i know that LAV's have beeing nerfed into the ground of beeing literally useless. The PG+CPU buff did not helped them at all simply because you cannot go back to the old lvl of HP while having the thing fitted for 100k+ ISK. In my opinion we need more slots on the LAV's and small sized modules need to be buffed to give more HP.
The small module buff would aswell help ADS pilots to survive longer. I was thinking about how its looking with small/large armor reppers. A small complex armor repper heals 75HP/s while a large basic armor repper heals 80HP/S. What i want is that small complex plates/shield extenders have a much closer gap towards their STD large variants. That way LAV's and dropships would have more HP when fitted properly.
I make the scrubs scream and the vets cry.

Why should a light vehicle stand up to heavy AV.
One of the primary reasons for nonstop AV on the field to hit tanks rather than escalation to AV to deal with hardeened vehicles is the fact that an LAV is immune to small arms fire and REQUIRES the deployment of forge guns, swarms, plasma cannons and AV grenades.
It's a jeep. The LAV we have now and the stupidity we have now is because this is treated as though it were this.

Kicker is all AV players are like this.
It is why the LAV is dead It is why the DS is dead It is why the ADS is dead
All AV has to be a nuclear warhead to combat the HAV and because of that it kills every other role dead, where as if vehicles cancelled each other out it would be more fairer as a whole since a LAV can out manouver a HAV and an ADS can fly above and a HAV has range etc.
Only way it may change is if AV weapons become a % modifier so it for example it does 20% damage to a vehicle so for each vehicle that 20% is a different number but then that requires another overhaul and more changes.

It would be a small riot since there is about 50 pilots left it seems these days, would be a biblical plague if the SL is changed in anyway though.
Well you still want AV to be the end game where vehicles are concerned and with that you have killed 3 other vehicle playstyles.
If vehicles combated each other without AV then it could easily be LAV-DS/ADS-HAV where a LAV uses its speed and maneuvering, a DS rain down damage from above and a HAV hammers damage at whatever.
The problem is AV, if it doesn;t cause enough damage to a HAV they complain and when it causes enough damage to a HAV it kills all other vehicles and there playstyles.

Sure, vehicles could be the only counter to vehicle, if there was a vehicle only mode or vehicles couldn't kill infantry, but there is not and they can. AV didn't hurt DS-ADS-LAV playstyle, Tankers insistence on being overpowered did. DS and LAV should have an HP buff, tanks should be nerfed and their prices lowered by half or more.
Because, that's why.

Hardened Saga-II, with enhanced heavy extender + pg upgrade & protato turret, can take a good few hits from just about anything.
Methana can be built without a turret (& has better fitting, for some reason) can be pretty good heavy transport/run people over.
Everything else, is balls, no matter how you try to fit it.
edit - would be nice if the LAV's actually protected the people in it, from proximity explosives... Kinda annoying when your squishy crapmobile survives but your heavy suit doesn't. |

actually I haven't in a while. I've predicted how the HAV game was going to play out, successfully, I might add. I know the minimum DPS threshold that it will take to break each class of tank, and I've lobbied to fix a few things that pilots have said are broken.
Your insistence that HAVs be more or less immune to AV (you have, don't even try to deny it) has resulted in a no-balance scenario that isn't intended to last.
I merely wish to stop the HAV nerf/buff routine by setting the current madrugar as a benchmark and bringing the gunnlogi back in line to it, and setting some acceptable parameters for AV. my guidelines of kill time recommendations literally require an HAV driver to do nothing to escape or retaliate, standing still in place for a quarter of a minute, without either rolling out of line of sight, or shooting back, standing stationary so the Av can hammer on him.
It's the perfect storm scenario. And any driver who allows that to happen deserves to have his ass blown to neverland.

To be fair, a maxed out one would get pretty much the same amount (aka not enough to survive more shots), so he does have a point.
Also, LLV's to be able to rep vehicles will need a high amount of eHP to be able to stay on the field long enough to put out some actual reps.

