I just joined this beta a week ago and all I seem to run into is the imperfects. And they are always the top ones in the battles even when they seem to be running by themselves. I searched in here and they seem to be the biggest corp. How does some one join them? Do you guys train soldiers?
I see they won some tournament did they get some sorta proto gear/weapons ?is that why they are always killing me? |

They're good players and some of them are really cool guys, some of them not so much. You really need to do some research into them (just as you would with any corporation) before you make a decision. That reputation can make you or break you. Having top ranks doesn't associate something that you're always going to get along with. |

Because from what i've seen each one is a good player on his own and when you put them together in a squad they basically form Voltron.
Haven't had the pleasure of playing against them much thanks to AU servers, but the few times i have this is what i've seen. |

It's more like Megazord actually. Kain is red ranger, Omni is blue ranger, Sleepy is Black ranger, Aldin is yellow ranger, and Zitro is pink ranger.
The others are occupy green/white ranger role.
Edit- I would have went with a thundercats reference but i think people are too you for that, though Voltron was a nice touch loved that show. |

From my experience the reason they are so good is because they are the best players in the game, and they decided to join together to become the force the rest of us all fear. But I must say when I go up against them I really feel like they play the game he any it should be played.'as a team that works together and know how to shoot.
I take the most pride in taking one down cause it is not easy. And you are right alone each one of them can handle themselves no problem but put them together and you really have a force to deal with. I loose a lot of clones to them but my heart races each time in hopes of getting a good kill in.
I've been reading there posts and the best advice I picked up was to use my best gear when going against them, I like most of the squads mates would usually switch to our free fits cause we knew we didn't stand much if a chance, but in the last build we would put it all on the line against them, and we would have some success. So don't be afraid to go hard at them. Especially if you want to be recruited by them. Which I imagine a lot of players do. Kill them enough ti es and they may recruit you |

Exactly please come at us and try and kill us. We die like anyone else. This is why we play the game. Skill trumps gear but its always best to use your best gear against good players. I tend to run cheap stuff but when facing good players i will run better stuff.

I love the daily show, watch it all the time.
I cant speak for the other imperfects too much, but I can speak for myself and my own observations and general play style.
I have allot of FPS experience all the way back to quake, CS and duke nukem as well as other games. So me and allot of imperfects have allot of experience to bring to the table.
I tend to approach things with a very determined attitude. I dont like to lose and I always want to play the best I can. Whenever I invest time into something I like to know I am putting in the maximum effort possible, whether its Dust or work or family and friends. I dont like to waste time, If I am going to do something I am going to do it to the best of my ability every time.
I am a very stubborn person, I dont quit and I am constantly running through scenarios as I play and thinking on my feet. When I am fighting someone I am not thinking about killing him I am thinking about how I can kill him to be in the best position possible to kill the guys behind him afterwards.
If I die I critically think about why it happened, what I could have done different, and how I can improve. Hell I do that even if I win. Victory is great and all but improvement is better. You can never be a better person then the person your going to be tomorrow.
I am my biggest critic
I am very analytical about my game play. I am not obsessive mind you once my skill cap is toast I'm on to bigger and better things. I just like to know I put in the 100%.
Want to know more? join IMPSwarm. ill squad with anyone who has a decent attitude, a good head on their shoulders and plays to win.
Also been playing since Beta start, so yeah.... that :P

Imperfects definitely have some talent and you can tell they've been at this game for awhile. But no team is unbeatable, and they fall under that role like every other big Corporation. Remember, this game hasn't opened up to the public just yet and is still not finished. In EVE, since the beginning..titan Corps have risen and fell through the years of the game. You never know what next big skilled Corporation will evolve to steal the spotlight that is Imperfects, Zion, etc. No question though, the people in that Corporation are good and it's always a pleasure to have a frag trading contest with them. Only been playing DUST for a week now and I'm proud to say I'm normally at the top 5 of the scoreboard on whatever side I'm fragging for and when I'm up against an Imperfect, I really need to throw on my try-hard pants. GG's out there so far Imperfects. I just thank all my years to playing Counter-Strike to giving me the required response time and aim to give you guys some fun games.
I look forward to the day that I get to see a full team of nothing but Imperfects on the opposite end instead of just a squad or two...that..will be a hell of a game. |

