Just sayin'. I haven't skilled into them and I love them. Easier to hit those flying monkeys with my HMG and tank because they can't change the place of fall. They commit to the jump and then if they don't do something crazy mid air (99% don't) they just become easier targets ;)

Slow, floating ducks are hard to hit? Don't try sniping man, you won't survive the ordeal if you think these are tough to hit from a little bouncing.

Myrofibs are incredibly funny and incredibly stupid at the same time. I am not happy about seeing the worst parts of Destiny's PvP or COD exosuits brought to Dust 514.
Mostly because its so removed from context. Thats were the laughs come from, not from something clever or wry, but because people are litterally saying "look how stupid this is" when they hit x and take off.
Not even to say it should be removed. It should be usefull but certainly not a jump hieght as dumb as we have now. So far its with stacking complex myrofibs that make it pretty OP, and that needs to be looked at.

It completely removed a lot of the map design that seemed to funnel people due to the terrain.
No longer do you need a person constantly using a DS to place/kill uplinks.
Engagements are more fun because people are unable to use terrain they knew wasn't passable to limit the approaches of the person they are fighting. |

I.e. Map design is ruined. They redesigned the map to cut off LOS, especially for snipers. Now the maps would need a further redesign to either limit jumping or bring back LOS for snipers and long range.

Well, after playing in the new Echo release for one night, I knew THIS was going to be the one topic that would catch fire on the Forurm.
This M-fibril mechanic is something I don't use on my character, so my reactions to it are only based on observations of the OTHER players I saw using it that night:
I saw two players use their new jumps to take up sniper positions on buildings that were nearer the Objectives, so they could be more effective snipers.
I saw two players use the feature as a new "vertical strafe exploit", where it was impossible for the medium-range opponent to keep a clear line of fire on a target who hops faster than the vertical-response of your controller.
I had one player hack an exterior Null panel, then rise straight up as if by cat-burgler's helicopter cable, and she never came back down. The feature allows you to completely avoid being engaged.
I saw one player give up running around the map completely, and pogo-stick her way toward the objective for as long as the M-fibril allows---as a less-counterable means of travel. It looked as comical and outlandish as the speedy-HAV and the speedy-Scout issues we had.
On the plus: It clearly gives players the opportunity to perch their weaponry/equipment on highground-advantage perches, arguably "at whim", without having to seek the dropship or jumping-LAV assistance that (unfortunately) many players aren't very good at arranging with fellow Dust players.
On the negative: This kind of works AGAINST Dust devs' increasing desire to convince/inspire players to coordinate and successfully get assistance from one another as an effective and rewarded strategy for beating the opposition in a match.
On the plus: It removes the advantages that wise players used against opponents,GǪ the advantage of using terrain limitations and hilly topography to outmanuver an enemy or cover avenues of approach around the map.
On the negative: This attacks the purpose of having maps with TERRAIN. Terrain and hills are part of the important challenge of "controlling access around the map", which is arguably how destroying the MCC is ultimately accomplished. As some people have already posted, there's no advantage to making the maps "essentially flat", by giving free open access to anyone who wants to wear moonboots.
On the plus, it adds a new component of "fun" to those players who may not really have any strategic use for the M-fibril boost, and are just looking to increase their "pleasure" in playing a game.
One the negative, in a videogame that interacts with other human players, "fun" and "pleasure" differs with motives, so game designer need to be careful about what kind of "fun" they are opening their game to. The kind of fun that impedes and alienates too many other players?
No matter what cool new features the majority of us would enjoy and probably use effectively, there's alway among us a risky amount of player who don't care that this is Dust, or it's CoD, or it's video Monopoly. They play it because they want to find SOME method of obstructing the gameplay and disrupting the general population's experience. This is THEIR "fun".
Like the cloak, this is just another "fun" feature that CCP will need to monitor aggressively. We're going to have some considerably bad experiences soon.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

Moonjumping with Swarms makes the battlefield smooth and flat as a table. No... Moon jumping makes nothing smooth and flat, besides the fall hurts you making you easy pickings for tanks. I've been using myofibs to leap onto tanks for my tank surf can opener attack. Its really simple and works a treat: while firmly gripping the can, attach the magnet, and use can opener to remove the lid. By can I mean tank, by magnet i mean flux, and by can opener I mean knife. It takes some practice as any tanker will try hard to shake you off. beware, contents of can may be explosive. If you succeed in cutting the top off a tank in this way, you will most definitely die. But its so worth it when your squads just sitting back watching like "wtf is this crazy--- aw hell yeah!"

