I know that people have made reference to this being normal in New Eden, but to be clear- it has already happened many, many, many times in EVE Online. In a couple of cases, major alliances (even coalitions of alliances) have been rocked by this.
It is such a common occurrence that CCP even made a video about it:

Part of the game. All corp level decisions are made my the CEO. If the CEO wants to give someone a billion isk it is his prerogative. Lackies dont need that right.

That's why corp's that actually know what they are doing are very careful of who they give what roles too.
Dust corps could use more roles and it'd be nice to see a role that can be given to dust players to allow them to accept dust apps to the corp and give them rights similar to eve. I would love to have eve corps able to make a dust wallet division and give access to it to a dust player.
TL;DR
Don't give director privileges to disgruntled or otherwise untrustworthy people.
And 10mil is inconsequential if money transfers will be allowed. |

And he isnt a CEO of a corp, it was a legit suggestion on his end. One that i disagree with, although new corp roles are coming out so that probably deals with the problem he was actually intending to address. So people can still set corp matches but not deal with money. |

So I take it between the few alliance denials here and the General thread that was locked that a theft didn't occur? Surely you guys can understand that between the language of his first two posts (and "my the CEO" makes absolutely no sense unless it was supposed to be 'me', hence the confusion as to him being CEO in the first place) and Mavado your own first comment "working as intended...." that the assumption that there was a theft was a pretty safe one.
Good luck in the damage control guys (I sincerely mean that) cause this thing snowballed fast.
Just a general comment, not pointing any fingers, people have to be careful and think about what they post, tweet, comment on etc. cause rumour and assumption can very easily get out of control. Something that was 'front page' news and then gets retracted never has as large an audience the second time around.

The problem is there is no way to prove it, they could have scrambled to get the isk back in to prevent lackies from confirming the story. Or removed role from one guy or forced him to give it back or else. Also asking the 'stupid question' or in this scenario 'the stupid suggestion' while I don't want to berate anyone in asking in the future it is just that the common generator of either is usually victimization, its extraordinarily rare that someone would go out of their way to test systems for exploits without some level of self gain. As for counter intel responses, they're quite typical as they do read the forums, analyze the on goings, and laugh just as hard and share with their friends when even at the suggestion of a screw up is brought to bear.
I know I got a few dozen red and black flags. The most prominent ones, 'do not promote with game mechanics' and 'cant' keep mouth shut.'
Overall... How best to deal with damage control for the future of your corpses in case you guys fall apart?

Pin blame on a specific person alt and delete him and make it a lesson learned and a warning for future ceo's and mercs. With no dust 514 api, you have the nice grace of no evidence ever being possible.
Anyways you're free to come up with others but suggesting that option now invalidates its use.

Over my many months of playing I have accumulated hundreds of millions of isk, and I am giving it out to people who are serious about this game.
To show you serious, send me any amount of isk under 10 million and i will double it.
