Again, all subjective. You can learn a lot of valuable life lessons on the internet, one of which is growing thick skin and not letting empty words and thinly veiled attempts at harassment get between you and your hobby.

If someone harassed me in real life, and they have, I harass them back tenfold until they go away. I don't run away crying and call the cops because someone harassed me, which is pretty much what OP's thread boils down to.

Harassment and racism is necessary in society to produce strong minded, thick skinned adults. I was harassed as a kid, and I leaned very quickly to stand up for myself, a lesson I'd never learn if I wasn't harassed. You should be thanking the aggressors for trying to make you a better person, not trying to give them a lifetime ban.

So I was playing a match today with one of my female friends. She sets up as a sniper/scouter for our squid and calls in information as we are moving. The match starts and two guys, "Lieutenant Arc Angel" and "I'm Wilson", start shooting her and generally messing with her. They won't leave her alone. They then join our squad and start insulting her and women in general. She finally gets mad enough and insulted enough to shut down the console and since then won't play Dust. This wasn't the first time this has happened. So we go online just to find that CCP has no was of reporting issues like this. I'm a time when this issue has become so big they do nothing. 343i life-bans players that sexually harass female players, what does CCP do? How do you even report these actions?

How about instead of being an immature child and demanding lifetime bans because of words on the internet from people you'll never meet, you use the MUTE function and continue to play? There's no excuse for not just muting them and moving on like an adult. HTFU

I love the "men" who say that harassing women is perfectly fine, that we "deserve" it for playing a game we want to (and with nothing in the game rules that says we can't like some think there is), that tell us to just take it and don't do anything about it.

Yet...when they get anything negative said about them, they're the first to cry for something to be done.

There are ways to lessen these idiot's actions, but they never go away. Why? because there are other idiotic people that defend and encourage them.

I have yet to see (or even hear about) a guy harassed in-game by a woman because he is a guy...but I have seen plenty of women (and have been myself) harassed by "men" only because they are female.

I am all for people getting kicked from a game for using racial, sexual, or any other form remark that insults someone who can't help themselves for who or what they are. The whole sexual harassment thing has been ignored way too long in the gaming industry. I know quite a few women who play games that could wipe the floor with dudes in FPS. They have garnered respect from some, but on more than one occasion you get some douchebag who thinks its his job to say whatever he can to try and hurt them. All because he can't beat them in the game.... This also goes for the racial slurs that I see people put up as their character name. Honestly, it is getting to the point where I think CCP should not allow those names to even be typed in....revert it back to kitten....

It sounds like you and your female friend need to join KEQ (Kill-EM-QUICK) where we put female players in leadership positions in which they have to right to kick corp members who offend them by behaving in a boorish and offensive manner. We will rally around a member in need, hunt down offensive nimrods and make them regret ever opening their mouths.
