Universe being infinite is another taken for granted number that just might not be true. We are getting into truly fuzzy concepts now though. For the record I think there is self-aware, replicating "somethings" out there, although I am not sure they are of the same scale or composition of what is commonly assumed for "life".

we haven't found the number for the universe yet so we just call it infinite for now.
but it is truly a big number. |

Considering the mind boggling numbers, I highly doubt that Earth is the only planet to have the perfect conditions to sustain life. Also bear in mind that Scientists have based this on carbon life forms... What's to say that there isn't life forms that are created by alternative means.
So do I beleive that there is life beyond our Solar System? - Yes! Do I think we'll ever see them? - Highly unlikely |

I was under the impression that the universe is expanding in every direction that it could one day stop expanding and begin to collapse again.

I believe that we as homo sapiens are the highest evolved form of life currently in this galaxy. If we ever came in contact with something else then I would of course change my position... But, I am of the opinion that if they ever landed on our planet we should kill them. Historically whenever a more advanced civilization came in contact with a less advanced one, bad things have happened even if there were good intentions.
So, put me in the "could be life and if it is smarter than us we should kill it" basket. |

1. if there is other life (which i do believe) we are not the most advanced
2. if you want to kill them, good luck. I wish i knew you better before every cell in your body simultaneously combusted |

If i was an alien life form the last people i would want to talk to is humans.. savage brutal predators with silly, backwards dogmatic beliefs. A young civilization that still wars with itself, and cant even keep its own terrestrial planet in good condition?
So sure, aliens are problably real but our system is problably under quarintine and most aliens give earth a wide burth.. hence why we've had no imperical evidence that they are real.

That's why there is no reason to believe we won't be the first to achieve it, in some way, in our galaxy.

Yeah... and then the rest of us came over.. look i think its great that you have such a high opinion of us. But facts and history are working against you.. the fact is if aliens suddenly appered in our solor system you.can bet your ass they are using advanced tech. cause we havent been able to do it. Ffs we JUST got to Mars! Lets just say they are hostile super preditors (which is most likley if you follow the Drake equation) you think they have mastered space flight and are going to attack us with flint-lock rifles?? Whats that saying? There is always a bigger fish? And in the near infinate universe you think WE are the biggest ones??
LOL.

If people don't believe in aliens, then they're just ignorant.
I tell them each time, "So of the billions and billions of planets out there in space, not a single one has some sort of alien lifeform? We're the 1:1,000,000,000 + planets that have "alien" life? GTFO!"

Or they will just send satellites like we have up there flying around... I am for destroying it so they think it is lost or something like that.

I don't think that at all. I have already said that as of right now all evidence suggests we are the most advanced species in the galaxy. So until then, I believe that we are the most advanced species in the galaxy. Kind of like how since I don't see any evidence for a magical sky fairy to have created the Earth in 7 days, I don't believe it. |
