DUST Search - What I would call "Counter strike" disease

Somehow I though (wishful thinking) that the era of FPS alla Counter Strike, where you spawn and get killed in less than 2 seconds, was part of the past. I was clearly wrong.

Rewarding long time players with better equipment (they can buy it by constantly playing and earning in game currency) and ways to kill the opponent easily without a dent on their armor is all well and good. I like that. It is part of the game.

BUT please...let the new guys also into the game. It is frustranting.

It is frustranting. at the moment were all earning skill points at a hyper accelerated rate so we can test more features within the beta, when the game is released progress will be far slower and the percentage of players running around with proto gear will be far lower. so your point should hopefully be invalid come full release.

Well, it's not. You can play solo or join a corp that will take contracts from Eve corps. There will be missions from NPC corps for those solo people but most people will be in corps. So get used o battling with and against higher lvl players. Just because they are higher doesn't mean they're better skilled.

If you can't hit a target you can't no matter how many points you have in skills. But how would you know that since you lack skills.

New people now have it so much harder, even though back in our day, the maps went uphill both ways...

Matchmaking in high-sec will keep SP's grouped nicely, low-sec is where people will go when they get into one of the Faction Warfare corps and you may see a slightly bigger gap there, but people that make it that far will probably learn how to fight uphill battles as best they can if they don't whine and quit. Null-Sec will see high-SP corps fighting other high-SP corps because we are a commodity. To EVE players we are a weapon used to control planets, nothing more and nothing less, and when you want to control something you will shell out for the best weapons to fight for their shizzle. If the corp you are in has a crappy track record, say goodbye to being in the big leagues.

Was it a fantastic mod that grew into it's own game? Sure. Was it fun? Yes. However the game has problems. Namely players, and those who call thmeselves veterans. Such benign egotistical pisants. Personally the best way to look at Counter Strike is through a fog of nostalgia, and the amount of memes it gaves us. "'Cause you know everyone runs faster with a knife." Not accepting what it has become over the years is just sheer ignorance though. Not to say I hate Counter Strike, for which I do not. I have a lot of hope for the new Counter Strike title releasing this year even if it mainly is only a rebuild of what Counter Strike already is -- "if it's not broke though don't fix it." -- which can be taken several ways. I am hoping they only fixed what needed fixing personally. Hopefully though they can keep the cheating to a minimum this time. Edit: Everyone should atleast have heard or seen this too..
