It's not only not stupid - your argument is stupid. if MCC has turrets that could fire down on there own ground spawn there wouldn't be any issue at all with removing red-line. And the red-line existence MAKES BALANCE IMPOSSIBLE.

People complain about getting deployed to 'bad' / 'lost' matches... so CCP sets the matchmaker so that people don't get deployed to 'bad' matches. People complain about some other stuff, so CCP tweaks the matchmaker so that it takes a few minutes before deciding to repopulate a match (I think this had to do with MU values. People complain about how easy it is for a single six man squad to dominate a match (and this is true - look at what happens in fw with 8man squads that aren't countered by better 8 man squads), so CCP reduces squad sizes. It turns out that "Vets" don't like fighting "Vets" because they're assholes with tiny *** syndrome that need to exploit every broken mechanical advantage they can get. So people start going "Oh, I dont like fighting those guys... I'm leaving" usually taking their squads with them... which causes other "vets" to go "OMG WE'RE DOWN PEOPLE, THIS IS STUPID" because the matchmaker doesn't repopulate immediately and they leave... at which point the matchmaker goes "Oh, this is a bad match, I'm not going to repopulate it" and the match that might have actually been "okay" if people played it, is now a genuinely bad match (largely due to vets being pretty risk averse, passive and utterly frustrating to play against). Congrats guys... this is the matchmaking that YOU complained hard enough to get. You are ruining matches and you have NO ONE to blame but yourselves, because this is what YOU asked for.
