I love the daily show, watch it all the time.
I cant speak for the other imperfects too much, but I can speak for myself and my own observations and general play style.
I have allot of FPS experience all the way back to quake, CS and duke nukem as well as other games. So me and allot of imperfects have allot of experience to bring to the table.
I tend to approach things with a very determined attitude. I dont like to lose and I always want to play the best I can. Whenever I invest time into something I like to know I am putting in the maximum effort possible, whether its Dust or work or family and friends. I dont like to waste time, If I am going to do something I am going to do it to the best of my ability every time.
I am a very stubborn person, I dont quit and I am constantly running through scenarios as I play and thinking on my feet. When I am fighting someone I am not thinking about killing him I am thinking about how I can kill him to be in the best position possible to kill the guys behind him afterwards.
If I die I critically think about why it happened, what I could have done different, and how I can improve. Hell I do that even if I win. Victory is great and all but improvement is better. You can never be a better person then the person your going to be tomorrow.
I am my biggest critic
I am very analytical about my game play. I am not obsessive mind you once my skill cap is toast I'm on to bigger and better things. I just like to know I put in the 100%.
Want to know more? join IMPSwarm. ill squad with anyone who has a decent attitude, a good head on their shoulders and plays to win.
Also been playing since Beta start, so yeah.... that :P

This is the secret to being good at any FPS. Fapping before a match calms the nerves.

Buzzin Fr0g-
Is this for real? An actual farm corp for the imperfects? Their hubris is astonishing. It's even sadder to see other players so readily dispense with their own self-respect and denigrate themselves as sycophants and groupies for a, granted, skilled but far from intimidating or "godly" corp.[/quote]
No corporation or team takes brand new people in and puts them in the executive chair right away. You gotta earn your place. Its a corporation not a drive thru. As our corp gets bigger its important to maintain and improve the standard of play we have set out for the corp. People look for imperfects on the other team when the game starts. We have brand recognition for playing well, we want that to transfer over to EVE contracts. So when capsuleers pay us money they know they are getting exactly what they pay for. Maintaining a strong concise brand and message is the part of any corporation.
IMPSwarm is simply a way of bringing new players in and feeling them out and seeing where they will fit in best while improving their skills and teamwork. we don't look down on them at all. I treat them with respect and am happy to have them aboard. In turn we expect them to do their best and work hard to improve in any areas they may be lacking in.
It also gives us a chance to get to know them as people and what their aspirations are. Really its all pretty standard stuff. Just like probation and working your way through the ranks of any good PMC.
Success comes easy, keeping it is another story all together. |

Gunpowder-Burns wrote:Wow I never thought this post would get answered. So you guys have a recruiting corp called the Impswarms I am not sure I am ready for the main corp but I would like to join you training corp. It would be so much better than facing against you guys. I know I'm new but how do you get to join? Do I send someone an email or is there a website?
you will still be facing us. We kill each other on opposite teams all the time. Best guys to train against.
talk to omni about recruiting, by doing a IMPSwarm corp search |

How exactly are they humilating themselves? I had written an extensive post, but when I submitted it it bugged and reverted the text to a prior draft, so a much more succinct answer: I know not everyone, or even necessarily the majority, of IMPs members are megalomaniacs. With that said, you can't say that starting a junior corp doesn't feed the senior corps' egos. The humiliation stems from some players feeling a need for validation from what boils down to just another member of the community. They clamber to impress the gatekeeper who's post exists solely because of an idolization based on some empty hierarchy. The name IMPSwarm even implicitly suggests a zerg nature, that a "chosen few" can rise above to attain true legendary status. The sycophants gobble it up. The rest was tangential and rambling so perhaps it's all well that it got cut.
Please refer to post #87 where I responded to your earlier statement. |

I believe you when you say YOU don't look down on them. I have it on good authority that you're an alright guy. I doubt that a feeling devoid of superiority is shared by EVERY one of your clan members.
I can understand that viewpoint. I'm sure there are some people in every organization who are like that. I dont feel its epidemic by any stretch though.
However if someone was going to take a stance like that and it was negative or counterproductive to the corporation as a whole or produced negative results or brought other corp members down thus hurting performance and teamwork. I am fairly certain most members would be against that IMO. As it would cut into our bottom line eventually and take away from the fun of it. However If someone has a ego and plays well, they deserve a slap on the back and I dont hold it against them if they want to showboat. I mean if they have earned it they have earned it, and im sure when they get blown out of the water they get a good ribbing more so then anyone else. I dont mind a little bit of overconfidence from people, its good fun and it adds some personality to what might otherwise be a run of the mill dry process of grinding sp and waiting for something interesting to finally happen, and in dust that can take awhile .
As for interaction between IMPSwarm and the imperfects I certainly would not be ok if people where using them as some sort of kicking boy or where speaking down to them for some sort of inflated sense of self worth. But as i stated that is not the case and its more of a free interaction between members not some sort of forced hazing :P (not yet anyway ) lol jk Of all the guys I have worked with I would say they are not spiteful or vindictive even if they do enjoy a good argument At least not off the battlefield anyway, on the battlefield might be a different story. (dam tankers!!!) lol |
