When beta ends do we keep our skill points and get refunded our aurum?
That would be cool because if you spend your money on boosters during beta, you could use the same money to buy them again on release.

We keep the skill points but the Aurum is gone forever....unless CCP has to do another wipe, in which case, we lose the skill points but get the Aurum refunded. However, the latter scenario is not likely because CCP has stated that there will not be another wipe unless there is some sort of unforeseen catastrophe. |

Oh well, it was a nice fantasy while it lasted!
Yes, that is correct. The game is functioning as if the game is already released. Your skill points continue to increase and any Aurum that you use now is spent.... |

I'm pretty sure the Merc Pack was pretty clear in stating that all Aurum and items would be refunded at the official release at the end of the beta. Seems they might have a bit of a liability at hand if they don't honor that arrangement. It would he a pretty cut and dry case of false advertisement if we don't get our Merc pack stuff at release. |

WRONG. We're still in "closed beta" and the Merc pack was clear that all items used during closed beta would be refunded. |

Well if you all go into the PSN store you will all see that it states mercenary pack will be credited in full to your in game dust 514 account after each reset and for the commercial release... This is not commercial release this is still closed Beta, if they do not refund my aur they need to give me $20 back because as the guy stated in the post FALSE ADVERTISEMENT |

I don't know how anyone could be fine with not getting a refund. There is still so much broken with this game and we are very clearly still testing. Anyone who is OK with giving CCP money for being a tester, have at it. But I remember CCP had to be VERY EXPLICIT around E3 that they found the idea of permanently losing real money for a beta absurd. What happened to that CCP? |

Sue CCP/Sony? Good luck, most countries have provisions in their laws to make sure that people who are too anal about following the letter of the law won't clog the legal system with cases of meaningless lawsuits. I'm pretty sure non-refundal of AUR because of 2 different release dates falls under this category.

I will get my money back through SOE. It won't take suing. You, however, are free to bend over and take it however you please. I won't judge. |

Actually, Grease is right.....they've confirmed no more resets. I think it is ridiculous not to have a reset for official launch. They are probably trying to label the release as an open beta as a scapegoat for remaining bugs.
It is still silly to not have a reset if there is going to be an official launch. Nothing should be carried over from the beta except BPOs that were given through events. But definitely no skill point, ISK, etc advantages |

If people kick up a fuss about some words on a item on the PS store then they could call that a problem and reset everyone then problem sovled aurum returned, but i have a feeling a few people would be annoyed at such a occasion to be honest id preffer to see a wipe at launch when there will hopefully be a decent sp system in place, this sp system is the worst one to date

Then maybe CCP should also pay people the hundreds of dollars people have spent in EvE online, because it's always in beta, and people have lost tons of paid for ships. |

Open beta is technically release, since eve is still in open beta (10 years on). So there's no more resets. People keep using the 'unfair to new players' excuse but how many new people join games every day? Bf3 still has new people joining, eve still has new people joining, WOW still has new people Joining, as does DCUO, guild wars etc etc. No matter if its labeled as open beta or official release, there will always be new players in dust, and it's only a 2 week difference between the TQ migration reset for us closed testers and open beta. No big deal |

Yep eve had its official release in 2003, we just get expansions, and tbh if you wanna call open beta "open beta release"......well that's not until the 22nd, so didn't they refund our aur to soon? Tech not on their official release.....it is still closed beta after all, just sayn' |

Probably want to get your head out of the sand IT's not the official release, what is wrong with you people. The game doesn't even have a tank for each race. You think they will release the game without minmatar and ammar buildings to fight inside?
The game is far from release, there will still be a gag order on reviews because the game is barely half done.
We don't even have the top down commander view. Which we know is already done because it was once listed for release in the patch notes, but they cut it last minute because they had to focus on the core game play. But now that's down expect the game to finally start getting content. |

No big deal eve isn't a beta what the **** does that even mean? IT's got more content than final fantasy 14. Sure maybe wow has more content as far as **** ti do, but how in the **** is eve online, one of the highest rated and 3rd most subscribed mmo. It's graphics are top notch, and the game has 10 years of life in it. It was surely very beta ish for the 1st 3 years as they had to build up a lot of content, like captial ships and tech 2 and the rest of the core of eve. But to say it's still in beta just blows my mind.

Could you (or anyone else) please post a link to the statement that there will be no more resets? All I've seen is people claiming that it's an official statement but no one backs it up with a link to the statement.
I'm not at all saying it's not true or that I don't believe it, I just would like to read it for myself.
I would like to say though that all of you guys acting like folks have no reason or cause to be upset are completely out of line! If they go ahead with no official final release (open beta is NOT a final release date, if it were then it would be called a release date and not beta) and don't give us a reset then we most definitely have every right to be upset and disgruntled! What kind of crazy logic would think otherwise?
Open beta is NOT a final release date, if it were then it would be called a release date and not open beta. Besides that...if I'm understanding correctly...the open beta will not come with a reset either and this closed beta should absolutely not be considered the final release. Maybe that's the way things are done in PC games but it's just not the way things work on PS3. A character reset on the final release date is what was promised. If the last wipe and reset was going to be the final one then it's something that should have been made clear to everyone BEFORE it took place....not months later.
Some of you are completely incorrect in your smug statements! We were very much promised a reset of everything we purchased. We bought Merc packs under the claim and belief that an actual, official, final release date would be announced and come at some point later and when it did we would keep all SP earned in the beta and be refunded all Aurum spent during the beta to be re-distributed after the final release date and concurring reset. This is exactly what my Merc pack claimed and promised! By what twisted logic should I not be upset if they don't follow through on their statement and promise?
Maybe EVE players are used to getting the screws put to them but this is something new for most PSN players. Certainly a bit of anger is justified when someone finds out they've put hundreds of dollars into a promise that's not going to be kept. I've seen a lot of gamers get really pissed off over much smaller issues than this.
Right now I'm just glad that I only bought one Merc pack with faith in CCPs promise that I could use it as a practice account because it would all be reset when the official release day came. Sure, I'm a little disappointed, but I would be fuming mad if I dumped hundreds into what I believed was a practice character build and now found out that I'm stuck with my practice character for good!
Of course, this is not the first time any of us have been lied to by a developer or by Sony. However, the simple fact that it's not the first time doesn't help it to settle any easier. |
