As slowly as this game is moving into becoming a full release, that's the only thing that really makes any sense at this point. The progression of development is just taking way too long for anything else other than they just don't know what the hell they are doing,to be the case.
I thought this too, until I found out CCP is not registered for development with Sony for any PS4 porting ect. So technically atm, they can't be using tools for it. I'm still not convinced that is a complete list, it says nowhere in there it is. I say this because I got the same feeling as I watched the unveiling, the PS4 just seems so much better suited to running the wide array of things that are promised in this game. I too get bored but I'm remaining hopeful as well they'll turn things around before too many of us get turned off.
Edit: a quick search led me to the white wolf partners page. White wolf is a parent/partner company to CCP. That page has a very familiar name on it. I'm not entirely sure how it works but maybe CCP could sublease the license through them somehow? Hopefully someone in the know can clarify further. |

The next build is going to make or break it for me.
I've been here since build 1 of closed beta.
We know this isn't the full version but progression has been very slow.
Yes devs have a weekly feedback, however, they say things like
Looking into redline abuse, the next week its something else with 0 updates of what they discussed for redline abuse.
1 year later and we haven't even seen 90% of the things said they would be fixing.
We get hardly any real feedback and if they did implement something we suggested or that we want balanced more, they do their own thing hoping its right without working along side the community to balance things out.
We've been lacked in content for a year, I mean really? 1 year and very little has changed.
This game has great potential.
If it doesn't speed up by the time ps4 gets on market then it will flop.
Psn players are not like PC players, once something flops the player base is dead and stays so.
There needs to be more content and need for Corp battles than just fame and glory.
Market trading needs to be open,
Terrain bugs need fixed,
Graphics need smoothed,
DS's need their WP's,
AV vs Vehicles need fixed,
Large missile turrets need fixed,
Railguns need to be more effective,
AR's need their internal tier system reworked for dps and recoil between militia and proto,
LR needs skills to work and be applied,
AV grenades need reworked,
Swarms need reworked,
Hit detection needs improvement,
These are just a few thing in a long list that a year hasn't been solved and slowly moves forward, though moving backwards faster then forward I totally agree with pretty much everything that you say.The lack of content and polish for a game that's been in development for this long is teetering on unacceptable, mainly because of the lack of communication to the players from CCP. This game won't progress much past what it is now due to the platform constraints being bumped into.
They will make it as stable as they can and abandon you while they shoot for the next platform. CCP can't risk being left behind again on the wrong end of a console's life cycle.
Of course they won't say that, they only need to tease you along for around six more months.

I love how people come on the forums threatening CCP with leaving. If you want to leave then leave. To me at least you sound like the guy at best buy shoutting loud trying to say this is crappy about the company and that is horrible about the company. In the mean time we all just go about shopping at the store.
Also this is a true beta, there opened the beta to get the numbers up to test the servers and to be a part of the "free-to-play" push by sony. This game is doing something that no other game has done before. Connecting a console with a pc in real time. There is no bemch mark for this. There are going to be speed bums and stalls at some point, but I would say that no news is good news, or silence is golden.
I feel like gamers are the most spoilled people on the planet. Your basically saying give me my money's worth when you payed nothing. So in all reality you have gotten more than your money's worth. You literally got something for nothing. And if you did give CCP money through a merc pack or aurum purchase that is on you not them.
Bottom line is no one listens to the guy in a resturant yelling "This place has rats" because we all know there pissed and just want to get something they are not entitled to. Or you get screwed on a game you didn't pay for when there are tons of people who buy games and are disappointted by them. |

10 years of eve, 8 accounts,
I've paid something.
Don't jump to conclusions,
Most of the player base here is from eve, we have paid for this game.
We also brought up the idea to make it a few years ago.

