@ Rabbit about the MinLogi
Do you prefer to stagger your uplinks with multiple suits or equip multiple links to 1 suit then switch out? I know that both methods are useful for link coverage but which do you think is a better tendency to develop.

Said a bit differently, while playing the game (i.e. not looking at your suits), there is virtually no difference in game performance (i.e. frame rate) between the two.
Said even more directly: The game isn't reading disk much during a battle, and thus any performance gains are minimal.
Loading the game? Sure! Moving between your quarters and the warbarge? Absolutely. In the battle? Not as best as I can tell -- outside of the time of initial rendering of certain sockets which doesn't affect game play one iota.
If you have direct experience to the contrary, I'm all ears!
Why the eye roll? Not completely accurate. The ps3 only has 256mb of ram and 256mb of vram, developers tend to use a larg pagefile on the hard drive to compensate, and this gives the SSD a noticeable advantage in high lag situations. Changing only the hard drive, performance changes almost night and day between the two on the underground depot map. |

Good question. Since bandwidth was implemented, the max uplinks I've found to be able to drop are up to 10 consistently without fail. Unfortunatley in PC, out of the 10 uplinks I drop only 3-4 will survive the initial first wave of attacks once a perimeter is established. I have 9 individual drop suits geared for PC in a domino effect of logi work so to speak. the first two are geared towards uplinks primarily. Usually if my team can gain control of the match early, I won't have to go outside my two initial suits. A good strategy to develop would be to base each suit around a certain scenario that you happen to find yourself in. Pending on the fight, I even created a suit in which I equip two rep tools. The options are endless.

To back this up:
Remember, Links aren't solely the Logi's job. This job MUST be shared by the whole team. Yes, Logi's should have a link spam suit for when you NEED links, and you probably need one on at least every suit. HOWEVER, as he said, most get destroyed fairly quickly. It's common PC etiquette to kill links the moment you can safely do so (And some people have jobs that are solely link removal). In FA, we have the scouts helping with uplink control, both with removal and placement.
What does this mean? Just like Silly said, Links should only be dominant on fits in the early stages of the match. After the initial dominance is established, its normally very easy for two logis and two scouts to keep a good 8-10 links on the field, scattered about. After the team has established a perimeter, the suits would focus more on sustaining troops against assault (With reps, needles, etc).
Now, maintaining the Link net is a topic in and of itself, but I think that should answer most of your questions.

Better Gun =/= Better GunGame
Get that through your head right now. Gun Game has nothing to do with the tier of gun you are using.
Universal Gun Game Tips:
Know when to hipfire, and when to ADS
Know your recoil, and how to burst to reduce it.
PREFIRE CORNERS
Take Corners wide if you don't know whats around it.
Know how to strafe and use cover. As a Logi, your goal is primarily to avoid death until your HMG death machine comes to get your attacker. Knowing how to strafe and use cover WHILE MAINTAINING LOCK is huge for a Logi. If you AREN'T repping, you need to quickly down your target, or at least drag him to an area with friendlies. Preferbly the second. People love logis that don't die the moment they are primaried. You gotta know how to survive, and take people down.
You'll know gun game when you see it. You will shoot at someone, watch most of your shots miss, and quickly be downed. Or its that guy who you get the jump on, and can't seem to finish off. Then he kills you in reload. Those are people with gun game. Its a combination of shooting ability, situational awareness, and strafing/using cover.
Hope that helps.

The two main suits you should have as a logi are the Minmatar and Amarr; everything else is preference. The Gallente Logi is making a bit of a comeback in terms of E-War against Scan-dampened enemies, and general all purpose sit rep of the enemy location. However, still I find the suit struggling to compete with the amarr and min drop suit. Outside the suit as a whole, it wouldn't be a bad move to spec into the Gal logi. There is a use for it competitively. Master your hacking skills. Cloaks are worthless for a logi suit, leave that to the scouts.
Hope I answered some questions

Situational. Awareness. Knowing who and what is around you is one of the most important factors in being the best logi. Know your limits and never try to be a hero. Only shoot to stave off attackers, or to get a confirmed kill. Never take on what you cannot ultimately defeat. It WILL result in your death and possibly the death of teammates around you.
Also try to stay away from the killzone, keep a distance between you and your teammates as they confront the enemy. Strategic placement of deployable equipment, such as nanohive, uplinks, and Remote Explosives/Proximity Explosives can also make a world of a difference. Whipping out your rep tool acts as a sort of scanner for yourself, as you can read the vital signs of friendlies in about a 20-25 meter radius. Keeping an eye on team member's status is very helpful, as it tells you who needs repping, and if you're attentive, you'll get an idea of what is going on on their side. This is done by seeing how fast their health is going down.
Taking account your own expenses is also paramount to your success. Never run what you can't afford to lose, UNLESS the match seems to be in your favor.
These are simply just a few simple steps on the path of becoming a great, if not the BEST logi out there.
Good luck, and happy hunting. =ƒÿè7

How practical a role is pilot logistics?
I do prefer squad lead due to the extra points and access to orbitals. Command points are always a plus. Furthermore it does help in terms of spotting those that can't be seen as an immediate threat, though I would prefer the feature of secondary command orders for other players in squad in case I can't see what my teammates can.
Pilot logistics are vital in my opinion. They have the ability to place links in high places immediately, which is why the amarr logistics would make a perfect pairing in ADS. The amount of time to call an ADS, get inside, and fly to a said objective from the ground would take over a minute. As crazy as it sounds, one minute is all it takes to be on the losing side of the battle. Having your Ace already airborne from the start of the match will give you access to strategic advantages later during the match.
