We are, at this moment, closed beta testers. Although some are trolling...there are some very good discussions and suggestions being made. But honestly, we don't know if it is falling on deaf ears. There are no interviews, no response to our requests, no announcements of improvements, etc.
We are going to be in this beta for more than a year and we don't know what's going on or what to expect. At the very least...you can provide Official Polls on issues for us to vote on. So, when the results are in, you will know where the community stands and we can expect those sort of changes to be made.
I don't know..just ranting again because I have no idea what direction this game is heading to. I'm refreshing the announcements section every half-hour looking for an update (just kidding). We have all of these issues that needs to be fixed but we have no idea when a new build is coming or what to expect from a new build. If you guys are going to implement more features that will stop all of our QQing all over this forum then announce it so that we can stop.
Because you are going to lose your playerbase. I am sure that people are actively participating in the beta but yet going to other games and telling other players that it sucks....before the game even comes out. Personally, I like the game and I want it to succeed but I can't speak for everyone.
So, just please....keep us motivated and excited. Because honestly, most of these testers are your pre-marketing vehicles. By word of mouth, they can create and maintain the hype or destroy it.

The more info from CCP the better. I know the employees have an NDA they can't break and probably they often don't know what they can or cannot talk about. Remember when one employee said we'd get three new maps in the next update and we only had ONE map... Yeah, I bet he is still in the dungeon.
CCP please give us more information when you can, even more replies to peoples thread: "I'll bring this up in the next meeting." - "We've discussed this issue before and are exploring fixes." "I personally like this idea."
Additionally Soon(tm) feels almost insulting :( |

The 2 links you put here just says : "fix in a next build/hotfix" or "under investigation and waiting for player feedback" ...
Well, I just agree with Ydubbs () : just getting bore with this game and devs.
Ok "it's a beta", but other games are coming, and who will still be testing in the next 2 weeks, honestly ?
And Oh!, btw, good idea to pull off servers statistics on eve-offline and gamechruker, now we can't see anymore that there are at most 300-500 players on the server (and I'm maybe too nice ...)
I'm not shouting FAIL, things can change, but CCP is loosing testers every day !!!
Edit : just take a look at forum activity ... It's really sad... |

I've posted on this topic twice, doesn't seem to help. I agree we need more direction with what they want us to test (besides everything).
If we had some idea of where they are going with this game it would help. Sometimes I don't know if they know. Such potential.

CCP lack of simple response to indivdual ideas are kinda depressing more and more people are leaving cuase this is a game we may be beta testing it but we need to feel were getting something out of it, all of our stuff going to get wiped so grinding stuff not important, we just running around posting random things on anything that comes time mind which is what we can do on any other game beta or not, and when someone comes up with a idea the devs may be listining they just dont respone to that thread even if its a good idea.
i would like CCP to respond to indivdaul threads with something other than soon(tm) it is insulting, i would love CCP to give us more of a idea of what we should be testing and trying to break obviusoly people ar going to create hundreds of AR, DS, and AV theads but is CCP getting enough feedback lets say for example on laser rifles or grenades? more direction for waht they like tested and broken would be helpful and would make visiting the forum more worthwhile. |

Agreed and the weekly update threads nice as they are don't help us in knowing what to concentrate on and are limited to quite technical stuff.
We need this forum to look a lot more like the eve forums does on good days. Where devs discuss current and upcoming features. Where players say things like "ehh have you fought about X regarding new feature Y" and devs is back a few days later saying "thanks, we didn't think about that we will do Z instead". We are not game designers we aren't supposed to be but as players we have a different perspective and can find problems that CCP don't think about even before things are even coded or deployed.
So CCP save time and money by talking to us. (ehh not me because I don't know jack about FPS:s)
Sure don't spill the beans on everything but there must be things that you can discuss. |

I personally think that is quiet around here cause there is probably a patch in QA atm. They would never tell us. I believe there was a bit of a lull from CCP just prior to release of the previous builds, so my best guess is that is why were not hearing very much from them as compared to a few weeks ago.

