I'll preface this by stating that it pretty much fits the role of omni-damage mod perfectly. It is useful for that, but not much else. If you use two weapon types, it will be useful to you, if not, then it probably won't be as useful as the damage mods we already have. As such, I won't be comparing it to stacking one type of damage mod. I'll be comparing it to using different combinations of mods.
Let's begin.
GÇóx2 Krin's [VS] x1 EnhLDM & x1 EnhSDMGÇó +2.62% Light Damage +2.63% Sidearm Damage -30 CPU usage GÇóuses no ISK Winner: Krin's
GÇóx2 Krin's [VS] x1 CxLDM & x1 EnhSDMGÇó +1.62% Light Damage +2.62% Sidearm Damage -53 CPU usage -4 PG usage GÇóuses no ISK Winner: Krin's
GÇóx2 Krin's [VS] x1 EnhLDM & x1 CxSDMGÇó +2.62% Light Damage +0.62% Sidearm Damage -53 CPU usage -4 PG usage GÇóuses no ISK Winner: Krin's
GÇóx2 Krin's [VS] x1 CxLDM & x1 CxSDMGÇó +1.62% Light Damage +0.62% Sidearm Damage -76 CPU usage -8 PG usage GÇóuses no ISK Winner: Krin's
As you can see. These modules will be extremely useful for those of us that tend to use both damage mods types in some of our fits, and will have no drawbacks, for better stats. For somebody that equips, say, 3 complex damage mods, however, there will likely be less use, unless you want to expand the weapon you use in combat.

Myofibrils would have been better. Just sayin'.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that it isn't very useful for Commandos and Logis(Amlogi will get use out of it for sure though). But I don't see how they could have pleased everyone without making it blatantly OP. 5% would have made it better than pretty much every high slot mod.
I'm thrilled about it, personally. For me, this is the equivalent of getting a damage and fitting buff for pretty much all of my fits, along with saving ISK... Like I said, for people that already use two types of damage mods, there is nothing but goodness for us

Crap. I forgot Complex sidearm mods provide 8% instead of 7. I'll modify them. Krin's still comes out on top, for sure though.

I don't know why you are so mad about a damage mod BPO. It is also a very unique module. I would rather have a unique mod than a what I though we would get (a Complex myofibril BPO).
And you can call Ratatti that, if you want. He can't stop you, but he can do something about it if he feels like it...

Basic sidearm damage mods start out at 4% not 3% as some others are stating.
On that note, this fits perfectly in between basic and adv as far as light weapons go and is a direct upgrade as far as heavy weapons go, compared to adv heavy dmg mods.
Also they take the same PG / CPU as militia damage mods - if you use those then you can trade these in for some more damage and less isk |

Oh for sure, my Amarr Logi is going to be very happy very soon. I was trying to fit a Complex Light and Sidearm damage mod to my fit (because why on earth does the Amarr Logi ak.0 have a 3/4 H/L slot layout? Got to use the highs on something I guess) but it wasn't quite possible because of fitting costs. That is no longer an issue! On top of that, I always use assault scramblers on my logis which is getting a huge buff, and two of my three equipment slots are deployables (uplinks and hives) which are getting a max carried buff. Ah yes, this will be good.

I am greatful that they did take the time to make a unique event reward. Its just so odd that for a man whos hella-intent on breaking cookie-cutter high damage fits in favor of true balance and fitting freedom, to reward a damage mod BPO. Thats why its Quixotic.
Its also odd that SKINs have had no mention of anything since Ratatti said hes got solid ideas for how to get the UI to respond to handling them, as well as the character models themselves. The forum tinfoil hat club is finally wrong about development progression of forum feedback, dev plans, silence, implementation. So i guess they're still working on it (damn optimisism sneaking in there)

Complex Light Damage Mod x2 + Complex Sidearm Damage Mod x1
V.S.
Krin's BPO Mod x2 + Complex Light Weapon Damage Mod x1
Krin's setup: +13.25% Light Damage +7.62% Sidearm Damage Uses 76 less CPU, and 8 less PG. Uses 11,190 less ISK
Other setup: +13.51% Light Damage +8% Sidearm Damage
Honestly, I'd use the Krin's.

No blue tags in our Logi thread in Feedback, no buffs in sight, and now a damage mod BPO?

Assuming you don't have fitting trouble or ISK trouble then two light damage mods will be better.
As for logis this is a great benefit to Amarr logis and if CCP ever does the sub-classes idea for logis (two variants per race, 1L 0S 4E and 1L 1S 3E) then other logis could benefit as well.

On an Amarr Logi, which is more focused on Combat than true support? Of course it makes sense. So do precision enhancers. 2 complex gives you last build Scout passive scans. Add the new BPO we just earned and you're good to go.
On a purely support and squishy Logi? No point when Ewar and Tank can be fit, imo.

I use my amarr logis as AV fits from time to time, having these blueprints just might be a good idea for a balance between dealing out swarm damage and being able to defend myself with a sidearm.
The pg/cpu is alot less harsh, as well, which means that you can spam the best nanohives on the market, and still have room for great armor plating and repair modules.
It is also fantastic for my Tash Murkon logis. They could be budget AV fits |
