Yeah, I don't really hate the Imperfects, it's just that many of the egos (whether a marketing ploy or genuine delusion) are gargantuan and tiresome. I am shocked, however, that a contingent of gamers are so hungry for praise and recognition from good players that they willfully humiliate themselves as a means of ingratiation. |

How exactly are they humilating themselves? By squadding with like minded members that want to win? I'll take that humiliation any day of the week.
I'm glad some of the players in Impswarm joined and I hope more decide to team up with us. I like playing with and against them and both of us will get better as the game goes on, which can only strengthen our base. |

I cant speak for the other imperfects too much, but I can speak for myself and my own observations and general play style. I have allot of FPS experience all the way back to quake, CS and duke nukem as well as other games. So me and allot of imperfects have allot of experience to bring to the table. I tend to approach things with a very determined attitude. I dont like to lose and I always want to play the best I can. Whenever I invest time into something I like to know I am putting in the maximum effort possible, whether its Dust or work or family and friends. I dont like to waste time, If I am going to do something I am going to do it to the best of my ability every time. I am a very stubborn person, I dont quit and I am constantly running through scenarios as I play and thinking on my feet. When I am fighting someone I am not thinking about killing him I am thinking about how I can kill him to be in the best position possible to kill the guys behind him afterwards. If I die I critically think about why it happened, what I could have done different, and how I can improve. Hell I do that even if I win. Victory is great and all but improvement is better. You can never be a better person then the person your going to be tomorrow. I am my biggest critic I am very analytical about my game play. I am not obsessive mind you once my skill cap is toast I'm on to bigger and better things. I just like to know I put in the 100%. Hate the imperfects all you want because we earned it.
However, everyone in IMPSwarm so far just logged in, squaded up, and try to be the best they can. The have done nothing to earn your disdain or insults. You haven't seen us dog out STB and deadpool for trying to get his new players corp battles and exp. You haven't seen us call SyN's training corp names either. I know right shocked we haven't been ******* about everything just yet. Yes we want to find more good players but we want to give more players the chance to have fun and play togther. its rough running solo in dust and it isn't going to get any eaiser.
We are vets of both fps games and eve and know things work. IMPSwarm is all about earning it on the battlefield if they want praise from us they need to deliver results. We run it the same way we do Imperfects.
Like i have said before its just a game and many of you take us way more seriously then we take ourselves. |

good question and we have 2 reasons.
1. I was serious when i said we log in and grind our sp and do something else. ambush is faster way of doing it. 2. It's out of habit we are used to redlining the other team and then have to camp their redline and that gets really really boring fast. Makes matches seem really drawn out and lame. Not to mention we will get lame sniped from their redline snipers. Just over all made us not want to play.
I likes skirmish for a change, especially after i get 5 straight spawn deaths in an ambush map. That **** still amazing me that ccp will spam someone in a match right next reds over and over at the start of the match. |

Ambush is bad because the spawn system is garbage.
Skirmish is bad because blue dots determine the outcome, and if you redline the enemy, you have to deal with snipers firing from immunity and swarms doing the same at any vehicle on the field.
Plus, you get roughly the same payout from both. I can get screwed on spawns a few times in ambush, but the chances of someone losing a vehicle or getting lucky-sniped by one of the 80 snipers on the other team is higher in skirmish.
They're both not very fun to play, ambush is just less not-fun. |

Had one game where 4 people were tower camping with swarms (and not shooting the tanks which I ended up OBing) and 2 snipers in the middle of nowhere that didn't have line of sight to any of the enemies. We had to play 6 men down on top of rest of the amazing players that do things like go 2/12. Skirmish is incredibly frustrating to play at times, much more often than ambush, even if I punch my controller from bad spawns.
The only strategy in skirmish is take all the objectives yourself and as soon as you leave to go get the next point "wtf there were 6 blue dots there WHY IS THE ENEMY RE-HACKING IT ALREADY!?" |

No corporation or team takes brand new people in and puts them in the executive chair right away. You gotta earn your place. Its a corporation not a drive thru. As our corp gets bigger its important to maintain and improve the standard of play we have set out for the corp. People look for imperfects on the other team when the game starts. We have brand recognition for playing well, we want that to transfer over to EVE contracts. So when capsuleers pay us money they know they are getting exactly what they pay for. Maintaining a strong concise brand and message is the part of any corporation.
IMPSwarm is simply a way of bringing new players in and feeling them out and seeing where they will fit in best while improving their skills and teamwork. we don't look down on them at all. I treat them with respect and am happy to have them aboard. In turn we expect them to do their best and work hard to improve in any areas they may be lacking in.
It also gives us a chance to get to know them as people and what their aspirations are. Really its all pretty standard stuff. Just like probation and working your way through the ranks of any good PMC.
Success comes easy, keeping it is another story all together. |
