Personally I would reduce skin prices over time, so as you make a new one it is xx price as the new and shiny price but those in the market a while go down. Also do weekly 50% off skin sales, it works. I guess this a good idea, kinda what LoL does. I wouldnt pay more than 5 bucks for a vanity item ..so say overall cost was reduced to 10 bucks ide buy a few ona sale day ..If sale was 50 %..

I think someone suggested it above... start the SKIN price at $10 then reduce it every couple months. People who want to standout and be the first to own a new SKIN can pay a premium. Others can choose to pay at a price point they are more comfortable with a few months later.

Being the first of their kind, SKINs will come at a premium (viewer is *sorely* needed). A good business decision will be to reduce the prices once a greater variety come out.
That being said, I currently have no intention on buying them right now. But, as has been echoed in this thread, doing SKIN sale rotations for x% off isn't a shabby idea.

I find the skins to be costly, but not way too costly. This is mostly because I'm covered BPO wise, so there isn't any 'function' to sell to me anymore.
The added benefit of being able to skin advanced and pro fittings seems worth the price point. Except that I didn't find any attractive skins that are useful to me. So now I have a bunch of AUR and nothing to do with it. Meh.
Anyhow I think the pricepoint nicely sits where the items will be exclusive enough to stand out to justify the price. I just need to wait until interesting skins come around. |

hey relax, it starts high as always. Standard practice in business, you can lower the price later but upping is a bit harder.
This has been the case with basically all AUR stuff (omegas etc). There will be bundles and discounts and maybe even general price drop.
It just makes sense to start with higher price to see if masses buy it.
Looking at both sides of the coin.
Even Aurum one.

Unless I get them free from a strongbox or salvage 38k. Aur won't be going anywhere. Just a straight money grab. They have no function. Strictly cosmetic. I was ok with that. But why price them so high?
Skin= Stupid. Don't buy them. They will lower the price. Too bad scrubs already did. |

As a person who bought 2 apex suits and thought the price of 25$ per suit was OK.
I just want to say that I wouldn't spend more then 2.50$ per skin. It's non functional. I might buy a bunch if they where priced 1$ each. |

Having the ability to confer that look to any suitable dropsuit is be far a bigger utility than a bpo.
We may certainly offer skins at different price points later once our authoring pipeline has more velocity. So do a survey and ask the playerbase if they bought their BPOs for Fashion or Function. If they say Function, well, then you'll have your answer So a players Quafe, when he has 3 Dren's, is function? Hardly. We will see. I have to agree with this. I don't think there is a good functional explanation for me buying 4 Amarr Sentinels BPO's.
Dren (Yeah, that was a functional purchase) Sever (Fashion) Raven (Fashion) Quafe (Fashion)
And to think, I mostly run Advanced suits now...

Eh, I bought one because I was excited for the patch but nothing's really changed. Acquisition is kinda broke right now and there's no other new content besides stuff that should have been in the game since day one.

I know that this post will ban me from forum but I think it is worth.
CCP is greedy. Full stop.
For 40$ I get a full game, why should I buy 4 cosmetic skins? That is ridiculous.
On the plus side I have to say that it is at least cosmetic so no one is forced to buy it. BUT
I dont like to stress this saying to much.

If they say Function, well, then you'll have your answer So a players Quafe, when he has 3 Dren's, is function? Hardly. We will see. I bought my BPOs for function. I don't see a lot of value in skins personally, but I'm happy you guys are adding them for people who are into it. From my perspective, the prices seem high for an item with less utility and also relative to the pricing on cosmetic items in other games. I wasn't planning on buying skins either way, so either you can take my feedback as unbiased, or disregard it because I'm not planning on buying them. I would be willing to drop some AUR on BPO STD weapons though (but not via the key lottery system).
I just don't want you to make the mistake of conflating the demand for BPOs with demand for skins. I have spent a lot of AUR on BPOs, but I'm not really into cosmetic stuff beyond what I already have. I'm sure you guys will run the numbers and do what's best for the game, so I'm not too worried about this issue. I suspect the pricing "sweet spot" will end up being closer to $5 for skins.
Best PvE idea ever!
