a fake email account, a fake DUST account, etc.

It's awful that these things happen, but I'm glad that EVE and DUST have such a great community that support those who have been targeted.

Dusters knows the source but they aren't letting on. Doing such only makes the situation worse. The community is now jumping from person to person in a guessing game and assuming the worst of this person or that. Let in the light Dusters, sunshine has always been one of the best disinfectants.

The community deserves to know where this came from. Up to this point the only personal attacks I've seen were launch from Dusters blog against Jenza and Cerebral Wolf and both of those came from Nameless 514 aka Zion Shad. They need to publicly name their source so this situation can be put to bed.

Edit: Also, get those examples off the blog. I don't care if they are fictitious. The fact that you would even imply one thing or the other being leaked to you and then publishing it without identifying who it's aimed at can be just as hurtful as if you published the actual facts.

Naming and shaming will only lead to a witch hunt and is not what this matter needs, Im sure CCP will deal with it in there own way and depending on how severe the situation, contact the relevent authorities.

this is the price you pay for putting your personal information on public websites. The offenders in this case did nothing wrong and simply accessed information that was already laid out for them.

Wrong, the witch hunt is here. Witch hunts occur when not all the facts are know. Right now Dusters is looking like McCarthy with this hidden list of horrible deeds and an unidentified attacker. For all we know Dusters could be the source just as it was for the personal attacks on Jenza and Cerebral Wolf early in it's existence.

Just because you have access to publically made information doesn't mean its okay to act like an ogre.

Its like having access to a country club membership roster where address and numbers are readily available and you going to their home and littering all over it and crank calling them because you couldn't move past a defeat on the course.
