Clearly all other console FPS games on the market that are implementing much stronger aim assist are doing it wrong. We don't want any of that pick-up-and-play experience. Player retention can only be achieved through steep learning curves and punishing input mechanics.
In all honesty, I recently played Destiny for a few days. Within a few hours I was scoring about 30% critical hits ('headshots') and missed almost no shots at all. In Dust - despite years of practice - I still have trouble tracking enemies at all sometimes. In comparison Dust is an exercise in frustration.
(However Destiny became boring for me due to completely unrelated reasons, but that'd be offtopic.) |

That was my first thought as well. The DS3 and specifically the sensitivity that they have given it its just plain not good enough for real FPS action.
Shotguns, Mass Drivers, and Flaylocks would become the only viable weapons.

I've been playing BO3, PS2, and other FPS games on the PS4. I didn't have a ton of FPS experience before Dust.
I don't think people who complain about this have ever played other games. BO3 has a much lower TTK and the aim assist is much stronger. |

It should be either alt 8800 or alt 2260 but those do not seem to work in windows 10.
You have to use the numpad with num lock turned on.
In windows 10 I get
Gòÿ for 2260
and
` for 8800
Even the win 10 character map shows it as 2260 so I am a bit confused right now.

Yea it seems that unicode only works in windows programs.

Why in the h*ll do people need this game to be about how well you can aim a pixel gun with a dinky controller? That is so narrow minded and does not substitute for bad game design. This game is absolutely a game that had a chance to be about great tactics and strategies, epic battlefield engagments with vehicles and support elements and team play dynamics.
I don't play a video game to learn how to shoot a rifle with a controller any more than I shoot a rifle to learn how to play a video game.
Movement is what needs nerfing in this game if you're worried about the jiggly dance. If you enjoy bragging about how well you can aim a rifle then I suggest you buy a real gun and start practicing. Is this what strict gun laws have done to other countries? Made people seek gun skill in video games? If you're American you've got nothing holding you back. Go crazy!

My friends always wonder how I got good. I always say Dust 514.
But since Dust is so much harder than Call of Duty, none of them want to play Dust. They're always complaining about how that person should've died, etc.

Aim assist is not the problem. In fact, DUST has very little aim assist compare to most other FPS console games. The main problem with DUST is DUST supports KB/M (keyboard and mouse) where few KB/M players are able to constantly do headshots while most are lucky to get headshots here and there with their thumbsticks. Besides, to make a controller strafe back and forth, there is a neutral space that must be passed across causing a delay in movement while arrow keys have no such neutral space thereby going left to right and right to left without delay.
This has been pointed out numerous times.
