Could I get a Dev explaining how the stacking penalties apply when you use more unorthodox arrangements of damage mods?
Usually, when you use damage mods that have different values, it counts the ones with the highest value first. This assures the most efficient damage increase. So if you use, say, a Complex LDM and an Enhanced LDM, the stacking penalty is applied to the Enhanced LDM. Pretty straight forward...
But what if you use something like 2 Krin's and Complex LDM? By following the normal logic, I want to assume that the Krin's modules will be reduced at a normal rate, but would the stacking penalty also apply to the Sidearm Damage as well, even though the mod at the bottom of the stack is an LDM and not a SDM?
Something like this would make all the difference between these modules being useful or not.
The way I see it, 1 of 3 things will happen, and depending on what it is, these mods have highly varied usability.
1.) Stacking Penalty for Damage is applied only to the same damage types. By using an LDM, the effect will only apply to the light damage portion of the Krin's mods.
2.)Stacking Penalty is applied to the whole mod, regardless of what kind of damage mods you use. By using a LDM along with Krin's, you would effectively lowering your sidearm damage, for example.
3.) Stacking penalties don't transfer from other damage mods to Krin's at all. Using a LDM and a Krin's would result in no penalties between the two.
Clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Bit of an issue though. We don't know how the relationships work as far as stacking penalties are concerned when using different mods along with the Krin's mods. 1 of 3 things might happen. I'll show you different results depending on what one happens... I'll use 2 Krin's and 1 LDM as my test.
1.) Stacking Penalty for Damage is applied only to the same damage types. By using an LDM, the effect will only apply to the light damage portion of the Krin's mods. +13.25% Light Damage +7.62% Sidearm Damage
2.)Stacking Penalty is applied to the whole mod, regardless of what kind of damage mods you use. By using a LDM along with Krin's, you would effectively be lowering your sidearm damage. +13.25% Light Damage +6.25% Sidearm Damage
3.) Stacking penalties don't transfer from other damage mods to Krin's at all. Using a LDM and a Krin's would result in no penalties between the two. +14.62% Light Damage +7.62% Sidearm Damage
As you can see, the results are different, depending on how the game works put the stacking penalties.

Fizzer XCIV wrote:I'll preface this by stating that it pretty much fits the role of omni-damage mod perfectly. It is useful for that, but not much else. If you use two weapon types, it will be useful to you, if not, then it probably won't be as useful as the damage mods we already have. As such, I won't be comparing it to stacking one type of damage mod. I'll be comparing it to using different combinations of mods.
Let's begin.
GÇóx2 Krin's [VS] x1 EnhLDM & x1 EnhSDMGÇó +2.62% Light Damage +1.62% Sidearm Damage -30 CPU usage GÇóuses no ISK Winner: Krin's
GÇóx2 Krin's [VS] x1 CxLDM & x1 EnhSDMGÇó +0.62% Light Damage +1.62% Sidearm Damage -53 CPU usage -4 PG usage GÇóuses no ISK Winner: Krin's
GÇóx2 Krin's [VS] x1 EnhLDM & x1 CxSDMGÇó +2.62% Light Damage -0.27% Sidearm Damage -53 CPU usage -4 PG usage GÇóuses no ISK Winner: Krin's
GÇóx2 Krin's [VS] x1 CxLDM & x1 CxSDMGÇó +0.62% Light Damage -0.27% Sidearm Damage -76 CPU usage -8 PG usage GÇóuses no ISK Winner: Krin's
As you can see, these modules will be extremely useful for those of us that tend to use both damage mods types in some of our fits, and will have no drawbacks for flat out better stats. For somebody that equips, say, 3 complex damage mods, however, there will likely be less use, unless you want to expand the weapons you use in combat.
Have to say it but:
These Modules are WORTHLESS untill the WEAPON SWITCH GLITCH/BUG is fixed. Thank you.

Reiterate its usefullness for the amarr logi and my other fits where i'm scraping just enough fitting space for something simple left over. It'll be nice on a BPO suit as well.
Yet 2 krins vs Two light damage mods or two side arm damage mods and the krins loses every time. Just saying its not bad, but a 9 day 5 million clone event for this super secret BPO, is underwhelming to say the least. Alot of people were expecting suits. Module is a good safe route that gives everybody the option to use, instead of say, caldari quafe CK.0, but it diddn't need a week long challenge for it.
Redline for Thee, but no Redline for Me.

is this this mod counted as the same as a normal light or sidearm damage mod by the game because only the same type of mods receive stacking pens? sorry if this is a stupid question

It increases damage by 4% to all weapons. Normal heavy and light are 3% boosts, and it has the same CPU and PG of a militia damage mod. |

Greetings,
I noticed that when I look at the suit stats for a fit where I have a Krin's Damage Mod AND a Complex Light Damage mod, there does not appear to be any stacking. Is that intended?
That is, lets say you take have an AR for your Light weapon on an Assault suit, and an SMG for your sidearm (doesn't really matter). You put on a Krin's Damage Mod AND a Complex Light Damage Mod for that fitting.
When you display the stats for the fitting, where it shows damage for Light weapon, it will show 1.07, and for Sidearm it will show 1.04.
But since the description of the Krin states that it adds 4% damage for ALL handheld weapons, shouldn't the Light weapon damage show 1.11 (or 1.10 with a stacking penalty) ? 4% for Krin + 7% for Complex Light Damage Modd? |

When you're killing things, you want more damage to the gun you're using. Complex light dmg mods are winning this. And since you can fit everything proto and complex... then why not?