To some degree, not to every thread or every time, but here and there. Also more often if the thread is good and have well thought out suggestions. It's not perfect but it's noticeable more than here. Also sometimes they respond with jokes and non serious stuff. This make the whole forum feel a lot more involved.
Not sure why they don't answer here in the same amount it's different people but they should have the same guidelines and such. I guess we have to train our devs to get better, but it's hard when they don't even seem to read what we write. |

While I won't say that communication from CCP couldn't improve, a lot of the stuff I see repeating in this thread could be solved with the players taking more initiative.
If you want to help ensure CCP gets enough feedback on everything they should, pay attention to the topics on the forums. Notice the trends and what people are talking about and using, and try using different things and give feedback on that! A lot of people say "Well we're here to test" but not all of them do much more than play the game as if it were any other. I'm not saying the people above me in the thread do this, but the large majority of the people in the beta are just here to play the game and be additional load for the servers to make sure the servers can handle it. They don't post on the forums or send bug report petitions, etc.
Compared to the people who don't contribute, anyone (Okay, mostly anyone) who participates in the forums is doing an awesome job to help CCP make dust awesome.
That said - Their community team only really consists of two people, CmdrWang and Frame, and (among other things) a lot of their job is reading pretty much every thread + topic and summarizing the weekly goings-on of the forums to present it to the design teams in a meeting. If they responded to every thread they read (Which would be every post) Can you imagine how much longer their job would take? Not to mention, that they might not have an answer or response at the time they read the thread. For example, if a thread is asking about how an AR might be changed next build. Community team does not really participate too much in design, so they might not know the specifics of what the design teams actually did, only what they discussed in meetings, until the design team gives them solid info for them to use in an information release (be it a forum post, media release, whatever)
Design teams have an NDA, as mentioned above. There's not a lot they can say without getting a green light from the higher ups first.
Personally, I'd like to see them post a little more too. But, I do think they are doing the best they can with what they've currently got. |

CCP is still by far the best at communicating with their gamers.
If you want more immediate feedback or a face to face discussion you can always get on the beta IRC and talk to the devs.
A good portion of the community has started to ignore these forums because of the terrible suggestions and trolling. Those are terrible reason to leave of course, and just makes things worse. |

its pretty bad when the fourms are dying how many players actaully play the game now 100 to 200 at any one time alot of matchs you get dumped into ones that are alreay started thay is a good indication of thier not being alot of people on. The forums are slow to respond and theres not much going on, and with AC3, CoD BO2, Halo 4, PS2 all of those are games that people including us beta testers are going to start playing more and thus less time on the game and even less feedback in the fourms. |

CCP has really bad communication channels. You call change in timings for tourneys, bad managed tourneys, confusions in updates "by far the best at communicating"? I have been a gamer for over 20 years. I have played the ataris and nintendos. I have gamed on x80s, 286s,386s, 486s and above. I have played every console there is to play and every company that has produced any games. And me tell you this;- CCP is the worst when it comes to communication.
Look at the state of the forums. It is pathetic. You have devs over stepping genuine ides/feedbacks and themselves too. Support takes it own sweet time in getting back to you unless its something really serious.
The Corp tourneys in the second week were delayed and once started soon. All they posted about it was in the forums. You think everyone is on the forums all the time?
Polls is a good idea but CCP never uses it. Popular vote counts not what everyone keeps QQing about. |

Most of your complaints here have little to do with how well they communicate with their gamers. I personally have never gotten this much face time with devs in a game. |

what you want them to twitter you every time they take a dump?
i mean hell they created the beta, up'ed it a couple times, started implementing stuff.
what else can they do?
you know what direction the game is headed = "finished"
that's the direction. unless you want it to go north or something?

Ehh. I feel kinda iffy on this. I respect CCP a lot, and I do feel like they care about their community. But they could use more communication especially on the forums. I wish they would be more open about their plans, what they are trying to acheive in the next build, what they want ideas on, etc. but then also they should try to reply to good feedback and discussions. Certainly not every forum post, but at least say, "thanks for the input, I like X suggestion" or maybe, "well, this isn't concrete, but we have been tossing around idea Y for the warbarge, any suggestions?"
If people QQ about a change in plans, ignore them. If people have a reasonable complaint about a change of plans, hear them out. The benefit of revealing more to the community would outweigh the downsides.
I mean, really. CCP has only so many workers to tackle a problem. Throw a bone out to the community, and say, "How should Skyfires work?" Then you got thousands of minds working on it for free. You dont have to use evey suggesion, but the ideas that are good were free and didn't take up CCP's time.

Yeah, see I'm not asking for a response on every thread. But take the swarm launcher and dropship issues.....does anyone know what's being done about it. Does anyone know if there is anything being done about it.
There were threads upon threads about the sp cap. I didn't see any resolve to that either. And the thing is a lot of people were excited about features promised. But we haven't seen many of them to date. So, a little note on what's going on with that would've been nice.
As I said before...I am pushing for ccp to be successful and they have implemented things in this game which I love. So, I'm on ccp's side....this wasn't a ccp bashing thread. It was just a suggestion. |

Honestly, someone posted a link to a section on the forum (in this thread) where they have discuss certain fixes. I wasn't aware of it before he posted it.
