CCP is greedy. Full stop.

For 40$ I get a full game, why should I buy 4 cosmetic skins?
That is ridiculous.

On the plus side I have to say that it is at least cosmetic so no one is forced to buy it.
BUT

I dont like to stress this saying to much.

You upset people with to high prices. Please tell this your marketing.
Even if some people are rich or have parents that pay anything for their children.

Interesting side note:
Skins are introduced in EVE too with MUCH lower prices (~3500 Aurum for smaller vessels even less).
Of course you have to pay their a monthly fee so it is maybe not comparable straight forward,
but if I sum up the costs for a fast skill point gain in Dust514 I have to say that Dust514 is an very expensive game.

And how often do you actually run a basic suit? I'll bet you would run that SKIN way more often on your advanced and proto suits than you ever would have run a standard BPO. Bang for the buck is equal, imho.

Am I going to pay $10? Nope. Waiting for faction LP/ISK SKINs.

I would pay $10 for a skin that applies to all of one race or one tier of dropsuit, but not for just one tier of one race. Especially if that's just a scout suit (because light frames don't exist).

So a players Quafe, when he has 3 Dren's, is function? Hardly. We will see.

Debating on whether or not to buy a Kador SKIN...

Not only will I be one of the only Amarr scouts in existence, I'll have a snazzy skin on top of that!

I have ~26,000 AUR literally just sitting there, and boosters aren't for me, so why not? I also have 20$ in my PSN... Damn. I'm getting it.

I consider the primary utility of my colored bpo's the actual look, which is the only reason I bought multiple bpo's in the first place.

Having the ability to confer that look to any suitable dropsuit is be far a bigger utility than a bpo.

We may certainly offer skins at different price points later once our authoring pipeline has more velocity.

-shrug- EVE just released their new SKIN system too, and their skins only apply to a single ship out of dozens, prices range from under to over $10.

I have three points.

Firstly, the fact that we managed 5 pages complaining about SKIN price only seems to tell CCP we want them real badly; ie. if they do drop the price it won't be by much. If no-one said anything about SKINS, if sales were low and it looked like no one even cared, then they'd probably drop prices by half. In theory.

Secondly, I wouldn't mind if they left skins at $10, and once AURUM item trading is enabled, rich kids could sell skins for ISK. Sounds like a solid way to create a DUST 514 'PLEX'.

Oh, and by the way, does anyone remember the fact that, oh, I don't know, we get AUR for free now, as well as the free AUR from the upcoming event (if you're hardcore enough)?

If existing bpos (22,000) will be converted to skin plus bpo - does it mean a non skinned? bpo will now cost 3,000?
