The reason is "show me the money!"
SONY supports more international currencies for micro-transactions I counted 64 currencies including China.
XBOX LIVE and Steamworks cannot compete, and CCP would never attempt it themselves.

Steam supports: United States Dollars (USD), British Pounds (GBP), Russian Rubles (RUB), Brazilian Reais (BRL) or Euros (EUR) depending upon your location. Even if you don't live in one of those countries you can use PayPal.

Thank you, for helping me prove the point that steamworks cannot compete, as they use a middle-man (Paypal). Why would you want an external step between you and a customer?

CCP sells Eve through Steam and through their website. No reason why they can't do this with Dust 514 if the currency thing really is an issue.
Speaking of "an external step between you and the customer"... Sony/MS require all patches and updates to go through their own internal QA processes. This adds time between when CCP finishes a patch and when the patch finally hits our consoles. On Steam CCP releases a patch when they are done developing it. No middle men
Furthermore, test servers for Dust 514 are unlikely on Sony consoles. I believe this is due to the test servers requiring a second client download and Sony is not okay with that. On Steam users can download test clients or even beta patches pre-production release easily.
Plus, you know, consoles are inferior to PC gaming in other ways, but we will stick to the PSN vs. Steam argument for now.

SONY does handle regression testing as a value service to CCP, and can complete the process in an amazing 7 days!
Test servers are not necessary, people are haters...lol! As well as the fact that SONY PSN has 10x the number of "active" users , over SteamWorks-making them a burden with limited returns on CCP's efforts.

This entire thread is a giant sh*tpost.
We don't know what CCP is going to do, the timing says they've already made up their minds and there is nothing we can do to change it. Because if they haven't made up their minds the odds of achieving a port before sunset is about nil.

Bad game? you want to be part of CPM? I know you want it to migrate to a WINTEL platform, but you need to come to terms with the financial realities, and it pretty clear on what network is best suited for micro-transactions.

consoles are functionally purpose-built PCs with odd operating systems nowadays. Compatibility is all defined by how they are translated with each other.

PS4 is a PC with a BSD variant. BSD is a linux flavor, and linux is a UNIX variant. UNIX was created by Bell labs a long, long time ago, and UE4 has already been written for BSD othe PS4.

CCP has already committed to "splitting" as evidenced by PC/PS4 Valkyrie.
I would refer to it as hedging or shorting on "future" gaming player derivatives. Most large dev's have committed to the consoles-CCP would have to be incompetent not to be aware of basic historical facts.

Abandoned? a lot of stuff magically appeared over night..lol. yes, it mostly was to make DUST514 profitable, and yes it did make it profitable to some extent!
Last time I heard of CCP Rouge was that he was working on the phone demonstration app for EVE tail gunners inside CCP Shanghai.

It takes time for programmers to get up to speed, and it's a function of the game engine optimization, and not the game devs.
We are running GT6 @ 1080 and 60fps on the PS3 as well as COD. Our PS4 has GTA and Project Cars, and they run at a very comparable level to our dual SLI I7.

No low end PC or even a high end PC has a 128bit bus to 8 gigs of DDR5 as the PS4 does. So for the price point the PS4 King of the hill.

Of course! The PS4's 1080p has a higher pixel ratio to screen count, that's just 1080p technology 101
I have a single GTX 970 running on a PC with a 6 year old budget AMD processor, and let me tell you I wish I spent that $3000 on a PS4, because if I use DSR to crank up the resolution past my monitors native 1920x1200 with all settings on very high, my FPS in GTAV almost drops down to 30 like the PS4 version. See, I have to make sacrifices, while the PS4 version is locked in at max settings for the PS4!
With AMD working so closely with Sony I'm sure that they will succeed in optimizing the Project Morpheus VR experience above and beyond the solid 90 frames per second at 2160x1200 resolution required by the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, something that will be made easy with the PS4s advanced gaming optimized operating system oh god i can't keep going im dying |

I know huh, the Morpheus is going to rock hard. Imagine trying to use non controller peripherals with out being able to see them. I have driven with the rift, with a wheel in a pro seat and it worked, but if the game does not have a good UI for the VR you are lost. at least the Morph allows you to peek out the bottom.
As resolution to a monitor/TV is concerned I sit on a couch and the human eye cannot not tell resolution past 8 feet (I think it was 8 feet) so any thing over 1080 at the distance of most home entertainment setups is a waste. Couch, + Controller, +Morph will be a balls on fire hoot.

For 3 grand you could of bought a Samsung 40inch, a PS4, a racing seat and a thrustmaster wheel and still had money to give CCP!
Too bad, but just think you can play goat simulator and all kinds of indy games.

