So, there you go bara. Between two nearly identical threads, nearly every CPM member has posted "nda, can't say anything, but we are here.."
Does that make you happy? Figured not..

Guess it's not CPM's fault at all. I mean, if anyone of them could make a huge announcement or tease they certainly would.
That said, I'm still sure that CCP policy is counterproductive - whether they're working on anything new or not. I myself am a huge fan of the game, but I don't play a match since a year ago! I know I would still be playing if there was some kind of development, or if I knew there was some kind of plan. Even just a "we have a plan".

"They have a real life" Don't apply for CPM then
Why do people have this idea that they do loads anyway? They speak to a Dev once a month and even then the Devs will just palm them off and pretend they're listening, not complaining, I prefer it this way.
Inb4 a CPM member posts a bunch of bullet points of stuff that would have probably happened anyways that they "influenced"
The CPM rep tool event? The fact that they had to put "CPM" in it proves it's just an illusion to appease people. |

This is all I was asking for thank you Darth and I agree with Riley.
I just want a reason to spend time. If Darth has seen some things that are cool that's all I need to know. I just needed that right there. I feel better thank you.

Only reason I ran for CPM was because I knew I would still be playing my whole term.
I also knew that between work and play, it would be hard to find time to CPM.
And I knew you chuckleheads would make it impossible to play on my main.
And the fact that any of you think they would dust on their mains is hilarious... IWS was that kind of special. And he played when one could easily TK blue vehicles in pubbs.
Would you? Nope.

Just one point of order that's been brought up a couple of times so I'd like the pop that particular bubble.
The only CPM that was flown and hotelled at CCP's expense to Fanfest was CPM0.
CPM 1 and 2 haven't been and I've got the bills to prove it. I knew that I'd NOT get a free trip to Iceland before standing for both CPM 1 and 2 but did it anyway.
For full disclosure we do get our CPM Passes for the three days so we don't pay for Fanfest entry but everything else was paid for by the bank of me.
Feel free to link this response to anyone who continues to say we did it for a free trip and for for those of you that still think we did it for 'ego and free trip'.....
Sod off.

Graphics changes =/= core gameplay.
Although I suppose one could argue that because the graphics were improved and the game became laggier.

The core gameplay is actually the same.
Different shaders, GI and HUD/GUI effects perhaps. All of those might/might not change the gameplay, and in Dust case they didn't.
Gameplay means literally "all the stuff you do while in game" or in a more accurate deffinition "anything that involves the player ingame" or simply "game experience": Hacking things, hacking other things that are more important than others, calling in tanks, shooting itself is part of the gameplay and it is pretty much the same as four years ago. Now, one may argue that adding myos superjump is actually a change in gameplay, and in my opinion it is. But that's just one of the few gameplay differences I see now.

The core gameplay is not the same. Saying so implies you didn't play the closed beta, including on the weekends. Everything was different - the feel, the sounds, the installations, the MCC actually moving from one point to another, the weapons, and you didn't have people jumping around like kangaroos (before the horrible myo fib change) with shotguns and mass drivers.
Everything was much better during closed beta, and it's only gone backwards since.

Everything was much better during closed beta, and it's only gone backwards since. Not everything has gotten worse. We have had some improvements and many additions to the game since then. While I agree some things were executed better in closed beta, there are some things that are better now.

But I really don't disagree with that. I only wanted to shed some light on the "gameplay" word. What I really meant is that, beside the "feeling" with the game, the core gameplay is basically the same: you have to choose what dropsuit to use, how to fit it, then you search a match, then you play the game in a certain way etc.
For example: the moving MCC don't really add anything to gameplay, it adds some kind of immersion. Sound also doesn't add anything important gameplay-wise, unless, for example, CCP decides to add a much stronger footsteps sound: this way the gameplay would change because people modify the way they play the game, paying attention not to make too much noise. This would be a slight gameplay-changer, but it still does change it.
Another drastic gameplay changer, however, would have been the closed beta "experimental" sniper rifle: it had special behaviors and bullet travel time and falloff (it was as buggy as hell, that's why we don't have it now). Needless to say, this would have changed the way snipers snipe. And if we had bullet travel time and bullet falloff on certain weapons, this would also change the gameplay drastically.
Edit:
I almost forgot, another gameplay changer has been the introduction of cloak device

I think the point they are trying to make is that the CPM shouldn't consist (for the most part) of people you could consider "Forum Warriors". I feel like the CPM should consist of players who legitimately don't do anything but play Dust. There are plenty of us out there and I think that we could do a lot more to appease the community than the current CPM who I literally never see in a match. How are you supposed to help fix a game you never/barely ever play? Aside from mazzzturbating and eating chicken nuggets I really don't do anything but play Dust, I think I'd make a much better CPM member than many of the current CPM members I could rattle off.

You want the CPM to be people who play the game a lot, but, honestly, that only helps them create their own opinions, not collect and pitch the community's.
Ideally, the CPM should be people who are very social and connected with the playerbase, so Forum Warriors who occasionally play the game are much better choices for the Council than active Dust addicts.
Of course, it is difficult for the CPM to socialize with the playerbase when everyone sh*t talks them and tries to tell them how to do their job. I would hate be in their shoes, and I'm pretty sure you would too.
Also, read Breakin's posts: They do play the game.

Sincerely, Glantix / Ice But the majority of the current CPM does not play the game on anything near a regular basis, how can you socialize with players you never play with? I agree they have a difficult job and wish them godspeed in every sense of the word but dammit none of them play like we play. We are there, every single day, debating balancing issues and new ideas. We're the ones getting wrecked by the things that need a nerf and playing with the roles that need a buff, not the CPM (from my personal view of the battlefield). They don't play the game like many other players play the game and I feel like if your job is to socialize with a playerbase you should be a player, but the last time I saw a CPM in a battle it was 3 months ago and it was Breakin Stuff, him and Darth are the only two CPM's I could even confirm exist anymore. I'm not saying the CPM is doing a bad job, I'm just saying nobody notices them doing their job at all, good or bad. I feel like they should make more of an effort to mingle, hell, I'll invite every single one of them to OBTB and we can have a grand old party and they can hear my points about ADS balancing.
TLDR: I feel over-represented and under-understanded by the CPM
