We may certainly offer skins at different price points later once our authoring pipeline has more velocity.
We just need a slot in suits that act as a "customization" slot...
On Weapons as well...
We then could buy skins or shaders from CCP at 5-10 bux a pop and tweak our look and gun look how we see fit...
Then work on giving us a social area for a corporations or even a Singular DUST 514 space bar Similar to what PSN gave us with DUST avatar skins...
INcentivizing players to buy and show off their purchases and create envy so other players purchase as well..
Build this mechanic into the game... This is a legit F2p Mechanic that should of been making DUST money since Beta.... Every vet has been pleading with CCP to atleast make money off customization... Just setup the a solid foundation and then let the sales fund further development of the skins and shaders. |

I love this! CCP does something right. It is expensive at launch and forum trolls attack.
It is launch! WTF Forum Trolls!
You expected them to be cheap at launch? If I buy a skin now, I want my big shiny new porche to be big shiny and exclusive. So suck it! It is like the people who bought Iwatches at launch. No functionality this is about vanity. Don't hate on people for wanted to be shiny and special and will pay for it. Also don't hate CCP because they rolled more into this patch than all the patches last year. Caboom! new game mode, skins for all suits, lag reduction from contacts and chats.
From Logi, to Heavy, to Scout, now I am moving to ADS. Please stop balancing!

I just dont know why ccp gets this so wrong all the time. Skins in other games are sensibly priced, i own several in elite: dangerous for 3 english pounds each and ive splashed out a hell of a lot more on these than i will on the ones for dust at their prices.

I would pay $10 for a skin that applies to all of one race or one tier of dropsuit, but not for just one tier of one race. Especially if that's just a scout suit (because light frames don't exist).

We may certainly offer skins at different price points later once our authoring pipeline has more velocity. So do a survey and ask the playerbase if they bought their BPOs for Fashion or Function. If they say Function, well, then you'll have your answer So a players Quafe, when he has 3 Dren's, is function? Hardly. We will see.
I may only buy a Quafe IF Quafes get separated into skins and BPO's, this way i can finally have my Templar commando, which CCP so conveniently forgot to add (along with a scout). And i hope that Templar's also get separated so i can do said procedure as well. Other then that I'll sell my Quafe skins for isk, I'm not a big fan of them. |

CCP is greedy. Full stop.
For 40$ I get a full game, why should I buy 4 cosmetic skins? That is ridiculous.
On the plus side I have to say that it is at least cosmetic so no one is forced to buy it. BUT
I dont like to stress this saying to much.
You upset people with to high prices. Please tell this your marketing. Even if some people are rich or have parents that pay anything for their children.
Interesting side note: Skins are introduced in EVE too with MUCH lower prices (~3500 Aurum for smaller vessels even less). Of course you have to pay their a monthly fee so it is maybe not comparable straight forward, but if I sum up the costs for a fast skill point gain in Dust514 I have to say that Dust514 is an very expensive game.
Upsetting people is irrelevant as long as some people pay.
If you offer skins at $10 rather than $1 you can afford to have 1/10 of the purchases, and if you get any more than that (which is probable) you end up with more money. vOv

I don't see a lot of value in skins personally, but I'm happy you guys are adding them for people who are into it. From my perspective, the prices seem high for an item with less utility and also relative to the pricing on cosmetic items in other games. I wasn't planning on buying skins either way, so either you can take my feedback as unbiased, or disregard it because I'm not planning on buying them. I would be willing to drop some AUR on BPO STD weapons though (but not via the key lottery system). I just don't want you to make the mistake of conflating the demand for BPOs with demand for skins. I have spent a lot of AUR on BPOs, but I'm not really into cosmetic stuff beyond what I already have. I'm sure you guys will run the numbers and do what's best for the game, so I'm not too worried about this issue. I suspect the pricing "sweet spot" will end up being closer to $5 for skins.
I couldn't agree more, on the price point for skins. We should get 3 skins for $5 dollars.

It is when the Quafe assault dropsuit is a Minmatar suit that he can use rather than the Dren which is Caldari which is weapons and skills do not jive with.