I disagree, was in one of the closest matches yesterday with docholiday and 1 other imp, final clone count being 1/0 vs 3 pink fluffy bunnies squad , our team was absolute **** with everyone below 5th going negative (I went 16/12) their team was awesome to play against, hope to get more games like that - one of pink fluffies must have got me 6 times and it wasn't with nades, he was just keeping his distance, trying to kite me, picking the spots.... was just very well played in my experience with them that match, was very infuriating (as a heavy) to see your target escape before you even get into range.
props to pink fluffies for that match, vgg :)
happy to squad with anyone as the rest of imps have said, I'm in LFSquad channel and use it when if I get bored of solo'ing.
P.S
the guys are right, SI. PFB, WTF are 3 awesome corps you should look at - I love WTF for their team skills, SI because their tactics always **** me off (yet work), and PFB because the tactics they use (from yesterdays experience) make you change your game style. |

Yeah, I don't really hate the Imperfects, it's just that many of the egos (whether a marketing ploy or genuine delusion) are gargantuan and tiresome. I am shocked, however, that a contingent of gamers are so hungry for praise and recognition from good players that they willfully humiliate themselves as a means of ingratiation. |

How exactly are they humilating themselves? By squadding with like minded members that want to win? I'll take that humiliation any day of the week.
I'm glad some of the players in Impswarm joined and I hope more decide to team up with us. I like playing with and against them and both of us will get better as the game goes on, which can only strengthen our base. |

Hate the imperfects all you want because we earned it.
However, everyone in IMPSwarm so far just logged in, squaded up, and try to be the best they can. The have done nothing to earn your disdain or insults. You haven't seen us dog out STB and deadpool for trying to get his new players corp battles and exp. You haven't seen us call SyN's training corp names either. I know right shocked we haven't been ******* about everything just yet. Yes we want to find more good players but we want to give more players the chance to have fun and play togther. its rough running solo in dust and it isn't going to get any eaiser.
We are vets of both fps games and eve and know things work. IMPSwarm is all about earning it on the battlefield if they want praise from us they need to deliver results. We run it the same way we do Imperfects.

good question and we have 2 reasons.
1. I was serious when i said we log in and grind our sp and do something else. ambush is faster way of doing it. 2. It's out of habit we are used to redlining the other team and then have to camp their redline and that gets really really boring fast. Makes matches seem really drawn out and lame. Not to mention we will get lame sniped from their redline snipers. Just over all made us not want to play.
I likes skirmish for a change, especially after i get 5 straight spawn deaths in an ambush map. That **** still amazing me that ccp will spam someone in a match right next reds over and over at the start of the match. |

Ambush is bad because the spawn system is garbage.
Skirmish is bad because blue dots determine the outcome, and if you redline the enemy, you have to deal with snipers firing from immunity and swarms doing the same at any vehicle on the field.
Plus, you get roughly the same payout from both. I can get screwed on spawns a few times in ambush, but the chances of someone losing a vehicle or getting lucky-sniped by one of the 80 snipers on the other team is higher in skirmish.
They're both not very fun to play, ambush is just less not-fun. |

Had one game where 4 people were tower camping with swarms (and not shooting the tanks which I ended up OBing) and 2 snipers in the middle of nowhere that didn't have line of sight to any of the enemies. We had to play 6 men down on top of rest of the amazing players that do things like go 2/12. Skirmish is incredibly frustrating to play at times, much more often than ambush, even if I punch my controller from bad spawns.
The only strategy in skirmish is take all the objectives yourself and as soon as you leave to go get the next point "wtf there were 6 blue dots there WHY IS THE ENEMY RE-HACKING IT ALREADY!?" |

No corporation or team takes brand new people in and puts them in the executive chair right away. You gotta earn your place. Its a corporation not a drive thru. As our corp gets bigger its important to maintain and improve the standard of play we have set out for the corp. People look for imperfects on the other team when the game starts. We have brand recognition for playing well, we want that to transfer over to EVE contracts. So when capsuleers pay us money they know they are getting exactly what they pay for. Maintaining a strong concise brand and message is the part of any corporation.
IMPSwarm is simply a way of bringing new players in and feeling them out and seeing where they will fit in best while improving their skills and teamwork. we don't look down on them at all. I treat them with respect and am happy to have them aboard. In turn we expect them to do their best and work hard to improve in any areas they may be lacking in.
It also gives us a chance to get to know them as people and what their aspirations are. Really its all pretty standard stuff. Just like probation and working your way through the ranks of any good PMC.
Success comes easy, keeping it is another story all together. |

