Dear lore enthusiasts
as part of the progression feature we are working on, I decided to go for a thematic approach, inspired by EVE Online.
Something a little more exciting than "Minmatar Combat Standard Loadout".
I really like how EVE players refer to their ships, "took my dual repped Manticore out for a spin yesterday", instead of "I took my light tech 2 Caldari frigate out for a spin".
So I took on, what I thought would be difficult, but was not prepared for just how difficult, to name all theoritical loadouts, per faction and role, including aur variants. I based many of the names off of the forum thread IWS managed and other community suggestions, and two lore masters from EVE, and of course my own enthusiasm of great sounding names and lore.
Now over to you, I would appreciate any final feedback and suggestions, to hone the list. Please just say "replace X with Y because", that will make it easier for me to organize.
Finally, there are some finnish, japanese and religious terms, that I would like native speakers to comment on because I don't want to be offensive, because I liked how something sounded. .

For one, the Gallente Combat Loadout is complete horrid and needs a change.
Unless I'm looking at an older fit we really need to swap out the three armor plates for two armor repairs and a Ferroscale plate.

Ohhh you mean actual name names.
Sorry, I misread the post. I thought you were asking to change the actual suit loadout names. I got that confused with actual lore names for the actual suit series.

Replace the two options for Gallente Assault with Ares (The God of War)
Gallente Logistics: Pholus (Another centaur just like Chiron, who helped the god hercules)
Gallente Commando: Helios (like Atlas, Helios is also a Titan that plays a major role in protection and safety)
Also, Proteus is already taken by the Tier III Gallente Cruiser in EVE. Are you alright with duplicating that in DUST?

A different name for every tier/AUR variant, does that mean that LP variants will also be getting their own names, or just becoming Imperial Issue?
It'll be very interesting, and thus far with what I'm reading it's good. The only thing I have anything resembling a problem with are the Amarr Heavies...maybe that's just the individual pieces of armor bugging me for the whole suit...but I'll wait for Adamance to weigh in on them.
Are you planning on having different names for all the tiers of HAVs as well? (And a quick note on the Random Page, the Garmur is a Mordu's Legion Frigate.)
By large-in-part though, I like the names though (Especially for the Amarr Logis)...(And for what it's worth my minmando buddy likes the Minmando Names a lot)
On the subject of Amarr Logi, can you put the Chayot as the Proto ISK variant?
Overall, +1 to the overall concept and most of the names
Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.

Overall good names, although I can only comment on the sound of them as well since I'm not Finnish or Japanese.
If you ever desire to use Swedish gods and monster names, I might be able to help 
One question: Since you seem to have separate names for all different tiers, how will this mesh with the tiericide / PowerCore idea (if that becomes a thing?) Will the name then move to the power core? |

an adv loadout will be a std dropsuit with adv powercore, the loadout is still "unique"

Rattati... Name the suits and thats that. Naming every theoretical suit is too much.
Name the suits with those boss names you already have. Adv std and proto. Include a name before the suit which will list the types of weapons it has by damage profile and tank type.
Example
Suit name garm (commando m/1)
Damage profile weapon 1 - projectile
damage profile weapon 2 - PROJECTILe
Result "Double tempest garm"
Armoe tanked - azura
End result
"Double tempest azura garm"
So what does the name say?
I got killed by an armor tanked dual projectile weapon using advanced minmatar commando.
Maybe this will make your life easier?
Make this appear in the name of the fitting
