I'll keep an eye out for a post that begins the next day. I'm surprised quirky 4th wall breaks aren't more well received. For some reason a post apocalyptic 50's redscare american is really messed up.

I've been watching you guys, and I have to say, this is my favorite thread to come out of the Locker Room. Makes me realize how ******* amazing a multiplayer mode would be for New Vegas. I think I'll just make a character for SnG. Maybe he will show up in your travels...
Name: Harriot Silvers
S:7 P:8 E:7 C:3 I:5 A:8 L:4
TAG: Guns, Survival, Melee
Perks: Cowboy, Hunter, Grunt, Run 'n' Gun, Rapid Reload, The Professional, Hit the Deck, Center of Mass Traits: Trigger Dicipline
Race: Caucasian
Physical Description: Strong but lean build. Slightly short. Appears to be 40-45 years old.Rough face with lots of acne scars from his youth and a few other scars from his not-so-youth, on in particularly deep one across the bridge of his nose, which broke the cartilage and left the nose slightly bent after it healed. Slight sunburn under his eyes. An almost perpetual squint. Long dark brown hair about 7 inches long in total. Naturally grown out beard, about 1-+ inch long, and has a bit of grey in it. He is clean by wasteland standards, but still a little grimy, perpetually like a man who has been camping and hiking for a few weeks. Is missing two knuckles of his left pinkie finger.
Outfit: Navy and red button-up plaid shirt. Khaki work jeans, the kind an industrial worker would have worn, held up by a belt. Brown combat boots,. Brown leather gloves. Light Body armor over the shirt. A tan canvas satchel held on his left side, with the strap of the right shoulder, over the armor. Dark brown duster with plenty of dust on it, over the satchel. Brown leather pistol holster on his right side, and a black leather rifle holster on his back, next to a sleeping bag. Overall very similar to Ranger Combat Armor in appearance, but not as good as the real thing, because it lacks the high quality armor. Might stop a 9mm or even a .357, but not much else.
Brown Cowboy Hat. Light gas mask on his neck, in case.
Arms: Service Rifle chambered in .44, Hatchet, Ranger Sequoia
Occupation: Bounty Hunter, Hired Guard, Mercenary
Affiliation: NCR Citizen. Ex-ranger. Supports NCR overall, but doesn't necessarily do anything strictly for the NCR, unless he is paid. Hates Raiders, Bandits, and other like scum. Wary of tribals.
Standing/Karma: Chaotic Neutral
Personality: Gruff and Conflicted Almost like he's been disillusioned, but still wants to hold on to what he believed in. To the point about things. Doesn't like to exchange in small talk.
History: Typical Rancher childhood. Grew up on a brahmin ranch near the north-eastern border in the Sacramento Valley, which is where he learned to shoot, like so many others in the NCR. Wasn't a good enough shooter one day. Ranch was destroyed by Raiders, and he survived by hiding after being shot. Scavenged what he could from the ranch and eventually decided to join the army after awhile of drifting. Excelled in the military. After 2 years of service pushing east, and plenty of pressure from officers and the like, he became a Ranger instead of renewing his deployment papers. Successful Ranger for 23 years. To many mistakes made in the Mojave by the NCR for him to want to continue working for them directly. Still loves his country, but not in the same way he used to. Shows his support for it in different ways too. Wanders Mojave. Does odd jobs and mercenary work. Currently doing bounty work, somewhere.

I've always wondered how Hydra was applied. I assumed it was a drink, especially since it was in a bottle unlike healing powder, that was a very effective painkiller and would begin the process for bone and marrow regeneration in a painful way hence the poison no doubt used a s a number and the night stalker blood to counteract it while the cave fungus' healing properties for limb regeneration was activated by one of the other components.
If this is true, presumably you could have drunk it before anyone even woke up unless you want a recommended dosage which given your character's brashness I doubt.
Oh and hope to see you around Fizzer.