I had written an extensive post, but when I submitted it it bugged and reverted the text to a prior draft, so a much more succinct answer:
I know not everyone, or even necessarily the majority, of IMPs members are megalomaniacs. With that said, you can't say that starting a junior corp doesn't feed the senior corps' egos. The humiliation stems from some players feeling a need for validation from what boils down to just another member of the community. They clamber to impress the gatekeeper who's post exists solely because of an idolization based on some empty hierarchy. The name IMPSwarm even implicitly suggests a zerg nature, that a "chosen few" can rise above to attain true legendary status. The sycophants gobble it up.
The rest was tangential and rambling so perhaps it's all well that it got cut.

IMPSwarm is the general army and not Imperfects. The reason it's Imperfects recruiting is that you get the same leadership and that appeals to certain people. You can join if you want sota pop always need a balance of vets and noobs to make the dust world go round. |

I can understand that viewpoint. I'm sure there are some people in every organization who are like that. I dont feel its epidemic by any stretch though.
However if someone was going to take a stance like that and it was negative or counterproductive to the corporation as a whole or produced negative results or brought other corp members down thus hurting performance and teamwork. I am fairly certain most members would be against that IMO. As it would cut into our bottom line eventually and take away from the fun of it. However If someone has a ego and plays well, they deserve a slap on the back and I dont hold it against them if they want to showboat. I mean if they have earned it they have earned it, and im sure when they get blown out of the water they get a good ribbing more so then anyone else. I dont mind a little bit of overconfidence from people, its good fun and it adds some personality to what might otherwise be a run of the mill dry process of grinding sp and waiting for something interesting to finally happen, and in dust that can take awhile .
As for interaction between IMPSwarm and the imperfects I certainly would not be ok if people where using them as some sort of kicking boy or where speaking down to them for some sort of inflated sense of self worth. But as i stated that is not the case and its more of a free interaction between members not some sort of forced hazing :P (not yet anyway ) lol jk Of all the guys I have worked with I would say they are not spiteful or vindictive even if they do enjoy a good argument At least not off the battlefield anyway, on the battlefield might be a different story. (dam tankers!!!) lol |

In my opinion (don't call me a hater that isn't what I'm doing by any means) they aren't that good. Its the fact that they work together. They probably share ideas tactics and drop suit set ups. They are probably social with one another and when in groups work together. But ive beaten an imperfect many times on the score board because solo they are imperfect but together they are the Imperfects (best cheesy tag line ever) |

Basically they look for every single loophole in the game They fly so high and drop off snipers, drop 3 tanks, or spam mass drivers. They have teamwork but as for skills? Eh about avrage they just know how to abuse the game system which in turn abuses the players and gives the game itself a nevative outlook. Especially with a new crop of players coming in! So if you like to do all the above the imperfects is the alliance for you, I'm not kidding when I say the Imperfects will run this game into the ground utterly destroy it for there own little minute of fame! And if you hate this post Well you're probably an imperfect and you know I'm right! We will see how things go. What's that saying? Things are only going to get worse! |

The devs are looking into them, if something fishy is going on. They'll get booted before the Official release. If you know what i mean. |

MR-NASTY wrote:From my experience the reason they are so good is because they are the best players in the game, and they decided to join together to become the force the rest of us all fear.
Kill them enough ti es and they may recruit you
lol I do that all the time but then again I'm normally sniping them but thats what I wanted to do lol |

I know it's late in the thread and I've said it before but, like it or not, at this point this is a FPS where being good at the basics wins. Most of the high profile Imperfects are good at the basics.
If you can manipulate the controller to put the center of the screen where you want it quickly and accurately you win. If a bunch of you together on the field can stick together while you do it and call out targets you are almost always dominant.
It's not magic -- it's a set of skills geared to class of game.
Are there other elements to the game? Sure. But at this point they do not dominate. Do the Imperfects lobby with the devs for a game that caters to their idea of fun? You bet. Is that a surprise? Do they screw around in games when they are bored? Yup. |