I mean an M16A4 looks different than a SCAR and thats the way it should be in game. The Gek looks the same as every other gun. There is a Creo Dron spec shotgun to purchase but if you pay attention, all of the shotguns say Creo Dron on them.lol So basically everything you are complaining about is a lack of visual variety.
Well, that's ok, you are right. I'm happy that you don't complain about core mechanics.
Lets be honest, increasing visual variety really is something the next builds will bring us.
From what you said it seems you would be happy if CCP just renamed the Caldari Type-I Assault to Minmatar Assault and gave it a new shiny model. That's ok, I'd like that too. But changing the models of weapons/suits doesn't change any of the core mechanics of this game.
To me the current build is more like a 'Ok, the core mechanics are working, lets go into open beta and lift the NDA so everyone can start talking about the game'-build. From now on every build we will get (and we will get 2 each year if they do it as in EVE) will introduce new features and graphical improvements. CCP got the core mechanics working and it took them a long time. But now they can finally concentrate on the shiny stuff.
JOE-PHOSPHATE wrote:I come from a long line of playing big name FPS games Me too. I played them all. They were fun for a while, but I think DUST514 will be the one game I'll always be coming back to. All those other shooters are outdated and abandoned after 2 years. But DUST514, while it looks outdated graphically atm, will probably never be abandoned. It will keep on evolving.
If you lose interest in the game that's ok. Just go and play something else but make sure you come back for the next build. And lets be honest, you will be back.
On a side note, yes, I lost interest. I lost interest in any other game but DUST514. /fanboyism

I enjoy playing FPS games but I find that after a certain amount of time you move on to the next iteration of that game e.g COD MW 1 to Black Ops to MW2 etc. I also enjoy playing RPG's and I have found that I spend more time enjoying the actual game play and the game last longer than most of the FPS games.
As such my hope for Dust is that it will truly incorporate both genres, over time, and result in a game that I will enjoy for years to come. Based on Eve I believe this is a realistic hope but it will take time. Please note that I have not played Eve so I come as a brand new potential customer.
I will admit that I am still happy to remain patient as I only came in at the beginning of the open beta but I wouldn't mind more maps or if the dynamic map generation software is operating then have the existing program generate more extreme changes to the layout.
In the meantime I am very much enjoying the skills aspect of the game as it gives value to the character you play on screen. |

What kind of answer do you guys expect for the 1001st post saying 'this is broken, that is broken, this is not like COD, this game is dead, bye!'?
We know what is broken and/or missing, the devs know what is broken and/or missing. They are working on it and they will release a new build when its done. They will keep adding new features to the game for a long time.
So what do you want to hear? 'Oh, thank you so much, without you we never would've known that this game has issues. We honestly thought it was perfect the way it is!'?! Or do you want them to rush a new build just because you got bored already?
If you discover a problem and honestly want to help the devs then go to the feedback forums, make a thread and post a detailed description.
Also, yes, the devs could more frequently let us know what is going on and what they are working on. But the reason they don't tell us when the next build is coming or what new features come with the next build is because they probably don't exactly know themselves. And if they told you that X, Y and Z feature would be in the next build and they would release it in 10 days and then, due to some unforeseen circumstances, they have to postpone the release by 5 days and feature Z won't make it, the next day there will be 100 threads complaining about why feature Z didn't make it and why they had to wait for 5 more days. |

I won't say i losing interest... because i'm sure this game will be great once is finish. But i most confess, is getting harder and harder, to play the same maps over and over again, and spending the majority of battles in redlines, or running around the map in circles, playing cops and robbers.
But i want to believe!!! so i just going to find the motivation to carry on enduring the pain.

You are correct. Because a beta is not a finished product. If I built you half a car and said it will be done soon, then you tried to drive it and it didn't work 100% would that be broken? No it would be unfinished. Why is this so hard for people to comprehend. What if this happened in your job (your meaning all the complainers like this) and said your unfinished product is broken? You would say well it's not broken it's just not finished yet. You don't have to STFU you need to wait till the product is in full release and then if these issues are still there it would be broken or a lie or how ever you want to phrase it. I don't like certain stores so I don't go there. I don't like sushi, I really had high hopes for sushi, but now that I taste it I don't like it, so guess what ? I don't eat it. |

