I mean, i am reading all these comments and i get the sense that a lot of the gamers are of the older crowd. For example, i am one of the younger guys. What would be your best guess for a percentage? young/older i have a feeling its around 30/70

EDIT. How about, younger being under 25. If you are just a little older, no worries. I hear the grey hairs don't kick in for a while |

I have seen and heard both but mostly I would say you are able to find and play with people of similar age and attitude. I have had some good success in the LF Squad chat, i encourage you to find people there.
As for a direct answer to your question, I would guess >50% over the age of 25. |

I'd say the younger ones have the numbers, us old git's have limited time due to the missus moaning and kids wanting the ps3 for themselves.
I'm 44 yes that old, so i got a reason for being a crappy player. |

Since most of the players here are from Eve, I would say that the average age is greater than 27, matching Eve's demographics.

There was a thread a ways back on age that turned into a bit of an "old guys" thread. It would seem that we do have a good % of 30+ players. Which considering the dynamic of this game and that the PS3 has a higher average age than the competition, isn't all that surprising. Eve runs on the older side as well.
Myself...I'm in the upper range of the 30's with a daughter about your average CoD player age. Being my daughter though she's trying to talk her CoD playing friends into a Dust Kids Corp. I don't know if that will pan out but I'll be providing support if does. Could be trouble. |

I think the demographics are going to change dramatically once we're past release. Right now, to be part of the beta you need to: A) have been here since the early stages of the beta. B) got in via the PSN Home trial-of-terror. C) be a paying customer of the Eve or Mercenary Pack kind.
All of these select for non-childish players (and look how immature these boards are anyways). After release the F2P-model will in turn select for a less mature community. |

EVE players are generally a bit older than many online game communities. Around late 20s early 30s on average I think. |

Jeez, i think i am one of the only people who signed up for the beta in like January and got an email about a week ago. I keep hearing about the trial of terror though.... I got lucky! |

But its great to be getting all these responses. Well, i think i am the lowest stakes player here at a solid 15.514 years of age. But i can keep up with you old timers, no problemo.
But yeah, it is nice to know that everyone here is actually a touch more mature than CoD 10 years olds whose voices are so high than i honestly have no clue what they are saying, only that they are screaming their heads off
Anyways, AGE GROUPS UNITE, AND FIGHT FOR THE GALAXY!
And to the person talking about a kiddie corp...well....i dunno if thats a great idea.... |

The number of "kids" (and by kids I mean attitude more than age) is less in BF3 than CoD and will be even more so in Dust. They may try it but there will be lot of "WTF is this" and will be quickly out the door. I think the nature and complexity of Dust is designed more for your older gamer that has been around the block and is looking for more in their gaming time. There is nothing to exclude your 16 year old gamer I'm just saying chances of the younger crowd getting hooked and sticking is much lower than it is in the older demographic. |

18 here. Been playing MMOs since I was about 9, tried EVE a while back in a trial but i guess I was still too young for it, seemed like an extraordinary game that I will proper try to get into when I've got some cash and time ^_^ |

29-33 ish. The 60 post is kind of an outlier. Far outlier. But most certainly an awesome one! |
