Ignoring the sarcasm above (although...if you really think its a good idea...), there's better ways to address the issue than giving an unknown the right to kick nearly anyone in the corp out... It might be kind of easy to tell if you're a female or not when you use your mic. Also, it's not like we just give this power to any woman the second she joins, females have to earn trust and respect just like any male member of our corp.

I recommend watching this http://www.penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/harassment it proposes some interesting ideas that may not directly translate to this game but may give you some ideas on how to empower your players to help prevent this garbage.

In EvE should this have happened you would get a lot of your friends together to form a fleet then hunt the bastards down and kill them. In Dust get 15 of your friends find them, challenge them, and grind their bones to dust over and over and over again. the difference is in eve you can hunt them down where ever they go until they quit the game hide in 0.0 or you are satisfied. in dust you cant beat their will to live out of them.

Mute didn't stop them from standing in front of her the entire game preventing her from shooting, it didn't stop them from standing around her shooting towards enemies long enough to get there attention so they would shoot her. I'm an a**hole, I can admit to that, but I would never insult a person just because of their religion, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, or if they were born with a disability, that's not okay, at least not with me. But if people are allowed to say whatever they want, then why shouldn't people be allowed to complain or insult those people back?

This is serious I mean not only was their verbal abuse but action against said player for the express reason that the player was a certain group of people. This is a dramatic lack of empathy here, and lack of (perceived)consequence for this action, against a real living person, which will only serve to embolden those who committed this hateful act. So yes the must be some consequence for this action, is a life time ban extreme? yes but there needs to be some action taken to show that this will not be tolerated here or in real life. The fact of the matter is that eve online while there is little in the way of rules, is ruled by the players. This sort of action in eve would be ended by the players, diplomacy, or at least isolation, is a must in EVE. This does not exists in dust, and may not for quite some time, and this could be a good thing, given the level of immaturity that seems ever present in the console community, but this means there must be some other way to enforce social pressures upon those who would see a group, or even the whole world burn.

Edit: If this thread bothers you, then why don't you just "mute" it by ignoring it? it doesn't "bother me" it just seems weird to me that if i got the same treatment and posted it on here people would call me a wus and tell me to HTFU and NOONE would be on my side but because she is a female she deserves to be treated differently it has come to a day where if you troll a woman on the internet people want you perma banned and i completely disagree were the men right to comment on women of whatever? no i am not a sexist and fully believe in womens rights however i believe in EQUAL rights and they should not get a softer suger coated version of the internet you are missing the point, its not because people trolled a female that people are making a stink, it is because people troller her because she was a female. this is the heart of the issue, it seems like a meaningless semantic but it is far from it. taking some one ** is some thing we all deal with and is part of how we interact, how ever taking ** because someone has singled you out due to the fact that you fall into to a set of people is not acceptable any where any time.