I don't know about that , I think it has more to do with the driver . I like it when a maddy just runs up to me just because they have a blaster and I have a rail turret , I wreck their face 4 out of 5 times just because of how I fit my gunny . Both have their weakness because you basically have to double harden either way for them to be effective . I use shield boosters and regulators like maddies use repairers so that my shields rarely drop and when they do I just get the hell out of dodge .
A lot of people have a problem with backing off and regrouping . I do the same in my DS's and ADS's as well when attacking ground forces , where I see people just flying at their targets and wonder why they get shot down so easily .
I just had a ADS just fly straight at me and I knew what they were about to do so I just dropped it in two shots .
Some people just suck as vehicle pilots / drivers because they don't know how to plot and plan their approach and just try to take people on head on without knowledge of / about what they have or how their equipped .
It's like when people were crying about not being able to take on a heavy straight up , when if your doing so and your not one ... your playing to their strengths if they know what their doing . So now heavies are nerfed because people have zero game plan and CCP punished the role instead of forcing people to think about their approach and actually use tactics .
I'm sure the same will happen to vehicles if people whine like they do about everything else .
This game will get boring fast if tactics are taken away and people just stand in front of each other just firing like COD or BF .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

This is true that the Gunnlogi is a 'little' underwhelming while the option for driving a Madrugar is far superior with its combat capabilities, the comparison is undeniable. Bring it back into line is needed oh and the Ds/ADS needs some love too (couldn't help it!)

You want to buff the FG ROF some more which already does more than enough and you said yourself that it will end the DS but the problem with AV is that it has to be the end all solution and if it isn't powerful enough against a HAV you ask for a buff which puts another nail into the other playstyles.
Give me a reason why it is bad for vehicles to combat other vehicles? Don't even think of mentioning pubs as a valid reason because it is not.
You have LAV-LLAV-Scout LAV-DS--LDS-ADS-HAV-UHAV-DHAV and back to LAV, if each vehicle has its uses along with strengths and weaknesses AV would not be needed because the vehicles themselves could do the job far better and should be better.
Look at AV, it is in a terrible mess with the majority of it being 1 weapon which is completely broken on every level
SL is a broken weapon, remove it FG works PLC works AV nades, would be better if the exploded on hull impact without the seeking mechanism for bad players JLAV broken, unskilled, remove it RE broken, turn it into a claymore PE, bandwidth hammered that into the ground but should be an option but currently isn't used in favor of RE
Out of that i would keep PLC/PE/AV nades if fixed, FG possibly because even now if you have AV on your side when fighting a HAV you will win, AV still decides who is the winner.
I can't even have a HAV battle anymore without AV jumping in and doing the majority of damage and don't even think about using a LAV/DS/ADS because that will be instantly killed.
There is no place for vehicles unless you happen to be a blaster HAV, AV beats everything and my 61mil SP into all vehicles means nothing, i can do better with less into infantry and AV.
Remove AV or at least the bad skillless AV and vehicles get back into the game, but as it is AV still decides every outcome for less SP/ISK and effort and is the best option.

Yea I say this as a PLC user but my weapon with max skills and 0 damage mods is absolutely shredding shield tanks in 2 to 3 shots most of the time, where as that same weapon is not even enough to tickle an armour Madrugar. Unable to even break reps.
You may say that this is because of the weapon profile and to that I would say "ok then - how about we emulate the drastic difference of effectiveness with all other weapons."
Do you think that for instance Swarms should do effectively nothing to shield tanks and only deal significant damage to armour? Do we have it so that HMG`s can barely break shields on dropsuits but deal their heavy damage levels only to armour...... this goes on and on.....

If vehicles combated each other the rep/hardener madruger would be the only thing on the field.
Get real.
To OP: Yes LAV/Dropships need to be revamped to work similar to how the tanks now work, and tanks (possibly just the madruger) need to be nerfed to make the not invincible to everything. |

This has happened to me the very first day of Echo: I was driving a Gunnlogi forward at regular speed; Taka was backing his Madrugar up. We hit, no NOS was involved, and my Gunnlogi was vaporized.
It's not the driver, it's the tank. It's in a really bad place right now. It needs to be buffed to the Madrugar's level so there's some variety. The problem with the tanks is that only one hull is superior. It starts at armor, things get changed, then shield is superior, and with Echo armor is back to being superior.

I hate agreeing with you but the Gunnlogi really is lacking compared to the Madrugar. It's quite simply not reliable though it does achieve so really nice eHP values....those values simply don't stand up the the constant passive repairs [which need to die in a fire] and the newly minted 40% armour hardener.
While I can sympathise with the armour tankers desire to have a place on the map and be kings of CQC the Gunnlogi needs looking at to make it a competitive choice on the field.

HAV Balance situation should have a place in its own thread (Not disagreeing with you on this one spker, just needs to be discussed a proper place)...
LAVs should get the same treatment as HAVs got IMO...moar slots and possibly even more reduced base stats...fielding an unfit vehicle hull should be pretty much giving the enemies a free vehicle kill...but they should be able to be fit for a variety of rolls, including defense.
Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.