Too bad, but just think you can play goat simulator and all kinds of indy games. You don't need $3k to destroy a PS4's hardware stats. Hell, you need roughly $450 to build a PC to surpass the current gen consoles.
And lol @ the indy game comment PCs play games from indy to AAA and you know it. Consoles get a handful of exclusives, and with the exception of certain Nintendo titles and franchise flagship mascot titles (e.g God of War for Sony), many of those exclusives one day end up on PC as legit ports.
Or you can just download an emulator in a year or so when the PS4 is LONG since obsolete and play PS3/4 games on it

yeah man i cringe every time i think about it what a waste of money, i could be running a ps4 at 4kk resomolution right now, with a 250mbps comcast extreme internet connection for high definition gaming, instead i tried to build my own computer (ended up costing me twice as much cash as just buying from alienware) and it was obsolete like a month later, I'll need to upgrade again to play the PC port of the next COD
I mean goat simulator is pretty cool and I guess there are indie games like Star Citizen and Elite but it sucks not being able to play the latest AAAA games like The Cinematic 1886 and Dark Souls Werewolf Edition
And I can barely even afford games after all the money i spent on the computer, you can't really buy them used for pc like you can at gamestop with the PS4, i mean steam is running a sale starting tomorrow for the next couple of weeks which is ok sometimes games are like 5% off but still not as nice as being able to pay only $54.99 for a used game at gamestop with a pro rewards membership |

If you look at all of them, there where far more GOTY's that appeared on consoles that never had a PC version, and very few that where only PC.
When companies realized 10 years ago it was not the hardware but the media content that would determine platform they made changes to their operations. PC owners are in denial of these realities.

Collect the "best of 2015" computer magazines when they come out and then build your computer in june/july. I plan ahead and keep copies of those magazines and then pull them out when it's time to buy components, by then the hardware vendors have hammered out many driver issues and you do not pay premium dollars. I also chase specific game titles and keep in mind the year that they where created and then you know by year what hardware to buy. FO4 and Bethesda worked with best of 2014/2015 PC's then you know how much is enough.

the original intent of this post was to compare the ability of the three networks to handle international currency exchanges in support of micro transactions-then the PC master race came in and wanted to talk about hardware, because they are nerds.
And if you use your reading comprehension skills you will discover that I never said the console was better.

Why would you want an external step between you and a customer? It is a work around, sure. No middle men Furthermore, test servers for Dust 514 are unlikely on Sony consoles. You also fail to realize WHY sony and MS do these internal QA, as there's a potential problem of a dev missing a ; or adding a 0 too many, and BOOM. 2500 PS3s are fried, destroyed, unusable again or even repairable.
In the PC realm you have this as well, but its a much better known platform to code for and as such doesn't have that as high of a likelihood.

ok, now I'm starting to understand you
You've got two nearly 5 year old gpus with the overhead of SLI and barely over 1gb of vram, playing two of the most vram guzzling games in recent pc history. From your perspective those games WOULD seem to run as well or better on the PS4. GTAV will even lock you out of raising many of the settings by default.
I'm sorry, when I saw your "1080p@120mhz" and "PS4 is comparable to my dual SLI i7", I thought you were another one of those "I have/have a friend with tri-SLI GTX Titan X on a 4790 but PS4 is better graphics!" posers, running their mouth off about hardware they don't understand, and that's when I decided it would be fun to shitpost. Well, you still kind of are but MOVING ON
Games these days are finally starting to use more vram. Modern video cards, even many of the budget cards like the 750ti, have 2gb of vram at the minimum, and 2gb of vram is starting to become the minimum requirement of newer games. As you should know, GPUs are the single fastest depreciating piece of hardware in PCs and consoles. Every generation's "mid range" cards equal or outperform last generation's "high end" card.
Of course, the problem is so much worse with consoles, cause you can't just plug in a new mid-range GPU in a few years. No, you need an entire new console for that. Meanwhile, mainstream video cards are soon going to be rolling out with 8GB of high bandwidth memory that makes GDDR5 look like a joke, in addition to the separate 8+gb of the lower latency DDR3/4 RAM the CPU uses. Every year that passes, the consoles will be left further and further behind by cheap PC parts.
The PS4 was mediocre when it was brand new. "In engine" E3 trailers rendered on PCs end up looking nothing like the final game on consoles, developers desperately try to pretend that 30 FPS is an "artistic choice". It's going to be interesting seeing how many corners will have to be cut in a game to get it to run at the framerates required by VR. |

750 ti in sli you sure about that buddy "divide by 9 to find a transposition of values"--ding ding ding you are corect! my bad 570's ok, now I'm starting to understand you You've got two nearly 5 year old gpus with the overhead of SLI and barely over 1gb of vram, playing two of the most vram guzzling games in recent pc history. Well, you still kind of are but MOVING ON Games these days are finally starting to use more vram. Good luck playing goat simulator or what ever @!*^ they throw over the wall at you
But you will have a $1200.00 dollar video card to run that soon to be forgottten indy game of the week.
5 nights freddy's is a "popular" game on steam, but maybe overstimulating for you....lol!

boo hoo!
you are an admitted "shitposter".
you use sarcasm to inflate circular reasoning.
but the best was when you show that you are a POSER- you alluded to my 570's and the VRAM available, if you really knew what you were talking about you would have known that you CANNOT SLI anything less than a 2mb ti board.
laughing @ you dude.

Oh, I stand corrected
So, I suppose you do have two of the newer 750 Ti in SLI like you said at first, since, as you say, you can't SLI non-ti cards? |

Or since they are SLI'ed they are TI's.
Do you work retail in a nerd shop, i'm curious.
you guy's over spend on premium priced hardware, then only later.. omg no games!
then the circular argument my puter is more expensive so it must be better-tripe!
this argument that you struggle with was decided a decade ago...gtfu!
