Turrets are almost useless if not manned, turrets should be base defenders and worth taking out, they should be somewhat difficult to capture.
Give turrets the ability to shoot at distant targets as well as ones nearby and let them detect enemies based on team's radar and not it's camera laser thing.
there can also be an equipment that is like a mobile sensor that will improve turret targeting. |

pretty sure they're meant to be like starbase guns:
barely average on their own, infinitely better while manned and coordinated.
i ve seen them be a little more active toward shooting baddies as of late if that helps. |

at this point if not manned they are almost useless, which is the problem, even starbase guns can and will get kills, these hardly shoot anything that doesn't shoot them first. right now other than"is someone in that turret" everyone ignores them when attacking a base. which is the issue, they should be strong defensive platforms that can defend an area on it's own from light attacks. but right now 1 guy, even a heavy, can run up to it and hack one no sweat. |

They currently have individual optimal ranges and seem to have a threshold of signature profile that will enable them. Even then, once they have picked their target they don't go to another unless they no longer see it. Railguns will hit you from 150m-200m out and blasters inside 100m and missile turrets are under 100m also. If they started shooting at anything outside of that range it would still be easy to kill them as you'd just draw their fire or kill them all because they are too deadly.
Eventually, when we are paying for them ourselves, they will probably be mostly manned as they'll probably be expensive. |

I'm confused, I've NEVER seen a turret attack someone without being manned by somebody. And I've charged around them in heavy suits without setting off some some sort of SigRad threshold. |

oh i have, and i ve been at the end of it, particularly it tracks vehicles but try shooting an enemy turret, then come back :-) |

i like this... but if you are going to advocate this please bring back a high damage forge gun. make its range short and make it stationary. that way if i am assaulting and a base defense has been left behind i want to be able to fight it not one hit it . but maybe 5 hit it |

Would rather have target painting secondary weapon and skill. +3% Turret rotation speed per level and for proficiency +2% turret heat cooldown speed. "Shoot" a turret with the market to link it to your systems, then laze a target with secondary, tell turret to fire with primary.
Perhaps another skill to allow you to slave more turrets to your system? |

I think they're good the way they are. You drive an LAV in front of one and die instantly, but can get close to them on foot with relative ease.
The railguns in particular would get more kills than half the players in a match if they went aggro all the time. Have you ever pissed one off with Swarms from across the map? They could shoot a cigarette out of your merc's mouth. |

which is the problem, you normally don't see it because it's so rare, if you look at a turret it has a green laser and it looks left to right, an enemy has to be in range and in front of the laser to be shot, or an enemy can shoot the turret and it will return fire if in range.
the rotating turret thing is bad, and should work off sensors or some sort of radar, when I can eventually call down railguns I want to be able to put 4 around a point and have enemies have to put a concerted effort to get through, not just have 1 guy run up to one hack, the other, hack, the other hack, the other hack without so much as a shot (unless maybe it's a scout suit with sensor damp things.) |

NPC pub turrets should always be Dumb... just smart enough to attack things that attack them but not death to anything in range.
now when we buy them and can drop them they should be a little smarter like target if sig radius detected within x range but not quite on par with a human operator to avoid the inevitable dropping 10 of them on the redline and giggling while the reddots have to break past a gun wall of doom to even get to objectives. |

Turrets need to be taking out and should be skill based equipment bought and called into the match. Tired of skirmishes when I have 3-4 snipers, and another 3-4 players on turrets, usually all grouped up on the same side of the map, thereby guaranteeing a lose. I will team kill you if I catch you on my team btw. |