By and by I thought I'd just show a sort of planned progression for Eddie since I have his backstory completely compiled and linked into the other other wasteland characters I wrote long ago.
Eddie Chamber's, Son of Edward Chambers, Grandson of Johnathan Chambers. All of whom went looking for the Unlucky Eight and died trying [hey look a story arc should another one finish].
Basic Progression without getting too ridiculous would be from
Wasteland Surgeon Outfit -> Joshua Graham's Armour -> Reinforced Chinese Stealth Armour
With wepaons progression from
.357 Revolver -> .45 Auto Pistol -> 10mm Submachingun Tribal Spear -> Machete Gladius/Katana -> Leo's Lance

What is Leo's Lance? I imagine it is a unique Thermal Lance, but I've never heard of it...
Also, the 10mm SMG just is not end game material at all, and actually seems to be a downgrade from the .45 pistol. You really need high stopping power per bullet to get through high tier enemy armor. I'd go with a 12.7 SMG or Pistol.

I'm keeping my character relatively balanced as I see it. Being that I intend to make a full melee weapons build I figure other weapons skills should be kept within reason and all I need the SMG for is fire power. I can't really RP a character carrying Leo's Lance, a Lightmachinegun, and wearing an armoured stealth suit .
Plus when you look at my build you can see that Melee weapons have a very high Damage Threshold Negation enough to be doing full damage against Deathclaws so I somewhat need a weapon designed to kill humans.
Y'know Steel and Silver swords all witcher like!

I feel it remiss of me to point this out now.....but my character passed through Nipton a few days before all this went to ****....... I could have told you from the start it was a dead town lol.
Also didn't realise we were following the New Vegas plot so closely.

In relation to True's post, how much weapons would we be allowed to have? I had a plan that if Lucas reaches New Vegas he'd find somewhere to use as a kind of base (Like a room in a casino) and store a couple weapons. But still only having three on him at any point.
What're you looking at me like that for? I'll shank you I will.

As many as you literally could envision your character being able to carry and use effectively. This isn't like the game where we can have invisible stores of weapons. Unlike the game I suggest you simply take a realistic expectation of what your character can try to achieve.
You have a Minigun? You pack is going to be rather small and likely strung under the arms.
Carrying a few Pistols? You could probably also carry a rifle.
You happen to be in possession of a Plasma Rifle, Laser Rifle, and Two Laser Pistols and a full pack you might have trouble in a fight or tire quicker on the road. It's all checks and balances that makes for good story telling.

Something reasonable. If you have a dufflebag with you, you could carry 3 more. But just on your person, 3 primaries. Grenades dont count as primary but Im putting a cap on it for 5 and for mines

That's reasonable. Would it be safe to assume that a storage container in an owned/rented room that he switches gear at would also be permitted?

Since Jason will be helping Eddie bury the bodies, I'll point this out for Eddie, Perception or Medicine check will notice something about the raider Jason fought, which you would know he did in fact fight because of the wound he had and the fact that he retrieved the weapon.

Yes but logically every time you want to change over equipment you need to travel there. Just consider it from a pragmatic sense. You see a valuable rifle......yes you can carry that.
Write it into your story.
" He shouldered both the Assault Carbine and Hunting Rifle noting how the weight made moving difficult. He'd be able to keep up with the others but the efforts until he could offload the weapon somewhere would be tiring."
Also logically in combat.....
" Lucas dropped the Plasma Rifle to the ground sending it skittering away across the hard top with a sharp scraping of steel on asphalt un-slinging his laser rifle and returning fire. Dropping the precious pre-war relic could have damaged the weapon but it was a risk that had to be taken."
Just simple stuff like that. Personally I am a fan of making every fight or obstacle for characters to over come challenging so that when they do it feels like more of an achievement when they do over come it. There's no value in killing weak enemies in game or in story telling, you always up the difficulty toggle.

By the way Max when you say the Lord's work you do understand that the Legion religion is the Cult of Mars, worship of the Roman God of War don't you?
Or are you purposefully mixing up the Christian God and Mars? That is an interesting concept in its own right,.....that would make Caesar.....your messiah then?
Also the terms used to refer to non aligned wastelanders are dissolutes while NCR and the like are profiligates. That might help you down the road if you want to start making distinctions as a member of the Legion.

Well more technically a Mormon.....so Mormonism....which depending on whom you ask is more or less a cult that denies essential biblical teaching and adds what orthodox Christian groups would consider false doctrines.
If you character is devoutly Mormon he would have a very low opinion of Joshua.
