So how do some of you non-mic people communicate when you need to? Without the chat feature that is. Thus far what I've seen is;
Friendly Melee Attack = I'm out of ammo
Jump = Thank you (one jump is fine btw, 2 jumps somehow makes every enemy zero in on you like its a challenge)
Two quick assault rifle bursts = Look over there
Friendly rifle burst followed by crouch = "You, stay here" |

Friendly Melee Attack = I'm out of ammo ... this is like smash in Mario Bross for coins.
I prefer short burst to logi and after this short burst to the ground. Works like 50/50. |

Having a mic doesn't guarantee useful communication.
I was in a match yesterday and some random guy kept moaning about needing ammo. He never mentioned his name, location, or anything else useful for identifying him.
It reminded me of the guys you inevitably get on comms in Eve who cry "Help, I'm dying, he's got me, I'm going down!" but similarly fail to identify useful facts like what system they're in, what belt, who-the-hell they are, etc... |

For ammo I will usually either melee the logi and then shoot the ground with my smg, or just burst them with my hmg once. |

My personal most used non mic communication is
left 90' turn, right 180'turn, crouch, melee, jump, 720' left turn, jump, jump, melee, melee, cook grenade, followed by kill self and teamate.
Translation, "Oh hai!" |

I take running at me with nova knives as a sign of an honorable hand-to-hand combat situation and try to take them up on Tue offer as long as there are no reds shooting at me.

Jumping to say thanks to the logi became the one gesture I instinctively picked up.
Usually when I shoot at a vehicle it means "slow down" or "pick me up" to tanks and dropships respectively.
I am mic'd, but often most of the other people in the pub match is not. |

as a pilot i can tell you that i hate picking up blue dots if i have turret spots open. The typical blue will fire non-stop with my missile turrets alerting the enemy to my position on any approach and never hitting a single target. Especially if i brought it in to take out an pesky tank. I have hovered over enemy tanks for several minutes with blue dots on the turrets that never fire a single shot at it.
I will still give you a ride but is tough to know where you want to go without any vehicle comms. |

when i am piloting and i land behind cover in our red zone=get out you stupid blue dot so i can pick up a decent gunner.
when i land at the base spawn and jump out to rep my ship=please dont steal it and fly it into a building.
i have sat at our base spawn for half a match while some random shot non stop. so i guess it doesnt work that well, but trying to get the word out.
if i am hovering over an enemy tank or turret = shoot straight down please |

With so many death taxi's and being useless against tanks otherwise, I have gotten in the habit of always carrying AV grenades.
I always forget and throw them at infantry. I usually die, but occasionally they will duck and take cover letting me get away. Always refreshing when someone falls for the bluff. lol. |

Sometimes when I run out of ammo, I point my gun at my enemies and go "pew pew" and move my gun as if aiming, more effective when I'm with a blob of blues tho for some reason.. |

On the off chance that i have a drop ship out on the field, just shoot in the direction that you wanna go...ill figure it out. Otherwise just jump out when i am high up and let the momentum get you there. i always have mic on, but raley in team chat.

I knew there we're Unicorns in Dust just happy to see one is also a GM, are there rainbows and ponies too?
I think the blue guy following me has a jam on his gun (doesn't like taking his finger off the trigger) because he emptied 3 clips into the back of my head before I returned fire causing him to realize that Ambush doesn't mean Free-For-All.
repair tool locked and feeding armor == hold still/take cover/shoot the guy killing me before you get us both killed 
defend order == quick run away from that guy he's in trouble they'll get you too if you stay near him *Sarcasm*

the first three are on point but telling someone to stay here is like expecting a blueberry to help in a ambush ha ha ha |

All pub matches (i.e., the only places where you'll probably encounter blueberries), will still have FF turned off since they'll all be in high-sec. |

Here's what I've come up with so far.
Friendly melee: I need ammo
Friendly melee from afar: c'mere
Aiming left and right: No
Single jump: Yes (Aiming up and down apparently doesn't = shaking head yes)
Friendly fire: Just getting your attention
Friendly fire on Logi: Healz please 
Crouching: RDV inbound ETA: 15 seconds
Firing into the air: OB OB OB (Don't ask me why this is necessary, but it is 
Strafing in circles: This is that nanohive that you can't see 
Strafing in circles AND jumping: Sniper
Running the other way: GTFO of here
Teabagging: Teabagging

In my experience, people don't really communicate very much, other than the occasional FF bullet meaning = Dude, heal me.
At which I shoot their foot, attempting to tell them they have full Armor, and I can't restore shield. I doesn't help.
Sometimes while on my Heavy though, I will try to nod at a Logistics thats healing me in an attempt to say "Yo."
I also shoot people with my SMG if I'm trying to rep them and they run behind a stack of boxes/any other obstacle. I hate the people that don't understand i can't rep from 50 miles away. :P

Granted, this only happened one time, but it was pretty embarrassing to see fellow blueberries trot on over to the objective and get casually headshot like lemmings. Tried used the team chat thing, but apparently nobody read it. |
