All the CPM candidates said that the NPE was a big concern to them and they would work to fix it, The biggest, and worsening, problems on Dust are proto/officer stomping squads and people leaving matches, yet this event does nothing but encourage both behaviors. A new player has almost no chance of completing the event and will only face greater frustration than usual. The prize is a respec. If you are capable of getting 514 kills in a week, guess what?, you don't need a respec. The guys who need a respec are the ones who can't complete the missions because there suits are too weak. What the hell were you thinking?
I understand CCP's reasoning. Use up lots of officer gear, make it frustrating so people will buy Aurum stuff, but the CPM is supposed to be looking out for the players, not screwing them over. Well, then again, it is pretty well documented that the CPM looks out for their protostomping buddies every time, I guess my question is rhetorical.
Because, that's why.

I don't even know where to begin, so I won't.
Except to say...
Where the hell did you get the idea that we get to dictate what CCP does, again? Last I checked, "Telling Rattati what he can and cannot do" wasn't on the list of things we're allowed to do.
But given the general tone of your post, I don't particularly feel the need to justify myself further. Have fun.

This is a fair point. Don't think I've seen even one CPM express interest in improving the NPE, so it's not really fair to hold them to something they don't consider important.
Something is killing new player retention.

CPM doesn't have "power over CCP". They can give feedback and that can sometimes change CCP's mind. I guess you could say they have a limited influence over CCP. But remember that CCP can opt to completely ignore CPM feedback and do what they want. The CPM might have had lukewarm reactions to this event and CCP said, "**** it, this event is easy to code and it's in time for Halloween so we're doing it."

Let us hope they were sneakily gathering data to tone down the GalAssault
Games improved in so much as, more players pushed for kills, but if CCP look at the data from battle results surely than can also see how horrifically balanced a lot of the battles are and that something needs to be done about it.

That seems to be your response to all criticism, "I don't like your tone so screw you". Allow may have been a poor word choice, so I'll ask instead if you opposed this event and voiced your opposition?

Why should I have voiced an objection to the event? It's an event. Everyone puts on their best to smash through them with a quickness to guarantee they reap the rewards. Doesn't matter what kind of event you put in, people are going to rock their top game 100%.
But I feel that getting mad at the CPM because you don't like the event is more than a little petulant.

Stop Whining and play! well, it-¦s not that easy...
as a quite new player to this game, I can only say that this event wasn-¦t ment for noobs like me. I play because of fun and do not care about k/d ratio, but last week haven-¦t been that fun playing. I-¦ve played like 20 matches a day to get that skin not the 514 kills. But where-¦s the fun in facing such great players that only need one or maybe two shot to kill me? (I use apex suits so I won-¦t lose isk) It can be frustrating to check match raport just to se k/d ratio 0.09 Another thing about the event is that like half the blue and red team are snipers, not much help from those guys when trying to win matches.
But what the heck, I managed to get the skin and also -+ of 514 kills in a week! (that is good for players like me) Luckily this event is over soon, so dust players become more human again and play for fun. (putting those super high tech expensive proto suits away in the closet again) Nice to have events, more players online and that is important for this game! Last week I played a special match 13 blue vs 0 red....not easy to score wp in that match (actually it was 13 vs 1, but that bad ass named player dropped out immediately when started)
You miss 100% of the shots you donGÇÖt take.

Heh... Jeez...
I mean, we -just- finished hitting the warbarge passive officer gear generation. I dunno about you but I consider that a major success considering the impact it's had on the game since conception. There will never be a time, this CPM or the next, where we will address all the problems in one fell swoop (at least, not without outright breaking the game).
So, my question is what would you like us to do, exactly..? Put yourself in our shoes and tell us what you would have said to CCP. How would you oppose the stomping in the event?

So, my question is what would you like us to do, exactly..? Put yourself in our shoes and tell us what you would have said to CCP. How would you oppose the stomping in the event? I'm not joining the CPM hate squad here, but some suggestions that could have been made to Ratatti:
Rather than 21 matches won -
40 matches joined and completed (to discourage players leaving matches)
Rather than 514 kills -
514 Kills and Assists (to help those who have to sit through stomps match after match unable to get the last hits on enemies and reward newer players who help to take down targets)
Again, not joining the mob's side, but if you had suggested something a little more friendly towards low SP players and non-stompers then you would be here saying that you tried rather than defending the fact that you didn't try by showing what you did to help the overall game. The warbarge change will eventually be a huge help once all of the officer gear becomes more rare again, but neither I nor most of the people I've seen post about it noticed any significant drop in Officer gear usage during this event due to those changes and this event is the only means many of the people who play this game will be able to get a respec due to not having the finances to buy one.
In the future maybe it might be a good idea to look at how an event might be percieved and voice an opinion on it, that's all I'm saying. Trying to be 100% constructive here and as non-trolly as I can. I know you guys have very busy lives outside of the game as well (you especially), but as a community representitive it might be good to try to think ahead about events as well as the in game changes.

Don't forget the rewarding wins is good to prevent people afking matches and to encourage actual fighting.
Including assists sounds good though. |

But remember that CCP can opt to completely ignore CPM feedback and do what they want. The CPM might have had lukewarm reactions to this event and CCP said, "**** it, this event is easy to code and it's in time for Halloween so we're doing it." Have you seen anything to suggest that the CPM voiced any opposition to this event or other events that encourage stomping? I haven't. Heh... I'm not joining the CPM hate squad here, but some suggestions that could have been made to Ratatti: Rather than 21 matches won - 40 matches joined and completed (to discourage players leaving matches) Rather than 514 kills - 514 Kills and Assists (to help those who have to sit through stomps match after match unable to get the last hits on enemies and reward newer players who help to take down targets) Again, not joining the mob's side, but if you had suggested something a little more friendly towards low SP players and non-stompers then you would be here saying that you tried rather than defending the fact that you didn't try by showing what you did to help the overall game. Yeah, that's a fair assessment. We'll see what we can do with the next event. Thanks for the feedback. You see that ****?
That is the **** that happens when you provide detailed feedback and aren't a ****.
+1 to Baal for being useful.
