So how do some of you non-mic people communicate when you need to? Without the chat feature that is. Thus far what I've seen is;
Friendly Melee Attack = I'm out of ammo
Jump = Thank you (one jump is fine btw, 2 jumps somehow makes every enemy zero in on you like its a challenge)
Two quick assault rifle bursts = Look over there
Friendly rifle burst followed by crouch = "You, stay here" |

Friendly Melee Attack = I'm out of ammo ... this is like smash in Mario Bross for coins.
I prefer short burst to logi and after this short burst to the ground. Works like 50/50. |

If I see a guy with a repper and I'm hurtin' on health I'll fire a single round at him with my HMG. Usually gets his/her attention. |

Having a mic doesn't guarantee useful communication.
I was in a match yesterday and some random guy kept moaning about needing ammo. He never mentioned his name, location, or anything else useful for identifying him.
It reminded me of the guys you inevitably get on comms in Eve who cry "Help, I'm dying, he's got me, I'm going down!" but similarly fail to identify useful facts like what system they're in, what belt, who-the-hell they are, etc... |

I have also been a victim of pointless mic users, shouting "OH come on!", or "Shoot him!", or "He's right there GAWD!" doesn't help much....also neither does "MOM! SHUT UP!......NO!......MOM SHUT UP!" lol |

For ammo I will usually either melee the logi and then shoot the ground with my smg, or just burst them with my hmg once. |

My personal most used non mic communication is
left 90' turn, right 180'turn, crouch, melee, jump, 720' left turn, jump, jump, melee, melee, cook grenade, followed by kill self and teamate.
Translation, "Oh hai!" |

I take running at me with nova knives as a sign of an honorable hand-to-hand combat situation and try to take them up on Tue offer as long as there are no reds shooting at me.
Shooting a teammate hacking a CRU or Null cannon "Hey, I'm farming here!"

Jumping to say thanks to the logi became the one gesture I instinctively picked up.
Usually when I shoot at a vehicle it means "slow down" or "pick me up" to tanks and dropships respectively.
I am mic'd, but often most of the other people in the pub match is not. |

as a pilot i can tell you that i hate picking up blue dots if i have turret spots open. The typical blue will fire non-stop with my missile turrets alerting the enemy to my position on any approach and never hitting a single target. Especially if i brought it in to take out an pesky tank. I have hovered over enemy tanks for several minutes with blue dots on the turrets that never fire a single shot at it.
I will still give you a ride but is tough to know where you want to go without any vehicle comms. |
