I'm pretty sure the Merc Pack was pretty clear in stating that all Aurum and items would be refunded at the official release at the end of the beta. Seems they might have a bit of a liability at hand if they don't honor that arrangement. It would he a pretty cut and dry case of false advertisement if we don't get our Merc pack stuff at release. |

WRONG. We're still in "closed beta" and the Merc pack was clear that all items used during closed beta would be refunded. |

I'm fine with how they've gone about it personally, but I'm certain there will be plenty of people who feel the same way you do. It's a matter of principle. |

The point here, as far as I'm concerned,is that CCP needs to learn to communicate. Every response here is pure speculation, these concerns have not been addressed by CCP. Instead, they're fine with murky, half-ass explanations given to people who are paying real world money. Don't give a concrete description of the product you are selling people, and then intentionally get wishy washy when it's time to honor that description.
I fully expected when I paid CCP $20 that I would get those items refunded at the official release, because that's exactly what CCP sold me. CCP has already verified in clear terms that the open beta is NOT the official release.
For me, the only problem here is the principle. If CCP wishes to change the deal and believe they have a valid reason for not honoring it anymore, then THEY (the people who took my money) need to explain why, not let tweedle dee and tweedle dum explain their breach of contract on a BETA forum. |

that's plain BS and you know it. You're right in pointing out my error though, what we're actually talking about is the "commercial release". |

You're right in pointing out my error though, what we're actually talking about is the "commercial release". Well I am not the one who doesn't know how to use the petition system to get items that are missing from previously bought merc packs. And complaining to me is not going to get your items restored either.
Again, for me, this isn't about the items as much as it is about the principle. CCP seem to think it's perfectly fine to play fast and loose with my money, and don't see a need in communicating in clear language when they decide to no longer honor the product they advertised at the time of purchase.
I don't care about the items, I care about CCP's laissez faire approach to this entire process, and what it portents of future dealings within the game. |

Well, then you are bad with money.
How is it in any way "whining" to expect CCP to communicate clearly when they change the provisions of a product you've already purchased? If anything, I'd say the people bringing this up are, for the most part, being surprisingly even keeled and respectful about the whole thing. |

So many people here acting like internet lawyers.
This reminds me of some wannabe internet lawyers in Eve Online complaining that suicide ganking in high-sec space is against the Terms of Services posted by CCP because said internet lawyer calls ganking 'griefing' and that by allowing these ganks, CCP is allowing 'griefing' which is against the TOS. Silly, right?
I would say there's a pretty huge difference between what you are describing, and just straight up not giving the person the product they purchased. |