When it comes to game critique I tend to think that most people complaining about a game are far too jaded to actually do so.
When youGÇÖve played any type of game for YEARS, be it FPS, MMO, etc, IGÇÖve come to expect in my old age that most players verbalize what is actually a personal emptiness in their lives theyGÇÖve been filling with excessive game play as GÇ£this game sucksGÇ¥.
The truth is thereGÇÖs only so many GÇ£featuresGÇ¥ you can put in something to make it fun. And too much of the same thing tends to make people not respect the effort that went into making something new from the ground up which is often built on one or two GÇ£new ideasGÇ¥. A new game may have that one new feature that made it sound GÇ£coolGÇ¥ but if it didnGÇÖt have the 40 other features invented or introduced before it, itGÇÖs often labeled a GÇ£sucky gameGÇ¥. That to me is being jaded.
Basically all a FPS has ever been is GÇ£grab a gun and shoot the other playerGÇ¥ everything else is bells a whistles. Counterstike still has a respectable player base, and still has a place for having fun if thatGÇÖs not all you do with your day. Would they criticize the 15th version of the board game Risk, when the Space themed version that has an extra map you can conquer of the moon comes out? If you play it every single day for weeks, months or years youGÇÖre damn right they do. But if you play once and a while that game is still a blast.
At one point in these complainers lives they had a penultimate experience with one particular game, yet over time they lost interest for one reason or another. Every day since that experience theyGÇÖve been chasing that high, been disappointed they canGÇÖt get that feeling back and take it out on an unfinished Beta that has expectations on it to be profitable within a certain timetable because its business not just pleasure for the financiers.
So IMO if you are QQGÇÖing about a FPS when youGÇÖve been playing various ones for years without end, the problem is probably you, not the game. Stop playing so much. Go outside once and awhile.
This is not to say that a game in BETA shouldnGÇÖt get criticism. ThereGÇÖs no way to get better without getting feedback from your client base, but IGÇÖd take it all with a grain of salt. If you really want a game to be better give CONSTRUCTIVE DETAILED things you think should be fixed, and then donGÇÖt place unreasonable expectations on a business to instantly gratify you by fixing them immediately. |

The game has just gotten boring.
All the modes lack originality, Skirmish feels like a classic domination mode and Ambush is just TDM.
The game needs new vehicles, Jets, MTACs anything to just break the repetitivness of ground play.
Needs better matchmaking, something like a Team Lobby, where players can pre-create 16 players teams to go up against other pre-made teams at a +20-25% SP rate, hardly any competition and competition usually only comes from that tryhard using an ADV fitting and a Duvolle stomping blueberries at 20-0.

As other comments have stated we are still in beta, but honestly the game is amazing even with the bugs and sub-par graphics. It keeps you coming back, keeps you wanting to evolve your play. Furthermore, the community is what keeps this going. This isn't a regular fps where screaming kids constantly try to ruin the game and most players are only interested in their kdr (yes there are players in dust who are obsessed with kdr, but most of the good ones have an essential role in their team and work together with their squad-mates). Teamwork is what separates this games from the "big-name" first person shooters; in fact it reminds me of MAG. It's not the same, but both games had average graphics, but amazing game-play which emphasized teamwork and strategy.
I don't have an fps background (I did play MAG for about 5 months when it first came out) but I keep coming back because of the deep customization (in fact I just spent the last hour mapping out what I am going to do upgrade wise for the next two weeks), intense battles, solid teamwork and a great community.
I look forward to seeing what CCP will be doing with Dust in the coming months.

After being here a year and providing continuous CONSTRUCTIVE DETAILED FEEDBACK and seeing very little progress or new content I think we have the right to complain even if CCP calls this a beta.
As I have said before CCP calls this a commercial release so they can take our money but will call it "beta" so they can ignore whats broke or wrong with the game.
I barely play enough to hit my weekly sp cap so I get outside just fine

PASSIVE SP!!!! Go play something else. This game will be here. Might I suggest Ni No Kuni, the studio ghibli game? Or the new Devil May Cry? Like eve, this game will persist. Unlike Eve, PASSIVE SP!!!