You saw this module pull snipers OUT of the redline? +1!
I saw two players use the feature as a new "vertical strafe exploit", where it was impossible for the medium-range opponent to keep a clear line of fire on a target who hops faster than the vertical-response of your controller.
Uh...huh. I'm sure. Because floating through the air in a clearly determinable arc with no way to stop yourself is impossible to aim at?
I had one player hack an exterior Null panel, then rise straight up as if by cat-burgler's helicopter cable, and she never came back down. The feature allows you to completely avoid being engaged.
More capable exfiltration techniques allow characters with no HP to avoid bloody and fruitless battle against the classes with the most HP... noted. hopefully every scout will keep this in mind
I saw one player give up running around the map completely, and pogo-stick her way toward the objective for as long as the M-fibril allows---as a less-counterable means of travel. It looked as comical and outlandish as the speedy-HAV and the speedy-Scout issues we had.
Less counter able in this context means impossible to defend yourself once someone notices you're a clay pigeon... Interesting choice of words.
On the plus: It clearly gives players the opportunity to perch their weaponry/equipment on highground-advantage perches, arguably "at whim", without having to seek the dropship or jumping-LAV assistance that (unfortunately) many players aren't very good at arranging with fellow Dust players.
arguably meaning im gonna argue that sacrificing all your shields to become nothing but a tactical positioning unit is quite the extreme compared to using a drop ship and a combat ready suit. Its less at whim than a drop ship and more likely to die. Problem?
On the negative: This kind of works AGAINST Dust devs' increasing desire to convince/inspire players to coordinate and successfully get assistance from one another as an effective and rewarded strategy for beating the opposition in a match.
Because sacrificing all combat capability to provide pure tactical support for your squad doesn't encourage working together. Ignoring this one, as should everybody else.
On the plus: It removes the advantages that wise players used against opponents,GǪ the advantage of using terrain limitations and hilly topography to outmanuver an enemy or cover avenues of approach around the map.
On the negative: This attacks the purpose of having maps with TERRAIN. Terrain and hills are part of the important challenge of "controlling access around the map", which is arguably what enables us to get each MCC destroyed. As some people have already posted, there's no advantage to making the maps "essentially flat", by giving free open access to anyone who wants to wear moonboots.
Funny because what I'mreading is that you ccan't hide in the hills while you sail through the air, and people sailing through the air can spot people hiding in the hills. Except for the clay pigeon effect, where your lack of shields makes you an easy target... For people hiding in the hills waiting for you to pop up
On the plus, it adds a new component of "fun" to those players who may not really have any strategic use for the M-fibril boost, and are just looking to increase their "pleasure" in playing a game.
Most ppl like this will get bored of being shot out of the aur, breaking shields on landing, or being spotted while traveling and quit juicing myofibs.
One the negative, in a videogame that has you interacting with other human players, "fun" and "pleasure" differs with motives, so game designerss need to be careful about what kind of "fun" they are opening their game to. The kind of fun that impedes and alienates too many other players?
Those who cannot adapt will QQ. This is the law of the land. Despite your beliefs, this series has a long standing tradition of letting the players do what they want as long as there's nothing that says they can't. Its reflected in an old saying you used to hear around here. Since you don't seem to have heard it before let me be the first to tell you: Welcome To New Eden
No matter what cool new features the majority of us would enjoy and probably use effectively, there's always among us a risky amount of players who don't care that this is Dust, or it's CoD, or it's video Monopoly. They play it because they want to find SOME method of obstructing the gameplay and disrupting the general population's experience. This is THEIR "fun".
Coding a game for the ppl who will find any exploit they can is the same as writing laws on the assumption that everyone will break it bc its the law. This backward reasoning will only hurt things. Monitor and adjust? Yes. Assume everyone will exploit? Bad move
Like the cloak, this is just another "fun" feature that CCP will need to monitor aggressively. We're going to have some considerably bad experiences soon.
By monitor aggressively I hope you aren't asking for a repeat of when cloaks had issues and the fix was to break it beyond any semblance of usefulness and then not monitor it at all afterward and ignore everybody who points out how insanely broken it is. If so, I would rather they have just let myofibs stay as an obscure tool only minjas use

Vets have played these maps so many times that we know the "what & where's" so we can anticipate. The new player experience just got more difficult by a dimension. Passive scans plus verticality have made cover a liability!

It's been 2 years since we're asking for a working hit detection, could you please start working on it instead of adding useless and game breaking jumps? THIS will help your new players!!
