Man, I am in the same boat. Every. Damn. Match. I end up being one of 4 (if not THE ONLY) competent player of my team. Meanwhile, the enemy team is populated by 1-2 squads of pub stompers. The same ones I was just pit against last match. And the match before that. And will be pit against in the following match.
It's so annoying. I don't even understand how it is Mu works. My sibling plays in a squad and faces blues nearly every time, and his squad can be considered a pubstomper squad. And yet when he runs solo, he STILL fights those same blues.
Meanwhile, here I am, a solo player, and I get the exact opposite. Just...why? Why does this always happen? Is my Mu really that much higher, a player who is consistently getting beaten into the ground, than someone who consistently stops others into the ground?

Most people leave matches to avoid the proto stomp from the oppoing team, so matchmaking needs to be implemented first. You "solution" is invalid. |

Unless of course Scotty does what he always does and just puts all the squads on one team and all the random individuals on the other because #MUReasons EDIT: Can we experiment with this? Can we get several full squads of FA, OH, Nyain San and just que up at the same time and see how often they actually get pitted against each other? I have yet to see any proof of that happening. Any samples I have studies, are correctly placing large squads against each other.
Once again another, " i haven't experienced it so it doesnt happen". I play 10-20 matches a day and at least half of them the opposing team s stacked and mine full of blues in militia with no clue how to play.

1. They may be matched together, but look at if they end the battle together. After that, look at the performance if they do in fact end together. 2. Just because there is an entire squad on one side, doesn't mean they are both running proto and running the meta.
I suggest looking at #1 more though, as #2 is harder to regulate IMO. If you are in fact looking at what is said in #1 ATM, whatever you guys are doing isn't working as planned.

Well, if the matchmaking is working as intended, maybe the intentions need to be changed. THE biggest problem in Dust is the uneven nature of games and rampant protostomps. Every change that is made to this game should first be considered as to whether it changes this for the worse or for the better. There have been some changes lately, that come at the behest of vets, that are just making things worse.
Because, that's why.

Jesus.
You got mad enough to break a controller? Maybe you should put the game down and go take a walk or something.
Like, I've gotten mad as hell at the game but I just turn the game off when I get angry. Ragequitting is a healthy alternative, I don't care what people say. If you're not having fun with the game turn it off. I'll start up DUST here and there but I can't ever play more than 2-3 matches nowadays just because of how **** poor the game runs.
The matchmaking isn't something that can ever be remedied. Bad players will be bad players. The second I see my game is hopeless because I have 12 "snipers" on my team sitting in the redline, I just leave. There's no punishment for leaving and there's no point to try and fight 1v16.
Some of the players in this game are really pathetic too. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've had games like this only for someone from the enemy team to Hatemail me some sh-t like "LOLOLOL GET OWNED" because they got a kill on me with their entire team at their back with mine being nowhere in sight.
If you ain't having fun, just stop playing. Simple, easy, and healthy alternative to smashing your controller.

If the enemy kills you at a ratio of 10 to 1 then matchmaking is broken, read on if you want the exact gory details.
Played a skirmish, Highest number of kills on my team was 1, 8 people killed 1 person 8 people killed 0 people
For the enemy side the total number of kills was 80
The problem that many players on my team got much less warpoints than they would in a more balanced game would not be fixed by everyone dropping uplinks, if most people drop uplinks then most uplinks would not be used. |

Solo experience today
Doms and skirms are over within the first 10 mins as the enemy team simply has more players doing their job.
4 wins and 13 losses today so far.
Strangely enough, as soon as I squad up, suddenly most matches become extremely easy. With the enemy team almost always being mostly NPC corps.
How the **** does match making even work? Matchmaking clearly favours those who squad up.

True, although it's surprising that your favorite suit that match was a proto fit.
For me, 1< proto suits lost = switch to ADV or lower.

See you guys next week when my over-priced, "brand new" relic DS3 comes in and I can continue playing this ever-more frustrating game that somehow can't seem to ever nail a decent match setup. Wow man you totally echoed my experience tonight... every game i played (ambush and dom) was a merciless permascanned beatdown. I had one mission i wanted to complete for a key (20,999sp one match) which was proving impossible. I finally managed 20,455, or something really close like that and just said screw it and paid the aur for the instantboost. I just couldn't do it anymore. on the brightside i didn't break a controller Been like that every night for me for the past year or so. I'm so fed up with this on-going meta, the constant gameplay gimmicks, never actually having an enjoyable gameplay experience, etc. There was a point when I could legitimately set the control down, smiling, and thinking to myself, "Wow, that was awesome" but now it's just frustration every time. I used to cap out every week and now I'll be lucky if I pull 100,000 SP out of my cap because I just don't care to constantly get my kitten handed to me. But, yanno, "git gud" right? Just saying, back in Chromosome I used to kick ass with an ~7.5 KDR and it's been declining every since, I think I'm at like 2.3 or something now. Which is to say that I didn't change, the game changed. I dunno what culmination of changes made me just this really bad player who can never actually have a good game that I don't sit there and dwell on all the BS entailed in previous matches but whatever it is it's totally killed any joy I find in playing it anymore. Nocturnal Soul wrote:I still find it difficult to understand how people rage at games...maybe it's time for you to take a break. I take a break a week after every new build since Uprising 1.8. I genuinely don't play this game that much anymore. It's nothing like it used to be. I just sort of sign in every time there's a new build hopelessly optimistic that maybe I'll find it enjoyable again but I'm always proving myself wrong. EDIT: It's also the only game I ever get frustrated playing. Anything else, the losses are laughable at best. Dust 514 is like trying to find enjoyment from fellating a hot curling iron.
People have this misconception that it's proto gear that kills you, it's not. Although it's alot better than ADV or STD gear, it's not that hard to kill. Whenever you die to a proto, it's because you either got ambush'd or simply gank'd. Me and some of my buddies from my old corp still stomp with ADV gear, sometimes even MLT crazy fits if we get bored. If you and your squad stay together, you should be able to hold decently against the opposing teams, unless they outclass you greatly in terms of gear.

I'm not sure we can blame the matchmaker for bad players, or even for lazy players (like me, not saying I'm not bad, but I'm definitely lazy.)
I doubt there are enough players to wait for perfectly even teams... But in my experience It dumps me on all kinds of teams, the only problem being it can't tell the difference between a high scoring player and a useful player.
Although I'm being downed by a lot of proto suits lately, I'm also killing a few with my 'lesser' gear, as well as being downed by some others using 'lesser' gear than myself.
Until the game actually revolves around 'winning' instead of being split between some teams going for a win and others going for wp/isk or just plain pratting about, there can't be 'perfect' balance. |

Ive been in and played with (and normally play with) far worse stompers.
Either way, until the mentality of "they have a good team lets leave" is rectified, matchmaking will never work.

You are just spouting off stupid sh!t. Garbage coming out of your mouth.
It is never the Proto gear that is winning the matches....it is the OP Teamwork. They have played together so much, and run as a tight crew that unless you are just as organized or better,,you might as well move on.
Nyain,,Cap Aq., matter of fact,,all of the PC Corps that spend hours playing with each other don't need proto gear to win.
Just as easy do it in BPOs with basic gear.
I do agree Matchmaking is freaking garbage but it is not the gear winning. I hate the expression,,,but Squad to win in a TEAM based game.
EDIT: What is the purpose of getting Proto gear, weapons and suits if everyone is going to cry about using them? Isn't that the purpose,,to get to the highest level. |
