This thing tears holes in tanks.
You know how the Sentinel description says "can stand toe to toe with HAVs"?
Yeah, I had tanks running away from ME today. Tank destruction count so far: 6
Got cocky and lost an archduke to a quafe shotgun while chasing after a tank...still fun as hell though!
Need to spec into some proper AV grenades now

sadly even half decent fits will just rep through your damage. i mean i destroyed some tanks with my AHMG but when it comes to actual tank fits, no chance at all :/ |

I actually have prof V in HMG and Amarr Sent, frequently bust out proto assault sentinel when I get pissed, always use an AHMG on that fit. I have yet to try it on tanks, I mean when dropships fly low trying to take my point, I rip through them because they are paper thin and all, but I have yet to try an AHMG on a tank.
Next time I'm on, most likely monday, I will have to try and make an AHMG AV fit.

It was working better than a proto forge gun with two damage mods.
Though I did kill mostly shield tanks, and only when their hardeners were down...I still scared off a good handful of maddys.
The shields on them drop in a split second, so they instantly pop their modules and run away. That in itself is worth it to me.
I think the alpha from a proto AV grenade could definitely improve my chances of downing a Maddy though

Somas and sicas are easy with a Freedom AHMG.
But smart HAV fits content yourself with scaring them unless there is multiple AV

I've been having strange issues with the efficacy ratings. Playing last night, my STD AHMG only read as single digit efficacy against various types of vehicle, including LAVs, at very short (0-20m) ranges, while my squadmate was reading in the 50's at 90m. I tried various tiers of AHMG, but I haven't noticed any distance.
What kind of efficacies are they supposed to have, for reference?

This weapon feels closest to the chromosome HMG. Actually has some range to it.

Shouldn't it just have it's usual 85/115 efficiency and have proficiency apply? Having it at 100% all the time makes Gunnlogis even weaker, and Madrugars shrugging it off as usual.
Either way, it's a solid weapon. Honestly I do better with it vs. infantry than the regular HMG.

Do you get damage points with the AHMG? Even if you don't get the finishing blow? I know you don't with small blasters

I'll have to pay more attention. I've been trying to perfect my LAV ramming a tank and jumping out to massage the weakspot maneuver. Not paying attention to UI spam.

Bad tankers die.
But it's really simple tito move out of range as optimal is only about 40m and the gun will overheat before it kills you unless you stick around while it cools or he puts every round between the HAVs buttcheeks for a lead enema.
The ahmg is an excellent LAV killer. It can make an ADS panic and back off. But it is not a primaary AV weapon.
But I can't complain about that because it's fking fun to use.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I don't stop shield regen on a Gunnlogi, I just significantly outpace it.
And my point with the 100% profile is that it widens the disparity between shield and armor tanks.
And yes, I agree it shouldn't wreck tanks. A weapon that can kill everything should be mediocre at both tasks. (FG and PLC are skill-shot, so the same rule doesn't apply to the same degree.)

Edit: Best way to **** off an ADS? Use an AHMG ;) Shayz killed myself and a friend of mine in a Madrugar yesterday.
He had help, but he was still the one who got the kill credit.

Good point. I've been there, pissing off 5+ people and wondering why the team isn't pushing.
I'm just not a fan of that cycle even when it works. It's very rage inducing and has made both sides hate eachother. As an AVer, I'm still having PTSD from 1.7. I dislike the idea of someone killing without consequence and getting away with it. And when I tank, I resent the the angry mobsters that follow me endlessly and somehow still hold all the points.
I have a vision for V/AV balance, and it involves small blasters being awesome. I might make a thread.
